Fully stock except differential maybe..I think the factory 2.93 differential is more apropriate to the 530i. This is way too short for highway speeds if you don 't have 6 speed gearbox.
@@BOLA333 I own a 330 ci 5 speed manual absolutly stock. At the highway I feel that the engine works with no load in 5th gear. The car should have 6 speed only from the beginning, not only after 2003. By the way, i find these cars (e46 and e39) brilliant. I can' t find a reason to change it and buy an e90 or even a f30 3 series. And my car is very reliable, only routine maintenance, no major repair. 280.000 km and drives like when I bought it with 80.000 km.
yeah i feel you, i have the 2.93 too but unfortunatly i'm turbo so it just accelerates so damn fast to 230 cuz my redline is at 7000 and then i cant go faster, i need the longer ratio diff!
I agree, don't buy BMW V8. Generally, the 525i is recommended for reliability (although a little underpowered for my taste) ruclips.net/video/sP7OuFYJLTE/видео.html&ab_channel=HooviesGarage ruclips.net/video/wAURkREFhbk/видео.html&ab_channel=HooviesGarage
i think that dif is too short. you already have to go to 4th gear at under 130km/h. I think with stock dif you can shift at 150km/h. I wouldn't change diff if you havn't raised rev limiter.
@@aczech12 Obviously torque multiplication is good for specific gear acceleration but with given gearbox ratios and engine torque curve for overall performance its not, lets say, optimal. For stock or almost stock engine engineers knew what they were doing trust me. Comes from guy with also shorter diff, not so drastic (3.15) but still.

3.45 ratio little short
Pretty nice fast car 👌
if the car is stock. how does your 2nd gear run out at 80kph. stock it is good up to almost 100kph. you have 3,46 diff?
Yes diff is changed 3.46

Yes thats right. But for acceleration it is better. I changed to 2.93.

Good . I would like to ask you i want to buy BMW E39 but i don't know which is most reliable 530i or 535i ?
Never buy 535 that is worst engine I prefer 530 m54b30

I doubt this is the normal diff that comes with the b30 , its probably the 520i one
It is from 525

It depend how you use your car, if you race short diff accelerates quicker.

Is it a 6 speed?
Blackhawker91 No its 5 speed
ok my 530i is on the second gear at 100
Blackhawker91 You have stock 530 diff thats why your diffs ratio is 2.93 and mine is 3.46
what's the real (GPS) Top speed? Does it touch the REV limiter?
Blackhawker91 In this video it didnot touched the limiter but it goes 225-28
Your 530i is Slower than mine. With 5 Liters gasoline in my Car I need 6.3 seconds from 0-100 its a manual.
lets race
