Fétiche (The Fetish) by Tony Murena & Emile Noblot

I'm playing from a 1948 Arpege Edition. This little musette delight possesses the most lyrical melody, and I managed to get it right about 99% of the time! I'm not one for any extreme perfection and take some liberties as long as it is nicely nuanced. I think I was able to do that here. MM: quarter note =192+. Tony Muréna (born 1917, died 1970) was an Italian-born musette accordionist, composer, and bandoneon musician. According to Wikipedia, his family emigrated to France in 1923 and settled in Nogent-sur-Marne. His uncle gave him his first accordion and he began a performing career assisted by his cousin Louis Ferrari (Domino). Muréna played in cabarets and music halls from an early age. Emile Noblot was an accordionist and composer in his own right. P.S. yes, the phone started to ring and threw me off in the final bars. Oh well, it was too good to toss out when everything else seemed ok. ;-) Played on my French musette tuned Virgilio Soprani "Silvoel", restored to perfection by George Bachich. It has LED lights on the inside grille where the valves are. 90 bass (no diminished row). Quite a compact little jewel!
