    Thanks! It really shows how nice all the movement and details can be in such coldwater aquariums!

    I guess that answered my question as to how well corkwings live in a tank, great video

      Yeah they do look awesome but as said in my other comment they do wipe out barnacles and other small crustaceans fairly quickly, but I must say its one of the most interesting fish to watch in the tank as they are always on the move/hunt, its a dogeatdog world in the rockpools ;-) Checkout my other vids with Pollock and Gurnard. With a Rockpool aquarium you will probably find yourself exchanging animals a lot as they grow too big but thats the beauty of such a tank. Good luck with your own setup. Cheers Marius

      Thanks very much Marius, yeah I saw the Gurnard aggressive little fish but super interesting to watch them walking around.
      It's going to be a bit late on in the year for me to get fry for the tank but fingers crossed there are some nice small fish around so they get at least 12 months in a cosy indoor tank.

    Would you consider a video series showing people how to set up and maintain a rock pool tank?
    It'd be very interesting.

      Vestyxe Thanks for the interest but no, I wouldnt have the time for it. I think my blog and others (checks links on my blog) Will give more than enough info to start a project like this. Its much simpler as you might think, if you do it right. I havent changed my water since three months and all values are still perfect! Checkout the "Technical setup" and "the build" sections in my blog for some info on how I built it and what I have used. Good Luck and thanks again for your Interest. Cheers

    Have you ever considered including a Montagu's Crab? They are a tad smaller and far less violent that the Velvets.

      One found one once. rare around here I find. Thanks for the tip. I knew the velvet was going to be very aggressive but I had him in a dedicated section so it was fine for a while. Interesting to watch. Not a big fan of crabs in the AQ though as they dig and make a mess of rock structures ;-)

      Marius Schudel And how, may I ask, do you get an anemone and can you put it where you want on a rock-face?

    • @mariusaquaticus3102
      @mariusaquaticus3102  8 лет назад +1

      I gently scrape them off the rock with an old creditcard and or rubber cooking spatula. Then place them where you roughly want them but never guaranteed that they will remain there and often they get washed somewhere else in the tank if they dont "attach" themselves quickly. Sometimes they move around quite a lot.

      Marius Schudel Oh really? And are they safe to touch?

      yep, sounds easier than it is at times ;-) dhalias are very tricky. important to take your time and dont force them off as they are very delicate. Beadlets are very easy. you get a tiny sting and redness of snakelocks (not poisonous) but all the others just feel sticky, their nettle cells cant penetrate our skin.
