Why Design Is Important To Your Landscape Painting

Design (or composition) is the most important part of the landscape painting. So we need to focus less on the detail and start thinking of keeping the design throughout the whole painting. We can “finish” the painting with broken color and more variety of edges.

I was just looking at this thinking it looks like Missoula, MT. Is that the Big Flat area near Blue Mountain, looking towards the South Hills?

I was driving from Kalispell to Hamilton, this was closer to Hamilton, beautiful area.
