- Jurors deliberated for a little under an hour before delivering their guilty verdict against Jose Ruiz, who is charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury in connection with the death of 5-year-old Mercedes Losoya in February 2022. He was sentenced to life in prison.
He deserves every second of his sentence RIP Mercedes

Grandma needs a box of tissue to dry all those tears, lady please. Everyone in the family knows something but do nothing until something happens and then all of a sudden, everyone is crying 😒😒😒😡. He got what he deserves and hopefully mom will get the same. Rest in peace baby girl 🙏❤.
His brother was sitting there laughing and making faces at Jose because of him flirting with the longhaired defence assistant...horrible family, that holds not even 1 gram of Accountability, Shame, or Integrity amongst them all.

Every adult failed that child. The adults she lived with knew that the mother never even took the children to school. That uncle was a real joke. He and his wife could have done more. They had some responsibilities because they saw how the mother treated the child and the did nothing. 😢
You should have gotten your granddaughter. I got mine granddaugher from her mother without hesistation. No intervention from the courts. She was 3 months, and now she is 21. I raised her without any help. Her mom was too wild, I saw my granddaughter's future with mom. Shame on you guys for leaving that baby to suffer at the hands of two horrible people. No one would have stopped me from getting her. No job or anything, She deserved a life. May she Rest in Peace with the LORD!

His lawyer was filling frivolous after frivolous motion. Why the Judge didn’t hold her in contempt for filing frivolous motions is beyond me. I honestly think that lawyer has a long end game plan.
Poor old old sick lady she need to go to her retirement home and sat baking or something and just leave the profession

The Great great grandmother had only been able to see the older gir (Jordan)l twice and Mercedes once or maybe twice before she died.

Well how often was the great grandma ever permitted to see this baby? You've got to catch a visual to see something is going on. Or did the great grandma just stay away because she new what was going on. I believe it to be my first statement. Mother doesn't have to bring baby to see great grandma and also doesn't have to open door if she stopped by. What I really want to know is how the neighbors for the longest time heard her cries in pain and a mother there telling her to shut up and knock it off,hearing slaps to the child,ect and NONE of the neighbors even called the police to at least do a well check? And the neighbors didn't even call CPS either. I understand that ppl don't like to get into other ppls business but come on man, it's not like she was 9 or 10 yrs old and could run away while the adults sleep. This little girl could still be alive today. I'm just completely heartbroken for the baby girl. R I.P....In the arms of the Angels.

It takes a special type of either extremely weak, sick, or both to sit back and allow your child to be tortured to death by your bf or gf.. these two are gonna have a tough time in prison

He’s definitely gonna appeal I think that’s why he didn’t show no emotions
that’s what his defense team has been setting up for since before the trial.
Appeals mean nothing. He will NEVER be released.
Six generations of “FAILED” motherhood. Mercedes didn’t stand a chance. Although she had a horrible mother, she also had four generations of “additional” mothers including, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and great-great-great grandmother (ALL relatively young)….who also “FAILED” her. There’s some serious generational curses and trauma occurring in this family that needs to be broken.
