That first answer was such an AI response.

Yeah, I just found this video in my home feed, and as soon as he started reading that first response. It was written like an ai response, lol. Just reworded a tiny bit to sound different but not enough to not notice.

Thanks for the video bro, been watching your vids since I transitioned outside the military. Love your story man, I retired out of the military and went straight to working on becoming an Info security analyst. Just finished my degree and have a plethora of certs plus 6 yrs of IT experience, just actually got an Incident Response job offer man, thanks. Stay blessed

Congrats bro. I'm former military in school for cybersecurity and information management now. How did you attain your experience before finishing school?

@@yourname487 I got a job at a company right after the military. I also did IT while in as well

Great video! I appreciate that you took the time to look at each person's background to provide context behind their suggestions. I completely agree with you that it's not impossible to land greater than an "entry level" role as your first job in cybersecurity, but you do have to be creative and put in the WORK to prove yourself.

Im not trying to pay for a degree due to lack of money... but trying to get educated enough to get into cybersecurity, I too feel like im in over my head. I have little to no experience in engineering or anything, only an understanding for brackets, CSS/HTML.

Game changer🔥 Definitely enjoyed this video and really great explanations of the answers. Really liked how you walked through each one and explained what you would recommend at the end. Bookmarked this video and many others for future reference and for sure going to watch it again 😃 Thank you our guy and keep up the amazing work!

The SANS courses are only for the choosen ones - I mean at this cost I rather keep the money or invest in a alternative more affordable cert.

    Great video.
Just to be clear. E-7 is not guaranteed. It’s the possibility of a rank up to E-7. At the very least, it’s just a great marketing strategy to fill critical operational needs.
I highly doubt the Marine Corps will be handing out E-7 like candy, especially to random young civilians. Peace

Khotsyphom said, "Good question and happy to help. For entry level for such a role is first, motivation. The candidate must be willing to solve a puzzle. I look for activities where they looked for the answer vs waiting for the answer. An alert is the start of a hunt. What is the context behind it and around it? What does "weird" mean to the individual? Have they shown (outside coursework) that they keep tabs on the threat landscape? Do they follow popular cyber blogs and news sites? Everything else can be taught during onboarding. I'm a film believer in building the individual. Having built and grown a threat team I support growing talent."

Hey Bud, I think you came up with a very interesting video, asking the ones who know and hire was a smart way to find out what entry-level or junior really means for them. Thanks

Could you do a video on let's say 4 fake incidents like back to back of what someone in cyber would work on & explain if these are the type of tickets they would be handling all day?

Genuine question: Why is “engineer” appended to seemingly every role in cybersecurity?

    • @DayCyberwox
      @DayCyberwox  2 месяца назад +7

Engineers at their core design, build and solve problems through engineering practices. The roles have engineer because they expect you to do what an engineer does, build things & solve problems.

I guess I am lost Ive trying to get into cybersecurity and just the over all IT world I've been doing IT since 2009 through my prior jobs Ive always been the tech guy for most companies I worked for even though it was not my profession and I have a high motivation and forever a student always wanting to learn and learn and learn some more I'm passionate about it and cybersecurity is amazing field but I can't seem to ever get into the door despite how motivated I am and I am still applying for them as we speak hoping to get at least the door open but no one is giving me the chance to interview. I'm lost and do not know what to do to make it in.

I was hoping to like and subscribe but after just 3 minutes of viewing you've successfully alienated me with the annoyingly choppy editing and crazy playback speed. It's like you've put this together with AI. Not sure what you're trying to achieve here but I'm not sticking around to find out .
