I've seen a few bits of Europe, but there is so much I haven't seen, and my travel days are over. My advice to everyone: While you are young enough to walk and climb and explore, travel! And don't be satisfied with just formal tours. Wander down the side streets and walking paths. Visit villages that rarely see a tourist. If you know just a smattering of the language, most people are patient if you do your best with it. Your eyes will be opened!
I completely agree! Sad to hear you can't travel anymore, it truly is one of the greatest activities there is! Especially with car without any real plan on where to go, just explore wherever you end up.
Love your Europe break! amazing buildings, and views! and love the atmosphere of the chaps singing in their local. Makes me want to pack a suitcase.
Yes Prague was amazing, we will go back for sure, it's one of Anna's favourite cities.
it is so good to see you guys breathing life back into these buildings with your relentless labor, passion, determination, and above all, your patience!!....B R A V O!!!
Thank you Robert!
Thank you for taking us along your European trip. It was delightful!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely to have you both back…great watch as always 😊
Thank you kindly!
Thank you for taking this old lady places I will never see! What a wonderful tour! I’ve always loved seeing castles and I saw everyone I had time to see it England, the only place I’ve been to in Europe! Your home country is beautiful, why would you want to leave?? The colors of the buildings are amazing!
I enjoyed all the work that’s getting accomplished! Well done!🧡🤍🧡
Glad you enjoyed it!
So many beautiful places to see and you're lucky to have them all so close by.
Yes we are very lucky, but there is beauty everywhere!
You guys are doing an amazing job the house, I wish I was there to help you guys. I love gardening, and cutting down trees and bushes and jungles. Thank you for sharing your Europe trip with us, Europe is so beautiful you are lucky to visit all these places.!! God bless you and your family.!!
Thank you! Im glad you liked it.
Really lovely videos in Europe. Gr🎉eat to see the garden area getting tidied up too - keep the neighbours happy. Well done and amazing progress on the render. What a huge difference that will make. 😊
So nice of you, thank you!
Progress in more ways than one. It is unbelievable so quickly as it grows. Indeed if everything grows there so quickly it will be a great spot for a vegetable patch.
It is so exiting to see slowly what it is going to become. My best wishes for you in the heat!
Thank you!
Yes there is a reason why the majority of the Italian food comes from this region.
So happy for you that things are getting closer to a place where maybe you can move in. I'm not a huge travel vlog person but you did a wonderful job. The music was lovely. Glad to have you back.
Thank you so much!! I know it's not for everyone therefore I ended with it, even though that section was longer than the actual video, haha.
@@VillaAroldi That's a really nice way to do it and tbh I thought, good, I'll just click out when the travel starts but it was so lovely and the music was great and I ended up really enjoying it! Thanks!
Nice to see you back🥰 Beautiful holiday vlog, I went to Bavaria when I was sixteen, crumbs that was 46 years ago. Such a beautiful place ❤️
✨🌞✨The works are looking great at home, and it was a delight seeing all the architecture on your adventure!
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful old buildings and castles in Sweeden! Thank you for the tour! ❤👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the lovely video! Your work is amazing and your European tour was just wonderful! Lots of familiar and deeply loved places.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it!
Love the inserts of your Europe travels as well as building your new life in Italy. I am watching from South Africa
Thank you
Im glad to hear!
Thank you for the lovely tour!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Been to Prague and the last two castles!......but so much more to see.....thank you
There really is!
Beautiful places though.
Thank you for sharing such beautiful sights from your European holiday, so well shot and labeled with such moving music. Brought back some great memories.
Im glad you liked it!
More beautiful places to add to my bucket list, thank you for sharing. 🌷
That is great! Im glad you liked it.
Also really enjoyed the Europe tour video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I am glad you liked it!
AND!, you guys are both very inspiring....LUV that you live and breath the "process" of revival......much respect and admiration!👋👋👋🙏❤
Thank you! That's exactly what we are trying to do, enjoy it as much as possible.
Stunning scenery, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent filming and music. Sweden is on my list of places to visit in the near future 😊
Thank you!
Yes, just make sure you visit in may-august as the weather is not great the rest of the year 😂
@@VillaAroldi thanks for the advice 😊
Love the old buildings. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the vlog, Europe is so pleasing to the eye, coming from the young country of Australia, i was in Italy in May, a few crowds, but noticed not many people around you.
That sounds great! Where did you go?
@@VillaAroldi Rome, Florence Milan & Paris ( family of 8 ) fantastic time.
@@maxinepearce4909 great choice of cities!!
...Beautiful and amazing vacation video!...Thanks for sharing!...❤😁
Im glad you liked it! We had a great time.
Time 18:23. Lund University was not founded in 1425, but in 1666. Uppsala University was founded in 1477.
Yes you are right, that's when it was an official University, but this could be found on Wikipedia: "The university is located in the city of Lund in the Swedish province of Scania. It traces its roots back to 1425, when a Franciscan studium generale was founded in Lund."
Almost a shirtless shot !!!! You are teasing 😂😂😂
😂
Europe is so much more dog friendly than the US. I loved seeing doggies everywhere when I traveled there. But locals did think I was the crazy American when I asked to pet their dogs.
Haha, yes it fairly friendly depending on what country you are in. Italy is by far the best country I have experienced when it comes to dogs, they love them and they are welcome everywhere!
Very nice vlogg, thanks you for sharing!
Thank you, Im glad you liked it!
Enjoyed your vacation video. I loved traveling in Europe . You need a Brush hog to take care of those weeds.
Yes we need some serious tools to keep the garden in shape!
The amount of work in front of you with the yard and the house facade is enormous. Hope you can get some help at some point. Very odd that the roofing company does not keep or stick to a schedule.. quite frustrating. Nice you were able to take a vacation amidst all the tasks, so much "old world" history in that neck of the woods- I enjoyed seeing the newer sculpture in Sweden tho!
Im glad you liked it!
Yes it's a lot of work and we will be getting help but removing the facade is "easier" than we thought it would be! Only problem is tools overheating but we might rent another one as soon as we start with the other sides.
Looking great!! Go Anna!!! Lots of progress for professional travelers!🤣😂Do people in Italy usually install baseboard or skirting board as the finished look at the bottom of a wall or is the norm just a solid plaster wall to the bottom?? 🤔 You have a green thumb in the garden
Yes she is amazing!
Id say they usually use skirting board if they use plaster boards which they rarely doo. Most of the houses here are built in stone.
Haha yes! It's very difficult to find anyone that has time to help out though and gardening is not really a priority unless we really need to use the space. I quite like the privacy we have at the moment with our "green walls".
😊😊😊😊
Glad to see you here Tony!
Not in the flip flops 😮😊
Haha exactly!
Witam kochani oj byliście tak blisko Śląska w Polsce oczywiście miasto Rybnik w którym mieszkamy z wielką przyjemnością byśmy ugościli dziękuję za piękne chwile spędzone z Wami serdecznie pozdrawiam
If only we knew! We drive there fairly often actually, every now and then we also drive through Poland, next time!
Can't believe you're complaining about the garden when Anna had been trying to deal with it since back when her father was visiting.
Haha
Well, there is really no point spending anytime doing anything in the garden more than making it accessible for whatever work that needs to be done, taking care of the garden is last on the agenda of things to do.
Like.
✌
Didn’t take long for the weeds to thicken up.
Haha, it really didn't!
I like the piano music better than the mournful voice music. 🎶
Im glad you liked it, everyone has different taste so I am sure some won't like it 😂
Would hiring a mobile goat service be a good option for clearing the overgrown yard?
Haha, Im not sure a goat would handle the backyard 😂
@@VillaAroldi they bring in like 100 goats. The yard would be cleared to the ground in 2-3 days. It’s really amazing.
Whose head is depicted in the sculpture at 19:45? Is it someone specific?
Beautiful scenery and buildings!
It's called "Anna", here is some more info: pilane.org/en/index.php
Might I suggest renting goats from a local farmer to help with your over grown lawn issues. 😊
😂 it's not a bad idea! The problem is it's not really a lawn it's just random weeds.
Are those plants edible?
Im not sure and I am not willing to try 😂
But if they are we would be able to feed a smaller country!
@@VillaAroldi by the way, I think you should split the renovation and travel videos. I think I've heard that video completion ratings are an important statistic. A few splices here are nice for the renovation videos that cover a few weeks.
@@NOLAfugee I think you are right actually!
I was a bit torn if I were supposed to do that for this video or not but I will for sure do it for the next one, just do an "extra" episode of travel for those who are interested.
@@VillaAroldi I don't have a channel myself, but you'll see if it makes any difference. I still like my upstairs bedroom idea so the downstairs can be dry storage.
Yes but the downstairs till be a gym, but for the foreseeable future it will function as our bedroom and living room once it's ready to live in so that we can focus on the Villa. Then when that's liveable we will live there and convert the stables to the gym it is supposed to be and then the last thing we'll do is turning the upstairs into an apartment.
So good to see you back! Skipping right to the traveling you did, I would absolutely love Sweden ...so beautiful.
Much love from Phoenix 🏜️❤..always enjoying your vlogs. p.s. the building in Sweden that had the carved details...wow
Thank you!
Not sure which one of the buildings you ment, there are quite a few houses in Sweden with carved details.
Okay I'm 12 minutes in on your latest video. These are my thoughts that probably nobody will be honest enough to write. I can't believe that you let your "garden" grow to such extreme. What did you think would happen when you left? Really what? It's too funny. You need to hire a local contractor to move you along at a better pace. At your pace God only knows when you will be done. Now if this is just a hobby then you are moving along at a good clip. I have to ask what do you do for a living? Your pockets must be pretty deep for you to move ahead at a snails pace. Now DIY is great, I do what I can but when it's out of range I hire the right people. You have to understand why almost nobody will work for you, don't you? The locals are watching you struggle and laughing at you my friend. Really take a step back and think about it. When I watch your videos I know I'll have a good laugh. Thank you for those. Now you brought back your poor father to break his fucken back to help you while you and your wife take a trip throughout Europe and let your property go to shit. You have no shame my friend. And then you have your wife remove the facade of the house while you go into town. Really!!
These are my thoughts 12 minutes in. Okay now I'm ready for the next 17 minutes. You know honesty sucks so please don't hate me for being honest. And I know being from NYC I have no filter.
I wouldn't blame my lack of upbringing on NYC, it's too easy to do that.
Don't you think my wife has her own saying?
She is an independent woman with her own free will, if she wants to remove the facade I will let her do that. We don't have a caveman relationship where I tell her what to do and not to do.
As for the garden it does not really matter what happens to it as we are getting bulldosers in at a later stage to redo the whole thing.
We are in no hurry whatsoever to finish our house, it's not a race but something we do because we enjoy it, sure there are certain things we want done fast but we in general we are not in a rush and if you cant come with some sort of constructive advice or you really do not have to comment, I am surprised i actually spent such a long time even answering you.
@@VillaAroldi I love your sense of humor really I do. I know answering my comments was a highlight of your morning. It’s what narcissists do instead of introspection.
I never accused you of having a caveman mentally, maybe you should have filmed the both of you removing the facade and filmed a small clip of going into town together. Just a thought.
Anyway I wish you continued positive thoughts in building your dream home.😊🙏✌🏻
@@TAG993 Thank you!
No, I actually went in to town myself and she stayed and did work on the facade, she wants to do it herself and I will let her do that.
She only does as much as she is capable off, Im sure she wouldn't do it if it were to cumbersome for her.
