Hey Melissa: I am an ex-Mormon. Goes back to them coming from England in my great-grandparents sides. Both. I wish I could talk to you. You are really helping me! Mini Mormon gods and Planet Kolob is laughable. Some of the most intelligent people I know buy this - including my deceased father whom I was extremely close to. There is so much to unpack here and it's been with me my entire life. I am now a Born Again. Thank you Jesus.

There are so many things in the Bible that get twisted by "new agers". I was one of them! I even bought a Bible to prove to Christians that things I was doing, as a new ager, was good and right by their own book. I never had a single person challenge me. That's why messages like this are so important. For this reason I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to read your Bible and KNOW what the Word says... lest you be deceived. I don't like going to church anymore, mainly because I've had neck surgery @20 after a car accident when I was 18, and i just can't get comfortable if I have to sit for a long time. Really? How about when context shows... There never was multiple Gospels by multiple authors. The Gospel was originally one book, written by Lazarus in consultation with the Apostles [John 21:24] and published soon after Jesus left them on their own. The religion was hijacked by Rome, the Gospel was broken up scrambled adulterated into a bunch of competing narratives. Later four of those adulterated gospels were canonized with falsely ascribed authorship and a Gnosticism cover-story. It was the finding of an original Gospel of Jesus scroll in Jerusalem that gained the Knights Templar power over the Church and their eventual undoing when the church finally retaliated against them Friday 13th.

My pastor was preaching just a few weeks ago about voices. He said everything has a voice, money, food, ect ect. But then he talked about how God also has a voice, an audible and an inaudible voice. And then explained a few examples of when he had heard both.
It reminded me that I wasn't crazy. Because I myself have heard the inaudible voice of God several times.
He told me decades in advance extremely detailed and highly improbable things that would happen to me in my life, and the voice was exactly right.
So I other words I believe you because I've also heard the inaudible voice of God numerous times.
I've never heard him audibly though but some people do. It was more like a conversation inside me that was simultaneously in me but also separate from
      Me.

I had a somewhat similar experience in 2006 hearing the audible voice of God (the only time I heard His voice). A few months later I had a life-changing supernatural experience with Jesus Christ. He too showed me my unholy and sinful state. Jesus also communicated to me by some method that didn't use words that: He is alive and very real, that He is the same yesterday today and forever, He is Perfect and Unchanging, that He is the Alpha and the Omega, that He was resurrected and rose from the dead and that He is the Way the Truth and the Life. He also put in me the desire to from Genesis to Revelation. All of this happened in the space of 3 or 4 seconds. I've never been the same since that morning. Hallelujah.

Extremely well done. I pray the rest of her videos are as thoughtful and informative, and she is absolutely correct, context is key. It also helps to understand that the Bible is God’s word, not man’s, and should be understood in its totality and not as a bunch of unconnected, individual manuscripts. She did a great job explaining why this is so important. A big thumbs up.

Glad I came across this video. I've been finding more content like this that emphasizes the importance of context and reading the entirety of the books.
I used to read some of those new age books, and would be challenged to think about the potentials that God has for us. Take, for instance, the miracle of the seven fish and seven loaves becoming enough to feed the massive crowd. Well, what exactly was being taught that day that the people forgot to prepare for dinner? Could it have been some things as simple as using pressure point therapies to heal ailments or, possibly, energy healing? I've experienced these things in person, so maybe we do have minor level powers to help each other while still acknowledging that we're not gods. I'm still looking for that part of the answer.
Great video, though. Keep it up!

Amen Melissa. I only wish I could inspire my wife, a believer to study with me. I follow a few expository preachers and have a website that goes through Scripture and explains the things you are telling others. Thanks for sharing what you’re learning! The Greek and Hebrew languages as well as context are so important to understanding Scripture. Again thank you!

Great job with this context. Another way to look at it is that Jesus was asking them to compare his works with theirs. He, being a perfect “man”, had a track record to look upon and they knew it. No one had any dirt on Jesus because as a man he actually did what His Father said to do and walked it out daily. His confidence was not only in his deity but also in his humanity as a Jew. Fantastic stuff! Keep it up. You are an inspiration.

Lost 2 good friends over these verses. They both thought if they had the faith, they could indeed speak things into existence. One was silly enough to suggest we could still be close because “love is all you need, right?”! Ahh, NO! What has light to do with darkness? Nothing.

Excellent video. I looked into the concept of “divine council” after hearing someone say that’s what the scriptures are referring to in Genesis 1:26 with “let US make man in our image” (emphasis added). For me, a simple reading in context of Psalm 82 and Gen 1 dispels this concept.

VERY good!! Was hoping you would add more to the Exodus reference (it gives Elohim an understanding in context of gods, judges, and The Trinity). Also, awesome ending. I was waiting for you to add perfection in the point (elevating humanity to god-like would have to assume it, if working with equality to Jesus and The Father; or demote God to imperfection as there is no one here who is).

Not just New Agers and Mormons, but the little-god charismatics.

    • @Tyler-gb5sl
      @Tyler-gb5sl 10 месяцев назад

Did you know Billy Graham considered himself a charismatic? He thought all Christians experiencing the joy of the Lord should be filled with charisma. Why are you trying to divide the body of Christ with pointless argument? The little god idea actually has some merit based on psalms 8:4-8 and it appears again in Hebrews 2:5-8 (rulers) or ( stewards) or (gods) - (elohims). Over creation. Which Christ bought us back so we can live as redeemed saints being trained in righteousness. It’s about your significance to the one true God.
