This has been going on for so much longer than reported. 😢😢 The motels on Magnolia have been dealing with people doing illegal activities as long as I can remember. So, if there is a next time to do a story, investigate deeper.

They probably know that, these people are mostly local. It's just their prerogative what time frame they report on. There's only so much time lol just bc its not included doesnt mean they didnt look into it. Back then the owners werent doing anything about it as well. But also, look up crime rates in knox. Theyve risen substantially so it IS worse now.
There are hotels like this everywhere...not just in "Knoxville".
Well, it is a Motel 6. And 3 star or lower ratings means avoid at all costs!
The motel on Chapman Highway that's next to the wendy's regularly has gang activity and prostitution happening. Very sad.

Obviously the motel operators don't care as long as they get the rooms filled. If they did, they would have their own security.
Well lool at the area where the hotels are you can't go to a hotel in a horrible area and expect it to be great..
It’s very difficult for out-of-towners to know which areas are sketchy. I’ve rented some bad places before on accident. It’s a coin flip.

I stayed there back in 2012 a couple of times . Knoxville is bad all over . I lived there for over 30 years
I know they stopped extended stay motels frrom renting monthly in Hamilton county tn and didn't know there was any place worse than Chatt I'm Chattanooga TN.
Its WAYYYY worse than its ever been. God be with us all

Well they just do survey and have a police officer take shifts there instead of having different cops come
I stay at the motel 6 all the time lol it's not that bad at all, the others are bad and they didn't even mention the "worst" ones, that one just has the most calls because it has wayyyy more rooms than all the others.

Look at the conditions of these hotels...that's what happen when we give foreigners free business, free money. They never take care of the hotels, restaurants, or quick marts. Every business owned by them looks horrible, run down.

They probably go there because, like they said, it’s cheap and they want to get away and have a date night to themselves and then head back home.

Motels in Florida have the same issue. It's a poverty problem mostly. Motels are the last step before homelessness.

"Not a place you want to be alone"... Welcome to the world of people from generations of poverty. The ppl interviewed have that choice. The ppl that are actually there usually don't. Is it drugs? Probably. Lets take the billions spent on bridges and make real mental health and rehab centers that treat people with respect.
Lots of people are poor, and they don't commit crimes.
