  • As an addition to the "golf clubs explained" series we have moved to the Golf Shafts. Shaft are the transmission not the engine and we talk to how a golf shaft is described and where fitters get info to help you lower scores and enjoy golf more

    I find your videos to be very informative and decided to subscribe to your channel. I was wondering if you could could do a 2 part video for the purposes of comparing 2 seperate brands of steel shafts. Part One compare the N S Pro Modus3 shafts in the 105, 115, 120. in the same golf head(hopefully a Mizuno). Then compare the findings to the Project X LZ shafts in 5.0 5.5 and 6.0 It would be intersting to see how these shafts from two seperate can be compared to each other for club fitting. I'm really interested in knowing more about both of these shafts and who they will ideally fit.

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  Год назад +2

      Actually its the size of a club head that came off a broken shaft on the other side of the door in the fitting room. I know this because it was mind😢

    Connecting the dots … you do a good job at that
    I’ve found that the kind of grip with the hands can help or hurt getting the club face square back
    Your thoughts on that? 🤔
    Good video 👍

    Is kick point and torque still a thing? Also, where is the best place to put the shaft spline on an adjustable driver shaft adapter? I’m thankful that you share your love and knowledge of the great game of golf. Thanks.

      kick point and torque are still measured specification however each manufacture will delineate them differently. I put the spine at 12 oclock

    When your going thru a swing change or speed training, when is it a good time to plan a fitting!?

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  11 месяцев назад

      I would consider the swing change more important than the speed and when you feel the change you have incorperated has at least feels like it has taken root into your routine.

    I took my Callaway Apex DCB iron with Nippon Pro 950 pro regular flex shafts and found high isolation with my laser beam and extreme short distance with half the irons. My Jaws Approach wedge was going ten meters past my 9 iron. I borrowed and later bought another used set of Apex DCB Evaluate shaft with stiff flex and they out distance the Nippon by a large margin. Is it possible rebuilt the regular flex wrong or swing the regulars at a faster speed than they can handle?

    Sir. I am just getting back in golf after a long layoff due to a bad hip, and bad knees. I had a hip replacement and have had work done on my knees. I am about to turn 60. I have a very good set of Callaway X-22 irons and 3 Cleveland wedges. Can those be reshafted with Senior shafts? How cost effective would that be? Or would it be easier to buy a a set of the super game improvement irons with Senior shafts?

    I was wondering if you could give any guidance on reshafting a ping g5 driver. My local pro shop here in Canada wants no part of .350 and keep trying to upsell me when I don't need the upgrade. Any guidance would be much appreciated! Big fan of your channel and thank you in advance!

      The re are few if no 350 tip shafts around any longer. BUT there are adapters that can help do the job. golfworks sells a bushing sleeve that will go from a 335 to a 350. Bushing Sleeve with Ferrule-LE9002

    Hey Jim, I currently game p790s with GD s300 105 stiff shafts. I just got fit into Nippon modus 3 tour 125 shafts with t150 head. I have to wait about a month before I game those. Is there any way I can add lead team or weight somehow to get somewhere close to where I was fit into in the meantime? It's a struggle to swing my current setup, way to light

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  11 месяцев назад

      The fastest and most ugly way is to add some lead tape to the shaft near the head. A strip around the shaft will do. It is ugly but will do the job.

    Have question about the ventus velecore shaft I think I was taken for a ride, is their a insert in the but end. If their is what's the reasoning? I bought the blue from a club fitter in my area who always brags about scamming people with after market look alikes. If you could tell me anything you can about this shaft authenticate it I would appreciate it.

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  Год назад

      As I understand the velocore it is the technology is in the lower section of the shaft and it is more of a manufacture process than an added item. There are two types of ventus one with Velocore and the other without. the one without will NOT have the velocore wording.
