Un Giorno Ti Dirò composed by Gorni Kramer

Francesco "Kramer" Gorni (AKA Gorni Kramer) 1913-1995. He was a Parma conservatory trained musician and a multi-instrumentalist (accordion, piano, bass, woodwinds) as well as a composer. This canzone tango (Some day I will tell you) was published in 1936 in Milan, 1937 in New York. The Alfred Music Co. is said to have exchanged, shared, acquired his music via the cruise liners between Milan and New York. It was Fascist Italy and from what I've read, he had to get music passed censors who frowned on any American jazz influence. The version I play is based on a much later rendering by the Italian 50's crooner Nicola Artigliani. Thus, you'll hear the triplet ballad rhythm that was so popular during the era in which I grew up. Umberto Bertini's lyrics are impassioned longing to reveal how someone actually feels but is not able to express. The poetry of Bertini is so exquisite. "Vola, sull'onda profumata, la dolce serenata" Fly on the perfumed waves of a sweet serenade." This is my own arrangement from a transcription of the original and listening to Artigliani's version on RUclips.

Theo A Thanks. I do try to adhere to the composer's intention. What I worked from was the vocal lead sheet. It had incorrect chords inscribed but after listening to several versions, I was able to fill in the chord patterns. It was worth it!
