My neighbor had a huge tank almost like yours, however when hurricane came through it knocked out the power for two weeks. I helped him keep generators running at all times, sometimes it was scary because I would have to travel 20 miles to work everyday and he as well. Keeping the tank full was a challenge but we made it. Nice video!
Stunning, most spectacular tank I’ve ever seen. Refreshing to see large colonies of grown out corals, especially soft corals in today’s fashion of colourful ‘sticks’. Nature has done the Aquascaping and Mother Nature knows best! Gorgonia are always overlooked and seeing this masterpiece is totally inspiring!
Looks like the "approach" with this tank is: I'm too lazy to do gardening on my corals so I can't be bothered. I guess the problem is, that the tank is too large for him to easily frag them. I made the a similar mistake, until fast growing corals were suffocating rare ultra rainbow acans. It was too late when I realized that. Don't be like me or that guy. Keep your corals in check.
I was in the marine aquarium business for over 20 years. I got into the hobby when I was still in middle school (7th grade) back in the mid 1980's. I my first job when I was 14 at the local aquarium shop. I ended up owning the business by 2000 and by that time is was only doing installation and maintenance from a warehouse. No retail shop. I got out of the business in 2010 when my little side business in the LED light business took off and I no longer had time to do the aquariums. I have built a LOT of reef tanks but I have been out of the hobby and business for a decade so I know a lot has changed. The aquarium in this video is incredible. I have done a few of this caliber with regard to size and cost but it is ultimately the responsibility of the aquarium owner/hobbyist to get it to this level. There is only so much I can do by visiting the aquarium twice a month for service of the equipment. The hobbyist in this video is very dedicated. It looks amazing but like others who posted, I would not want the viewing glass covered with coral.
I love the "overgrown" glass. To me that's the way to go - as long as the the animal health/behaviour in the enclosure (not necessarily an aquarium) is not compromised by overgrowth, there can be no better. I can not begin to imagine how much know-how, sensibility and creativity was needed to make the initial setup so that it can grow this way. Respect!
Of the many reasons I love this tank, top of the list would be because it looks like a real spot in a coral reef. So many tanks look contrived, not this one. Top marks to the owner!
I think that's an incredible tank. I prefer the natural style, it achieves what I have always wanted from a reef tank - to have a little slice of a marine environment as it should be in the wild, inside your home. It also seems fairer and looks to provide a more natural habitat to all the inhabitants. I would have to keep the front glass clear if it was me though I think, partly just due to being anally retentive about keeping the viewing area clear but also - at some point youll need to step in, growth dictates that the entire front glass will be covered one day if left unchecked, so at some point action *will* be necessary regardless - I would just step in and do it sooner. I like this tank *so* much more than the carefully aqua scaped, tiered reef style tanks. The owner should be very very proud of what he's achieved there.
Absolutely stunning. More than that, it's great to see such well kept animals. I bet you'll never find a Betta in less than ten gallons in this man's house. You can tell his fish are given the royal treatment or they wouldn't display with such vibrancy!
I'm in awe. I've never even seen the oceans, let alone scuba diving in them. So coral tanks are the closest thing to it. So much life in such a small space.....amazing. I wouldn't need a TV.
I'm a big fan of letting corals grow naturally as that's the same approach I take. But I would have to clean the front glass. Love your channel you're doing a great job!
Such a gorgeous tank...as a global diver and fish keeper for 30+ years, I always want to emulate certain environments I have experienced in nature. Many people keep reef tanks but have never been diving once, let alone around this globe. There are sections of reef in the Red Sea for instance that are literally carpets, tens of meters long of xenia and leather corals as in this amazing tank. Case in point, people place acans and other corals on their substrate in their tanks that I have never seen on the substrate in nature. The beauty is, aquariums are art, art is subjective, ALL is beautiful imo.
Thank you so much for that awesome feedback! I feel that you completely understands what this video wanted to say that's beautiful! Best regards and have a great day Tobi
A very impressive reef tank. I love this approach to reefing. Some xenia growth on the front glass might also make the fish feel more at ease. Thanks for another great video.

This is my absolute dream aquarium, the more natural the better. Those were probably the happiest captive reef fish and the healthiest corals I've ever seen. 🥰🥰🥰
He's one of the few reefers who gets that the corals ARE the reason, and as few fish as possible makes the best reef. Like Amano's natural aquariums prove..you really can't have both unless you build filters the size of a room. Choose one or the other! I would only add..Best to remove the seedling Mangroves. Unless they are the size of a small tree, chances are they will decline soon and just be a drain on the system. That amount of Mangrove would only help a 20 gallon reef anyways. Beautiful aquarium. The Xenia's are my favorite soft coral..and if you can get them to pulse..thats just another world of beauty.

There are about 8 species of soft corals that have grown to make a beautiful, scape that has had very little human intervention. It is all the beauty of nature's design.
Beuatiful large tank and unique concept of letting the corals do and go where they want! Interesting how the corals outnumber the fishes. And so interesting how the sump is not located directly under the tank.

Being a diver and also in the hobby of reef tanks this is very beautiful and natural. I would love to have this setup. I really like the Xenia on the glass. Now I would keep it under control but I would let it do what he has let it do for sure.
The "clean look" has it's beauty but nature just got the best architects. I love to simply watch my aquarium grow and only take action if it got messy.
I’m in love with the idea of letting it grow as it pleases. Once the inhabitant and tank overall are happy I’ll be fine. Natural is the most beautiful thing possible. Step in only if it wants to break the tank!
Just gonna put it out there, coral is an animal not a plant, you shouldn’t be stepping in and ‘trimming’ it, you wouldnt you like someone trimming your arm because it blocks their view
Using that same logic we shouldn’t trim plants. Sometimes it’s necessary to trim corals or other things in a reef system... I don’t get your logic here
fragging corals does not hurt them as they are made up of hundreds of smaller organisms with a hard shell (for hard corals). and anemones grow and split on their own. they attach to surfaces using a suction cup like foot, meaning they can be moved without harm as they naturally can relocate on their own. and most soft corals can be split doing one or the other.
My neighbor had a huge tank almost like yours, however when hurricane came through it knocked out the power for two weeks. I guess a few people want to know when he starts fragging ;-)
Hahaha you are right Andreas, harf Germany would have some corals after that

Absolutely thank you so much for that feedback! :D
Well I for one love this fish tank and looks a supernatural from the environment of the ocean I wish Sunday in my saltwater tank or look like that but I have a 20 gallon saltwater beginners tank alright peace out
Thank you for that awesome feedback :) But a 20 gallon tank will overgrown easier than a 790 :D
best regards
Tobi
One of the best I’ve ever seen! Well done Stefan!
Imagine cleaning that lol
Being a diver and also in the hobby of reef tanks this is very beautiful and natural. I would love to have this setup. I really like the Xenia on the glass. Now I would keep it under control but I would let it do what he has let it do for sure.
Absolutely, thank you for your feedback :D
can you tell the dimensions of your new tank please toby.big request from you
i mean the new project of your's
Hi haha okay it will be a 120x69x40 Frag tank but pssst ;)
@@seafriendlyreef oh my god it's huge i think it will be a 400 litres tank.
@@akshayvetrivelkumar6088 nearly haha about 300 liter ;) hope you will like it
And what light are you planning for the frag tank
Wow such a beautiful tank, an eye opener
Quietly twenty-five thousand euros!
The "clean look" has it's beauty but nature just got the best architects. I love to simply watch my aquarium grow and only take action if it got messy.
Nice! Thank you for your feedback :)
Doesn’t seem to be a lot of flow. Looks amazing nonetheless.
yes that's right! The flow pumps are on in the video so there is not much flow inside
I’m in love with the idea of letting it grow as it pleases. Once the inhabitant and tank overall are happy I’ll be fine. Natural is the most beautiful thing possible. Step in only if it wants to break the tank!
why nowadays no background of your georgeos cube tank .
That freshwater planted is very nice too! We have an expert aquarist here.
You are right my friend! Stefan knows what he do haha
thank you for your feedback
Love this tank so much! Soft corals amaze me, and will always be my favorite. Sorry stick heads!! Nicely done. Great video.
Thank you so much my friend! Thats so awesome to hear
Spectacular reef. Wonderful filming and video editing, the angles were wonderful. Thank you
Wonderful tank. One of the nicest I have ever seen.
Absolutely, thank you for your feedback :D
