    Hello Oli, looking sooooo fantastic like a real room, love the symmetry of the windows and when you said you were OK with the plug socket, I knew you would move it. Hope the wedding was good, look forward to your next episode. Best wishes Christine x

      It’s actually not that bad in person, but looking at the videos and pictures is driving me crazy… I’ll leave it until it’s time to put the gas pipe through the wardrobe, at which point I’ll pull everything out and lift the back box for the plug socket in a new sheet.
      And thanks about the windows/wall placement, I scratched my head for months trying to make everything fit the windows and hatches, but Yh, so far so good 👍

    Looking good 👍. I have a similar layout, I put my pressure pump, accumulator, calorifier and shower gulper under the bed along the wall. I made the bed a lift bed with gas rams to access the storage and plumbing under the bed. I also access the cassette toilet and store the spare cassette under there. Access is everything on a boat.

    Hi oli. Pleasant vlog again mate. The yard looks busy the word must have got round that james had gone. 😂😂😂

      @olivellanarrowboat4319  5 месяцев назад

      James has been gone a long time now, but it’s definitely his fault the yard is so busy now, he brought a lot attention their way, including mine 👍 and I in turn have inspired a few more to come here, it’s a good yard. They let you get on with it & the guys are great if you need a hand or some advice

    The bedroom area looks great, and your attention to detail with the spaces between the windows and walls has really paid off. I can't wait to see the other areas when they are done

      I will say now all I see is the massive gap between the windows, some art maybe, or a boxed wallpaper section, who knows lol

      Some art is a good idea. It's better to have the space and options than not 😊

    Great work on the bedroom, especially for a "lazy"weekend!
    I was thinking that forward headboard will really intrude on the companionway, causing bruising and the potential for salty language to be flung about!
    Perhaps you could think about putting your head on the opposite end (you'd be able to wake up to the view out the bow, and the aft bulkhead is a built-in headboard). When you build your bed, you could build in the adjustment to raise that end higher, but do remember the water tank will lower the bow when full, and you could use ballast to adjust her trim also - you really don't want your boat so far off trim that you could feel it in bed! (Of course that would make sweeping up easier, everything would roll aft!)
    Looking forward to your next video, you are definitely my favourite narrowboat channel, love the way you work!

      Thanks very much, that’s awesome and a little scary, I hope I can keep up or surpass the quality so far.
      Yh, you’re right about the bed, maybe when it’s in the water I’ll adjust the pitch of the bed and switch to the wall side, but until it’s waterborne I don’t know how it’ll sit. I was thinking of mounting a tv to that wall for the bed though…. Time will show 😉👍

      It’s getting more and more comfortable there, heat, light, power, just to get the water done and I can camp in it indefinitely 😉

    The bed looks great the corner cabinet would make a nice area for jackets just need to redesign

    • @olivellanarrowboat4319
      @olivellanarrowboat4319  5 месяцев назад

      Yh it’s a thought, I was thinking to keep that upper corner empty though, for the feeling of space when coming around the bed, but I shall definitely consider your idea when I get around to building that cabinet. Thanks for the suggestion, watching and commenting 👍

    Great work! I know how much cupboards feel like progress 🥳
    I'm thinking that I'll add some sound absorbing 'board' in the space my water pump occupies... If you find it's a sound box it's an idea for your 'back pocket'.

    • @olivellanarrowboat4319
      @olivellanarrowboat4319  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yep, it’s nice to have somewhere static to keep things, I’ve moved everything up and down the boat more times than I have videos 😆 good call on the soundproofing 👍

    Coming along great. The window symmetry is awesome. Maybe think about headboards at each end of the bed so you can switch sides depending on how full the water tank and diesel are. I did see a youtuber fabricate a wedge to fit under a flat collar which worked great. I think it was a boat that James built but dont quote me.

      Yh I’ve seen that done, both with hardwood and steel, but I don’t know, I’ve never welded, and even if it was well treated/protected I just wouldn’t trust the wood to not rot out or burn. I’ll figure out what I’m doing with it when I’m on that job. I’ve found it better to focus on the details of the job in front of you while being aware of what you’ve got to do later, instead of trying to figure all the small details first, you get overloaded, or at least I do. And sometimes plans have to change in the doing. But Yh, it’s coming on. My Home Screen is a pic of the empty boat as I bought it, just to remind me of how far we’ve come 👍

      @DEmma1972 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@olivellanarrowboat4319 its certainly come a long way. Although the wedge isnt something you need to think about atm, let me add that you could also make a concrete wedge in a mould (before I forget)

    Hi , just found your channel and went back to your first video, 3 years ago, which looked like it started at number 4, is this right? or were there some before? Will be subscribing and catching up.

      I didn’t know about video editing then, and the first 20 or so are a mix of shorts and side on short clips. It wasn’t really until doing the ceiling battens that I started stitching videos together. I put all the early ones in a playlist, because they’re all over the pkace

    It is progress but a shame you haven't used better cabinet construction without screws and those splits; Traditional joinery. I think the front door access steps have been overlooked and will bite.

    • @olivellanarrowboat4319
      @olivellanarrowboat4319  5 месяцев назад

      Yh you’re probably right, the screws will eventually rust out in the damp environment. I may use pegs when attaching the face boards, good call. I will say I have no carpentry experience (i grew up on 90s discovery, this old house, new Yankee workshop etc, but I’ve only ever built tree houses and such from building site scrap as a kid) and I’m learning on the go, crazy I know but it gets me off the Xbox 😉. Also I wasn’t going to mortise and tenon 38mmx19mm, especially by hand, and I probably won’t be getting a band saw or drill press. Maybe with the bigger pieces like the bed or kitchen I can explore more sophisticated woodworking techniques but for something that’s going to have all those screws and splits covered I’m not so bothered. As for the step I’m not sure what you mean by bite, you’re right again, I’d not thought of the step being in the way of the lower wardrobe door, but that’s ok, I haven’t built either yet and these considerations will go into the mix when I make them 😀 thanks for watching and commenting, and making me want to step up my game, good looking out 😉👍
