The Year 2022 nearly comes to an end, this is our first video with our planespotting highlights. Again we want to say thank you so much for your support, really really appreciate it! Huge thanks to all of you for making this possible, the support, the feedback, the trips, and the information! Thank you so much!
With this video, we want to rewind our planespotting highlights of the year 2022.
Flying with Aviation PhotoCrew:
One of our favorites this year was the AIRPOWER 2022 meet-up with the Aviationphotocrew.
The Aviationphotocrew offers a lot of projects around Europe for special Air to Air photo- and videoflights in many different projects. Operating the Skyvan, it is possible to have a view of many different angles and possibilities for Air to Air spotting.

MD-87 Chad Government:
The Chad Government MD-87 was one of our rarest Highlights this year. The airframe with Line Number 1692, left the facility of McDonnell Douglas 32 years ago as OE-LMO, an Austrian Airlines MD-87. After 15 years of service, Austrian Airlines began their retirement of the MD-87 fleet and OE-LMO was handed over to an Aircraft Holding Company in the USA. OE-LMO became N187AS and later on, under another Aircraft Holding Company, she became N980GC. In 2008 the aircraft was converted into a VIP MD-87 version and was handed over and the Government of Chad. Since 2008 the aircraft is flying for the Chad Government and visits Basel for Maintenance work.
Royal Flight of Oman 747:
The Royal Flight of Oman 747-8 is one of the largest Business Jets in the World. The Royal Flight of Oman is the VIP Air Transport aircraft fleet for the Sultan of Oman's household. The aircraft is named نزوى, a city in Oman called Nizwa. The color scheme of the aircraft represents the flag of Oman, just as the flag on the tail of the 747. The symbol of two crossed sabers and the crown represents the Royal Family of Oman. The 747-8 visits Munich for regular Maintenance at Lufthansa Technik.

I know nothing of photography. The way you are able to zoom in so tightly and track the aircraft so precisely in the center of the frame seems like some sort of magic though.

The air to air shots of the 262 are awesome, my friend Steve Snyder started that project in New Jersey, unfortunately he didn't get to fly his dream....he died flying his F86 Saber. RIP

Why does Japan’s military have a 777? Neve heard of a 777 being used reconnaissance, electronic warfare, etc. Oman royals sure wasting a lot of $. IMO, Kalitta Air found a way to make the Queen of the Sky look ugly.
Why didn't they just do like the Russians did and put a humpback gas tank for extra fuel on the f-16s it would be a lot better on aerodynamics and aerobatics I'm sure, a little less distance and loiter time but at least it'd be a better fit I'm sure.

Nowadays, almost all air-combat occurs with the use of guided missiles. No fighter plane can escape an improved sidewinder.
The “fighter plane” mythology that you see in “Top Gun” and this video is just a fairy tale. It has no basis in reality.
Yes, fighter planes are still needed, but not for dogfights. A fighter plane is very good at delivering highly-targeted munitions. That’s not a job which requires extreme maneuvers. But it does require a good pilot.
People have to get away from the idea that the A-10 or the F-35 have a role to play in ground combat. The next war will involve billions of people. That kind of war isn’t fought with fighter planes. What we really need are five hundred rebuilt F-4 Phantoms which can carry heavy payloads. Not the stupid money-wasting toys you see in this video.
In a way, the Pentagon with its bribe- taking staff has turned into our worst enemy. Cash before dishonor. That’s our new creed.
