Translations outside of the KJV in some cases change one or two words and it changes the meaning of the passage. These newer translations are usually geared towards a futurist eschatology. It’s all designed to deceive and confuse.
In order of ease - NIV, ESV, KJV. I also use NLT sometimes for comaprison but i have found it changed meanings in at least a dozen places that I noticed. One of major note being the parable of the lamp under the basket.
I prefer the NKJV over the KJV, but for signs or stickers the KJV is better. Ex. Psalm 91:4 Most translations say pinions, but the KJV says feathers, and uses thees and thous. I do agree completely agree with the other two, but I've never used the NLT.

There are NT Bibles that have four versions side by side. If you are serious, start there, and with a good Greek interline and concordance with it. And remember what the lady said. Stay away from bibles written by church groups, such as denominations.
What people forget about in trying to explain which translations are better forget one important GOD spoken Holy Spirit inspired commands, is God's ways and thoughts aren't ours to decide. Think, God demands Reverence! Why would God allow you to call Him as we would call each other?. So if this is so why would God need us to Speak and read of Himself as we would. Hebrew kept God as God and mankind as mankind. Even through a man inspired God still speaks supernatural not Logic or Wise, only both. And if we as creation take the reverence from His word to fill our feelings or knowledge, we change His Wisdom to see the differences from God and everything else. The KJV at least keeps the reverence and separations obvious. Think God is plain not added to in reverence even if the languages of man change. Tower of Babel was a change not a separation of reverence in Supernatural. SPIRIT IS SPIRIT, flesh is flesh. Even Jesus spoke to the Father in reverance not as a man to a man but as mankind to GOD and all His Holy righteousness.
I'm an expert data analysist. For most of my life I believed that there wasn't a 'best' or 'perfect' translation. However, after extreme calculation and 100s upon 100s of hours studying this subject, the only conclusion I could come to based on the trace-evidence left behind from a divine author in unexplainable and unobtainable (by human hands) numerical anomalies correlating to specific mentions or deep meanings or the overall structure - that The King James Version is mathematical perfection which is woven unlike anything the English language has ever seen in the history and ever will see. When the factors are placed across a string of advanced mathematical equations, the chances of that book being produced by approximately 50 people spread across 6 groups with separate assignments, the odds of the KJV being written without divine authorship is so low that it effectively rounds to 0. The chances of mankind itself having authored that book, are effectively 0 when additional factors are considered, such as the need to stay true to original texts while still maintaining the extremely precise (out of this world) mathematical patterns of perfection. This is simply impossible with even the best technology we have today, including any and all language models. One of the thousands of examples, is from cover-to-cover, title, verse numbers, full book titles and all....it's 823,543.....or 7 to the 7th power (7x7x7x7x7x7x7). That is not even scratching the surface, however. Love your vids btw! I definitely don't this as a salvation issue whatsoever, however, I feel like more deserve to know the truth and minor (and sometimes not so minor) but serious changes & differences across different 'translations'. Personally, I prefer the NKJV, but I also like the NASB & KJV. I most certainly DO NOT like paraphrases at all. About 20 y/ago I did a sort of experiment over a couple of months. I got lots of different translations, including the Douay-Rheims, & read the same Scriptures in all of them. The ones which said the same things, even though they may use different words (but synonyms to each other), I put on one side. Those which continuously said anything different, I put on the other side & didn't use them again. The paraphrases were in that pile. Other than that, I'd say get one of whichever translation your pastor uses. One church I attended, although a Baptist Church as I am a Baptist, I had my NKJV but the pastor used another. I couldn't keep up with him! I got lost almost immediately!! If I were reading both of them myself, as in my experiment, I probably wouldn't have a terrible problem, but reading NKJV but hearing, IDK, say NLT, it just confoozled me! It got easier after time, but why make it stressful on yourself? I wish I could read Hebrew, Aramaic, & Greek so I could read the original words, but I can't. NKJV & NASB are good choices for me though.
There are a variety of Catholic Bibles which would be good for people to read as they have 7 extra books in the Old Testament called the Deuterocanonical Books: 1 and 2 Maccabees, Sirach, Wisdom, Baruch, Tobit, and Judith. Fr. Mike Schmitz has a RUclips channel and Podcast called Bible in a Year which he reads each day for 365 Days and there is an accompanying Bible that you can purchase to follow along called The Great Adventure Catholic Bible by Ascension Press. If you can learn Hebrew and Greek and get a green's interlinear bible would offer you the best for getting original language, However most are not the scholarly (and no shame in that) If you have a 1611 Kings James English translation with a Strong's concordance this will help any reader take the English back to the Hebrew Greek and Aramaic. Also a trusted study bible from E.W. Bullinger is a good work to use for your English KJV. Most EST and NIV have been incorrect in English translation and should be avoided.

Which is why a 500 year old bible now reads the wolf, instead of Lion in Isaiah 11:6... 45:7 now says Yah created evil, used to say punishes... A bible that's copyrighted is questionable. 1st. It's copyrighted so someone can make money. 2nd if it's really about helping people find GOD let everyone have it for free. 3rd you have to change quite a bit to get a new copyright on the bible sometimes the wrong word is used because their avoiding using the same words other translations used. Not because they are the best words. 4th listen to someone like Brandon Peterson who makes a convincing case that the kjv is inspired. 5th the kjv has alot of associated material concordance dictionaries etc.
I wouldn't call such sects "denominations." The word "denomination" refers to different parts of the same religion. In this case, the "denominations" are parts of Christianity such as the Pentecostal denomination or the Messianic Jewish denomination. However, the two you mentioned are not Christian religions. They may claim the name "Christian" but they are actually different religions altogether.
I'm currently using esv and niv but I'll always have a soft spot for nkjv cause their last update was in 1984. So I know all copies will be the same. Whatever version is used in the pulpit imo.

More study will be required, when I can find the time. It is good to lovingly and patiently discuss these issues. In doing so, however, we do need to be careful not to “throw the baby out with the bath water.”
Also watch out for male dominated translations that do not give women the freedom Jesus gave them - “there is neither slave nor free, male nor female…” Many translations were written to suppress women in the Church.
The readers ability to read has to be considered. Poor readers are best suited to use an NLV or NIV in my opinion, along side whatever translation their local church uses.
Gotta admit, my main Bible is a KJV. I may not be an onlyist, but it never failed me. This and NKJV were the ones I read early on. Quite frankly, I don't like the removal of certain verses in the modern translations. That's my main issue. I also like to compare with NIV, NASB, ESV on the YouVision app. Maybe someday I'll study Hebrew and/or Greek, but that's not a main priority in my life right now. I am grateful my church has a pastor that seeks to be accurate to the context and brings up the meaning of certain words in the original language. If something seems difficult in Scripture, just pray and research the meaning. The Bible really is trustworthy. 💛

I grew up on the KJV. So, it's _"chicken soup for the soul"_ for me. If I'm just reading, or quoting, I use the KJV. But, I realized long ago, that it has its limitation. The KJV is poetry, it's beautiful literary English. But, it's not literal scripture. As Melissa said, when it comes to formulating interpretations, we're stuck with original language only. But, all of the mainstream translations, are in quality of translation, better than most non-scriptural translations that you can find. It's those nuances, those layers of meanings, that any translation from one language to another misses, and why original language is important.

No verses were left out. Those were notes from scribes of earlier manuscripts. ❤ The kjv translation is built on an older manuscript which these notes were incorporated. Some bibles will have footnotes on this. And some Study bibles will also include this

the one that is best is the one that you can understand and that adhears to the original hebrew and greek texts. i like the International childrens bible, but my main authority that settles biblical disputes is the KJV. If that doesn't get it, go to hebrew and greek
They weren't in the early manuscripts found in the dead sea scrolls so were not included. Most probably the removed verses were later additions by a scribe.
Original manuscripts in Greek and Hebrew had no verses or chapter, this issue was resolved by removing what wasn't there to begin with during middle english times.
Although I love sister Melissa, I don't agree with this. She is wrong on this and so was I up until a couple years ago. I still use the NLT for teaching newbies in the fate because of its simplicity. But I always go to the KJV for doctrine and to reprove the NLT... maybe she (like I used to) accepted that these scholars and historians are correct... But the truth is that there are two sets of manuscripts the majority text and the minority text.... The majority comes from the antiochIan manuscripts and the minority text is based off the Alexandrian Egypt text... And unlike popular opinion amongst historians, the Alexandrian text are not older and this can be proved with church. Father writings referring to verses. They say we're at it later, but we're referred to hundreds of year before the Alexandrian text.
Hi Melissa, I really enjoy and am edified by much of your content. Naturally I don’t always agree with you, nor with anyone for that matter. This video for example is one that I disagree with. I believe that God by his special providence was able to keep his inerrant word as inerrant as it was when the originals once existed, and not only that but he was able to use his people (however imperfect that they were) to take a text that was in 2 languages and bring it into one language that would become the worlds dominant language all while still keeping his word as inerrant as it was in the beginning in the form of the King James Bible. In order to believe in biblical preservation you can’t add caveat’s like “but only the overall message or doctrines are preserved” or “it is only preserved in the originals” (which doesn’t make sense because the originals no longer exist) it is necessary to believe that it has been fully preserved or else by definition you only believe that it has been partly preserved. I believe that in order to know where God’s words are you need to identify where God’s people are and have been because they are the ones who will be moved by the Holy Spirit to preserve his word as accurately as possible because they love his word, this points largely to the majority readings. Now God never promised that everyone or that all believers would always have access to all of his word, nor have they, he just promised that he would preserve his word and so out of many ancient manuscripts and writings he led his people to create one principle book that could not be accepted against out of many nor quite perfect sources, (which is how God preserved it) until it was time to reveal it to the world in complete inerrant form at the time of the reformation era. For hundreds of years it was the standard among God’s people, until it was usurped by people who did not believe in biblical inerrancy with a different Greek text. In any case regardless of whether or not you are persuaded by the case I’ve made, I count you as a sister in Christ and believe that you make great content that is a service to God’s people, God bless.
The ESV was created by Reformed ( Calvinist pastors) and it has footnotes specific to Reformed theology and doctrine. Just be aware, the Reformed have different doctrinal views than "mainstream" Christianity (free-will).

NLT was my first Bible and I really like it. I also acquired a Jack Hayford study Bible I really like.

The Disciples Literal New Testament is an amazing word for word one. Highly recommended.

Have you checked out the NET translation? Great word study Bible, not a 'subject study' type Bible

Hebrew translations do not have as many “ additions “ from popes or kings …. Niv or Nking James is my choice.
I like the original KJV, It has poetic rhythm, Bible truth, easier to memorize I love , sometimes I compare it to others!

No verses were left out. Those were notes from scribes of earlier manuscripts. ❤ The kjv translation is built on an older manuscript which these notes were incorporated. Some bibles will have footnotes on this. And some Study bibles will also include this

the one that is best is the one that you can understand and that adhears to the original hebrew and greek texts. i like the International childrens bible, but my main authority that settles biblical disputes is the KJV. If that doesn't get it, go to hebrew and greek
I like NASB 1977 and the ESV, but I keep hearing good things about the NLT from Believers whose opinions I respect, so I will check it out.

What about missing Bible verses and words from all the modern Bible translations? Such as 1 John 5:7.
They weren't in the early manuscripts found in the dead sea scrolls so were not included. Most probably the removed verses were later additions by a scribe.

Original manuscripts in Greek and Hebrew had no verses or chapter, this issue was resolved by removing what wasn't there to begin with during middle english times.
Although I love sister Melissa, I don't agree with this. She is wrong on this and so was I up until a couple years ago. I still use the NLT for teaching newbies in the fate because of its simplicity. But I always go to the KJV for doctrine and to reprove the NLT... maybe she (like I used to) accepted that these scholars and historians are correct... But the truth is that there are two sets of manuscripts the majority text and the minority text.... The majority comes from the antiochIan manuscripts and the minority text is based off the Alexandrian Egypt text... And unlike popular opinion amongst historians, the Alexandrian text are not older and this can be proved with church. Father writings referring to verses. They say we're at it later, but we're referred to hundreds of year before the Alexandrian text.
The NLT is one that uses gender neutral language in certain spots. Plus it is a translation that was based on updating the Living Bible.

Naturally I don’t always agree with you, nor with anyone for that matter. This video for example is one that I disagree with.
I believe that God by his special providence was able to keep his inerrant word as inerrant as it was when the originals once existed, and not only that but he was able to use his people (however imperfect that they were) to take a text that was in 2 languages and bring it into one language that would become the worlds dominant language all while still keeping his word as inerrant as it was in the beginning in the form of the King James Bible.
In order to believe in biblical preservation you can’t add caveat’s like “but only the overall message or doctrines are preserved” or “it is only preserved in the originals” (which doesn’t make sense because the originals no longer exist) it is necessary to believe that it has been fully preserved or else by definition you only believe that it has been partly preserved.
I believe that in order to know where God’s words are you need to identify where God’s people are and have been because they are the ones who will be moved by the Holy Spirit to preserve his word as accurately as possible because they love his word, this points largely to the majority readings.
Now God never promised that everyone or that all believers would always have access to all of his word, nor have they, he just promised that he would preserve his word and so out of many ancient manuscripts and writings he led his people to create one principle book that could not be accepted against out of many nor quite perfect sources, (which is how God preserved it) until it was time to reveal it to the world in complete inerrant form at the time of the reformation era.
For hundreds of years it was the standard among God’s people, until it was usurped by people who did not believe in biblical inerrancy with a different Greek text.
In any case regardless of whether or not you are persuaded by the case I’ve made, I count you as a sister in Christ and believe that you make great content that is a service to God’s people, God bless.
I use the cev translation for most of the old testament and esv for new testament.

The ESV was created by Reformed ( Calvinist pastors) and it has footnotes specific to Reformed theology and doctrine. Just be aware, the Reformed have different doctrinal views than "mainstream" Christianity (free-will).
