Thank you for doing this! I love Harlan! My Grandma’s Family dates back many many generations there! My dad grew up there! They moved to Central Florida in the 50s and I’ve visited relatives and friends all my life there! It’s a special place I’ll always love! Last visit was in 2018 and I’m so thrilled to see it coming back to life!
Beautiful evening in Harlan Coyote's! Lots of really neat things there! My uncle had a pet Opossum when I was a boy, he named it Henry but changed it's name to Henrietta after we discovered it was a female!😂 he had it for several years! I remember letting it hang from my finger with its tail before it got big. Great memories brought back this evening! Great evening tour of Harlan, thanks for sharing!
You guys are so lucky to have someone that has some imaginatio for your downtown area, so many of our small town so many of our small town treasures are just dying by the roadside because people do not have any imagination, I am one of those type people it amazes me how people take a chance and make it work
Your videos of Harlan bring back many memories of my younger days . The Turner building that burnt was once the Highland Apartment Building . The steak house on the corner was Bissell Office Supplies , and in later years was the home of Modern Electric And Furniture Co . I can remember the slogin , "Whistle For Bissell". The building across the street from the steakhouse with the green awning was once Green Mill Pharmacy with a sign shaped like an old mill . The building where Abraham's Music is located was once Cumberland Valley Music And Appliances . I can even remember when the streets in Harlan were two way , and I can remember when they were changed to one way . Now that's kinda old , right ? LOL 😂 Great video , thanks for posting .
Love those umbrella lights!Love to come back and see how it looks! You guys are the closest I may ever get. Just takes me back in time. So glad I got to be born there!Good memories of those years so long ago❤❤❤ Thank you both for sharing!Love it❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love those umbrella lights! Love ALL the lights in Harlan. I’ve never been but have it on my list to visit when I retire next month. It’s those little touches like lights that show how the folks love their town and want to dress it up. Which in turn makes people like me come for a visit. Love watching the videos y’all do. ❤ maybe we’ll see y’all on our visit soon. Great video “almost live” ❤
We stayed in harlan for a week last year. We fell in love with harlan and everything about it. Any help any of you could offer and finding a decent to good home for rent three bedroom preferably. For two adults and two autistic children. Also want to say that we love watching a knighted coyote videos and want to say thank you for sharing them with us.
My grandmother on my daddy’s side was the florist for Harlan her name was DOROTHY HELEN JONES THOMPSON died in 8-9-1969 in SHELBYVILLE/LONDON INDIANA in the plane crash
I also remember Burns Grocery, Quality Shop, Powers & Horton, Howard Drug, A&P, Dollar General, Creech Drug, Green Mill, Ackley Cafe, Ackley Hotel, and others downtown.
Hey Mr and Mrs coyote if you get the opportunity to go to Laurel lake Baptist camp be sure and climb the tower on the campus! I helped install lights on the inside on a mission trip there is a story about the tower gospel music was played from it many years ago!
I also remember Margie Grand Movie Theater and another theater, Newberrys 5 &10, Western Auto, and Baxter had Coca Cola bottling plant, Bunny Bread plant, and Chappells Dairy, and Loyal had RC bottling plant
Great video guys, I share your opinion on today's movies, they're terrible! Harlan is on my wife and I's bucket list to see. JT & Jo-Ann ( Glasgow, KY )
Warning!!!!sassing the wife could lead to repucussions. Possum eating possum grapes, wild grapes so sour your mouth perks up like grinning like a possum. Great to see they don't roll up the sidewalks at 5 oclock. Good to see nite life in Harlan
They don't start rolling up the sidewalks till 10 or 11 LOL! And you're right about getting the wife mad but I've learned after all this time about how far I can go before I have to sleep on the couch 😆

Dollywood has umbrella like that we love it, very good your business owners are investing in the town to help draw tourists, I love opossums too
It's kind of sad that the city government isn't giving them any support though
@@IgnitedCoyote I agree with you that is sad, maybe if the businesses help draw tourism, the city will notice and participate

Beautiful, but hot & humid. We prefer to go sightseeing from late fall, to early spring.
