  • Take a ride for a few laps of Waldo MX. I don't enjoy this track because it has no berms. They want us to tip toe around all the corners. BORING.

    Incredible riding xr650r best bike in the world. Baja/ Dakar pedigree. A monster of a machine. I’ve raced them on race tracks against super bikes. Toured Scotland. Europe. And used my XR650r at the isles of man TT. I’ll probably take it across Switzerland and over the alps to Italy next.

    I’m 40 now. Spent my youth riding until 2002 when I took a year off for my back to heal, I broke l4 l5 and S1. Needless to say, that 1 year turned into 19 years when I bought my xr600. Little did I know how capable the bike truly is. I’m scrubbing doubles and coaching my friends on their brand new 250 2 smokers . Seeing you on that XR is awesome. You’re an excellent rider and your videos are inspiring.

    I've pull out my brand new 2003 XR650R I bought in 03' to ride the Trans continental Trail. From Colorado to the Oregon cost. Never did it but maybe the summer will do with friend who just bought a KTM 890Adv. R. Bought a new sub frame to beef up with extra tubing to hold all the gear. Had Baja Design wire the stator for 2 ea. 125 watt circuits and just replaced the fork and shock seals plus heavier spring both sides. Never used a compression release so that will be interesting. Kick starting? Hope its easy. I had 2ea. CR500 for 15 years so I hope I can do it without to much trouble but now getting to 60 years of age.

    I love seeing all of the XR650R content! I love knowing there are others that take it on the MX track and do well with it too. I use mine for MX, trails and play riding. Its fun. This bike and my CR500AF are my favorite bikes for sure. I have an 08 CRF450R too but I still prefer the XR and 500. I hope to see more of this content in the future. You have my sub.

    I have an XR250R, but I'm not fast like this guy. Watching this movitates me to try more than I currently do. I often don't try jumps cause I think the bike can't handle it. But this guy was absolutely riding Waldo, and it was impressive to watch. Great riding.

    Nice rip on the XR! The no berms thing is a bit odd, but I would prefer it on my KTM 790 Adventure if they'll allow me on that track with it, LOL! Recently sent it flyin' at the sandy Lazy Springs MX track in Lehigh Acres, FL with "MotoBroo" Lars. 😎

    First I would like to say that I love your videos you're doing a great job motorcycles in my opinion are 75% Rider 25% machine that's what makes you good oh, I would like to share a little history with you my name is Mike I'm now 51 years old I live in Jacksonville Florida I first started riding dirt bikes at the ripe old age of seven have my first motocross race at the age of 9. I was fortunate enough to have one of those cool dads the one when you open the door of the garage you got to dunebuggies three ATC 200s and countless dirt bikes, dad was a factory CZ Ryder in the 60s and 70s Hare scrambles, I remember being a teenager hell I think I was only 16 or 15 years old at the time I went from riding to Strokes to a Woods bike my dad got a 1986 xr600r practically brand-new with a broken camshaft! He picked it up super cheap back in the day. Pulled the head off and sent it to a company called Power roll had their race cam put in the head port and Polished and cut, never did anything to the piston the complete bottom end bone stock I can't remember what carburetor we used but we did away with the two carburetor setup and used a flat slide carburetor which was pretty much state-of-the-art at that time, we didn't have internet back then poweroll used to run their ads in dirt bike magazines and also dirt Wheels magazine we also did the same thing to a ATC 350X which was also fast. After 4 months poweroll sent the head back we also purchase their custom-built stainless exhaust with a supertrapp tunable ring silencer the moral of my story is to this day that was one of the most hardest hitting four strokes I ever rode. have to remember four strokes were not very popular back in the 80s they were kind of a cuss word if you showed up at a racetrack with them definitely was not a match for a kx500 or CR 500 during these years but the moral of my story is that bike with me on it was one of the greatest combinations I've ever owned! After riding it I could get on my KX250 and just rip the tracks and trails. The bike was so tall and I was so short I would get it cranked up put my left foot up on The foot Peg let the clutch out as the bike was moving I would swing my right leg over so glad I got the experience this just wanted to share this story with you I sure do miss that bike in fact I miss all my old bikes I wish I would have kept every one of them, but now it 51 believe it or not I'm still riding an Yamaha xt250 Endura it's so funny I hit the trails in Ocala my son and his friends are in their twenties, when we are done riding they always say wow that thing's pretty impressive, I always comment back no it's not the bike that's impressive it's the rider!

    • @kings17court
      @kings17court Год назад

      I'd like to know, too. Especially regarding the suspension. I ride an XR250R and feel limited on jumps. Even small one make me come down like a ton of bricks. If I could hit the downside perfectly I'm probably alright, but short or long and it's brutal.

      @@AUSTIN_457 they are far from tanks. The reason you don't hear about a lot of them breaking is because there's not a lot of people racing them. I've had transmission problems in every one of owned. And since the parts aren't manufactured any longer you're constantly hunting for parts.

      @@fastguysslowbikes I don't blame you one bit for taking the summers off. This Florida heat/humidity is brutal during the summer, and at 54, I can't handle the heat like I used to. I get these things called "heat headaches," or "old man headaches" from getting hot and staying hot that don't go away no matter what, until the next day. No amount of hyrdration helps.
