    Looking good and the steps will be fine when you’re used them , it’s just like when you started driving with the pedals you now do without thinking the same go for the steps ,👍👍👍👍👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    Some great progress being made now Oli. I like that layout of the steps.

    Looks good Oli, you could put a hinged plexiglass cover on too and that will weather protect the panels

    The steps look good, and will give you more flexibility with the space, compared to central steps. Recessing the control panels was a good idea and it looks really good 👌🏾

    Mocking up is always good. See if you can live with it. I know I will want a central stairs just because its less twisting and ducking and probably safer if carrying bags of shopping etc. Electrics wall looks pretty good also, are you painting the wood panels black to match the boards or having it as wood or another? The last boat we hired had a small shelf above the electrics which we used to put phones, keys and cups of coffee on. I will say that it was 1 of the best features of the boat and used a lot.

    Hello Oli, I think I prefer the central steps, but what do I know. Thank you for the recommendation of Lee and Ali's vlog I shall go and watch that on catch up. Not going to Crick this year, I shall be in Scotland in a motorhome. Thank you for the continued vlogs, I can imagine how much work they are. Best wishes Christine x

    Hopefully see you at Crick on the Saturday.
    I think you're right about the vertical calorifier, physics says they should work better, and everyone I spoke to says they work better in reality too... (There are 'super insulated' ones out there too if you want to keep the water hotter for longer)

    I had Barrus 45 in my previous boat, excellent engine. I have my engine panel mounted in a door, if I want to see it say on a river cruise I hook the door open so I can see it from the tiller position.

    • @olivellanarrowboat4319
      @olivellanarrowboat4319  5 месяцев назад

      Yh that’s what I’m rocking the 45, I’m told it’s a bulletproof beast… one day I’ll find out first hand. Nice idea on the control panel, how thick was the door?

    • @philelliott5327
      @philelliott5327 5 месяцев назад

      It's an oak panel cupboard door, it opens and I have the rest of the Lectric gear in that cupboard. The inverter remote switch and a couple of other bits tunnel light switch, horn ect. I then built a cover that can be removed to access the wiring on the back of the door.

    Stairs looks good maybe you could hinged the last to steps in front for more storage 😅 is the kitchen going on the opposite side of everything else? I was thinking about weight distribution, or is the ballast,Fuel-water tank even it out? For the roof use a colour that don’t need so much cleaning not to dark or to bright 😅

    As you probably know, it is hard to build something for yourself by committee.
    Use it for a little while and see if it is what You want. Enjoy your process of thinking.

      @@AstroBoater hi, thanks for the concern. Yh I’m fine, just working lots, trying to save for some big bits & charging the batteries. Not been to the boat for a month or so, probably more now, and the times I did go I wasn’t very productive so got no footage. I’m taking the time to think about what I want the bathroom like, and how I want the fireplace before cutting holes in the boat for chimneys and water. I’d done upto the bits I’d really thought through and was getting to thinner ice so you to speak, so I’m just taking my time,letting it all marinade a bit making sure I don’t run full speed into the chilly water. But also after 3 years it’s nice to take a little break, thanks for shouting out 👍

    The electric cabinet looks great but I’m not sure about the safety aspect of your steps. You could make step❤s with drawers in.

      @olivellanarrowboat4319  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yh absolutely, I’ll do that if I end up going in this direction. I love all the hidden boxes and hidey holes. I’ll definitely be using up all the space. This is just to see if I like it first

    Have you given up on the boat? I was at North Kilworth, and met that couple doing a boat blog, Black Swan, nice people. I asked about you and they said not seen you around.

      Yh I’ve been trying to save some cash for the bigger purchases ahead of me. I’ve only been going to the boat when I can get Friday off,it’s not worth the half tank of petrol to go down for one night. Just had rent in June then new pads discs and tyres in the car so that blew this months budget. I’ll go over this and a few other things that are hindering my progress in my next video, not sure when that’ll be, hopefully within the next 3 weeks or so. I hope ally and Lee were ok when you saw them. Thanks for your concern and sticking with me through the lean content times 👍
