When you go over by $500 a month that’s actually pretty fixable. I would look at the last 6 months and how much they spent on each category of their budget and she’s where the over spending is happening. Most people could save by cutting coffee, fast food, convenience foods, streaming services, and a few other luxuries. Also if they have 4 kids they should have a big garage sale with all that baby and toddler stuff as their youngest outgrows it all. I just made $1000 having a big garage sale. That’s baby step #1 right there.
I hear you but like mentioned they have 4 kids. They decided to have that many kids but it is still a sucky situation for the family. Cutting costs is a perfectly reasonable thing but with 6 people to clothe and feed 100k can still make things tight. One or both can pick up side gigs to knock it out and I don't always agree with them about selling cars because if you get something different and cheap it's a roll of the dice, they just need to hammer out these debts and getting rid of the car payment is big.

I know this opinion may not be popular but IF they can be disciplined and not go back to credit cards it might be worth looking at a debt consolidation loan, even a small one to pay off some of the smaller cards. I did something like this against my retirement which isn’t the best idea but I was able to pay off most of my credit card debt and it was pushed down into a smaller time frame and saving money each month. Nothing in this call indicates they have an unsustainable amount of debt. $20k car loan on a $100k income is not out of line. $20k student loan to make a $50k salary is not out of line. Yes, the credit card debt needs their immediate attention. My guess? With four kids, their daycare expense is eating up a significant portion of their income. - probably in the $25 - 30k range. So yes, they need to do a detailed budget to figure out exactly where all their money is going. That is a good first step. They didn't delve into the type of construction work that the husband does, but also yes, he can tap into that skill set to earn extra money. 4 kids wouldn't be a problem if they didn't have all the debt. The credit card debt alone is a killer. They're obviously maxed out. So they play the game of making minimal payments, but turn right around to max it out again.
Take a hit on the credit score, and stop all payments on the cards except 1. Cut costs, don't go crazy at christmas, and throw everything you can at that one card. Then move on to the next one. Use all that child tax credit to your advantage come tax season, and put it towards the remaining cards. Then tackle the car payments, then student loans. It can be done within two years on the salary they make, and cutting all unnecessary expenses.

To all future parents; don’t have 4 kids when your income is only 100k combined because that is NOT enough when you factor in student loans, car loans and other loans.
It depends. If you make over 100k & both got scholarships and worked your way through school and bought your cars for cash and don’t carry a credit card balance, you can afford 3-4 kids easily. Especially if one of you is only working part time so you don’t have to pay for daycare for those kids. I do think in their case they only make $50k or so each being full time, that’s not great. Because they have multiple kids in daycare and that’s expensive. If you don’t need daycare or have debt, 100k or so goes much further!!
She has a bachelors degree, so should know basic math and set a budget, all you need is a 5th grade education. But people don't want to make sacrifices they want to YOLO, well have fun with that when you're broke in your 60's on the cusp of "retirement"
It looks like in this situation one wants to get out of debt and the other doesn't. If they're both not on board, it's not going to work well. A rollercoaster is fun for a while, but hard to deal with in the financial department if one saves and the other doesn't.
This video has inspired me to buy a brand new Tesla.
His pull-out game is weak
u ain't never lied. or perhaps, it's strong, and they would have had 6 kids potentially.
Idk most men are bullied into having multiple children by the woman, his family, and hers. My family tried and failed. My wife got on BC right after our daughter was born. If she wants to get off it at anytime, in getting snipped. But the BC has worked just fine
Life without kids is empty.
@@sitcomchristian6886 Having more kids to keep you from becoming lonely is not a good strategy for anyone, particularly broke people.
They would sell their HOUSE before selling their cars...
$2000 mortgage can go, $100k profit. pay the $60k. can be debt free in a month.
Oh FFS too many kids.
Have them when your older
As a woman, no guarantees. Fertility slows at 30, and then takes a nosedive at 35. They make six figures, they can have all the kids they want.
I'm a older guy I has one daughter she's 32 years old my ex wife had two kids from another man I'm glad we part way I'm 59 years retired from military I get social security and disability from the military I went to a technical college for heating and air conditioning I don't work now I don't college degree I'm renting now but I'm very financially stable got two retirement plans not much money I feel sorry for this couple because rasing kids cost a money and food is expensive car insurance is going to the roof and everything else just stick to a budget just pay bills that you can and don't worry about the rest
Hopefully she can look into velocity banking using the credit cards to wipe down the debt with using them but have all extra income on them. I was in very similar situation and just wasn't enough extra to make progress throwing onto them while still trying to budget and spent separately. After using the method of using the card for the expenses and throwing all income onto it, have been able to pay it down drastically and the cash back rewards negate the interest charged monthly since have a running balance on it.
That is debt, you really think that crap works? Dave had a segment on that and other scams.
@@alinatamashevich3354 Yes it works great if you are disciplined and stick to the plan just like the debt snowball. Both have a very similar basis approach of focusing all extra on to 1 debt until it is eliminated to free up your income to throw to next debt. Where most opponents are against it is with taking out a HELOC to use as the payment account. I don't do that, but use one of my cards and run bills and expenses thru it while keeping cash in bank account to pay anything that can't use the card to pay. You will still need to have math to work in your favor of more income coming in than lower expenses going out, but it can take the payment for that card out of the budget since already paying on the card anyway with the same money you would have budget for car insurance or groceries.
Stop keeping up with the Jones!!!
28 with 4 children is wild to me. Wow.
They haven’t told her to close her legs yet, but that’s step one
@@catherinewilke5583 Gross, woman. Way to keep it classy.
My suggestion: Start taking more cold showers and they should focus on keeping their damn legs closed.
Construction he has to be making more than 55k.
"what do YOU owe on your car?"
"I owe $20k"
"WE owe!!" 😂then ask the correct question. "what do BOTH of you owe?"
She's been driven for a month. Always find a way to trash the husband as always.
You can't be fixing the problem on one side of the issue and have another sabotaging everything you are accomplishing on the other side. You both have to be on the same page.
THAT IS REAL!
🎯💯
it baffles me how people get themselves in such a mess. 450k in savings, mortgage paid off in next 3months. Its all about planning, saving and investing.
Just wanna say Im glad that I found this channel and show and wished Id found you sooner. All thanks to my financial advisor and Ramsey, Im about to pay off my mortgage in full in 2 months and love how you all compliment each other and seem to have such a strong close knit community in the Ramsey family and beyond.
How can one find a verifiable financial Planner, I buy the idea of employing the services of a Financial Advsor?
the ONLY math that will save them would be them getting better jobs. they have too many kids with too little income. why they need 4 kids is beyond me.
Because children are gifts from God that we need to continue are species.
Then you pay their bills! I’m sick of my hard earned money getting taken in taxes to fund stupid people and their stupid decisions in the form of “welfare”!
@@lot2196 Yeah but you stlll have to pay for them every month. God is not paying out child support buddy
I mean that's not true at all lol, she can sell the car she owes 20k on and then they can easily deal with the rest. Their combined income is ~100k they can easily do this if they aren't retarded.
@@Isengrim24if you think having kids is expensive wait until everybody stops having kids and the economy slowly collapses.
This is one of my favorite channel. It always makes my week complete! 😊 Despite the economic downturn, I still manage to earn $25,000 weekly from my investment of $3,500 ..God bless *DaleValskov*

75k over what the house is worth?
Not in 2024.
A house is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I caught that comment too. I was assuming she meant 75K over what they owe on it.
He works construction. 99% chance he is addicted to trucks. Any amount he works extra will lead him to believe he “deserves” a new truck. I guarantee it!
Stop assuming.
Way would he want more cars?
You are thinking of the contractor.... He is a laborer @ construction making 55k year. He most likely is driving a beater to a travel center and meeting and riding with the boss to job sites. He doesn't have a car payment and she does.
That's most men in every generation always got to update the vehicles
🤣🤣🤣 so dead on
Downloaded the every dollar app and didn’t see any value to keeping it
28 and 4 kids, insane.
People really need to plan out how many kids they can afford before popping out 4 cos you wanted 4 and then trying to figure out how to keep things afloat afterwards. The whole concept of "we want 4 but we can only afford 2 so we're having 2" doesn't even occur to them, people just do whatever they want and then cry about the consequences of their actions.
You are so right
She better sale that $20,000 car
I imagine that many people either underestimate the costs of 4 OR they were doing fine until the income went down for whatever reason. Try using your brain for once. Life is not a video game.
Helpful, thanks Judge Judy.
Kids aren't the problem.
@@MrSteeDoothe group with the highest birth rates in the country are below the poverty line
Any chance she could transition to working from home and save on childcare? Also, I have found that making homemade bread has saved us significantly in groceries. I make a large meal every other day. The second day, we eat leftovers and a boule of homemade sourdough. Our grocery bill is always under budget now. Family of 5, single income. Don't listen to the bitter childless commentators lol
Come on, parents of 4 children are expected to work 24 hours and sell their car?
$100k is more than enough to live in fort myers, you just have to stop acting like you make $125k and can have anything that catches your eye without saving or budgeting.
$20,000 car is insane, financed car is insane, $20,000 student debt to make only $50k???
Hubby should definitely be making more, if he's gonna stay in construction better get good at a trade and learn how to make some money $55k is for people with no specialized skills or credentials or licensing.
