Beau of the 5th Column on RUclips does a little piece in his roads channel that includes advice on what words to search with, depending on what you want to check on. It seems it’s easier to find things in it if you use their culture wars terms.
Ask people to read too much and they might not read anything. This way, they can look up what subjects they care about and see what the plans are for them.

Discussions like this should be given to all our representatives in government. When I was working and we had an accident, the company would hire people to come in and talk to all of us. The people that came in had real life experiences and were educated to discuss why accidents would happen and the goal was to make us relate and think about our actions so that hopefully we are engaged and think more about safety. I believe that this was helpful. But it would have been more helpful to have had this type of education through out life instead of getting it as a result of a crisis.
So that being said, this discussion that you Ruth and the others that also had much to say which would educate us on this crisis of Trump and the GOP willingness to let our Democracy flip into Fascism or Athoritarianism. Children are "right at this moment" being exposed to Fascism by camps that represent themselves as family (like boy scout) camps. I actually checked out one of these places because at first glance seemed harmless. But when I saw a copy of a letter signed by Adolf Hitler hung on the door to the main entrance, it sent chills through my body.
So at that moment, I realized that right wing thinking parents are exposing there children to fascism in this way. Much the same way that it was done in Germany before WWII.
Our educational system has failed us. This failure also took time starting after WWII. The steps were slowly taken over time and pow now we are here. The crisis is slapping us in the face right now.
But I am thankful to you Ruth and others with similar backgrounds to yours and lawyers and judges that recognize what is happening juat as you do and they are joining the fight to educate all of us on this crisis. Thank you.
But if we get through this you and the others need to get together to overhaul our educational system.
We need the public school system.
We need it to be fully funded.
We need teachers like you to teach truth about all history. To teach philosophy and how to develope Critical thinking abilities based on truth. A person told lies as truth can not be a critical thinker. They can not make good decisions and our public school system has been defunded and good teachers are not hired and the push to private schools coupled these actions has set the stage for what is now happening. First we have to get through this crisis. Then we have much work ahead of us to develope guards against this crisis from happening again. I too believe in our people, the ones like you that see this dire threat are greater than the right thinking group. We have to protect their right to vote and other important freedoms. This movement is alive and well here in Canada. Our newly elected Conservative MP recently sent out a pamphlet requesting support for “parental rights”. I was shocked and very angry. “Parental Rights” is a smoke screen for far right Christian Conservatives who promote very un-Christian attitudes and behaviours. I have a step-sister who has heavily bought into the so called “Freedom Fighter” movement and sent her kids to a Christian school. This all hits home for me and it’s very alarming.
They have web that spreads very wide, here in Australia some multi-millionaires are trying to import these ideas too, we have Tucker Carlson here at the moment to tell us why we need a far right theocratic dictatorship here being promoted by mainstream media in prime time .

This is an immensely important topic. It's virtually impossible to overstate, American democracy is in tremendous peril. I first heard of Ruth in an NPR interview about 6wks after Trump's Inauguration. I was shocked at how his term unrolled virtually just as she expected.

I cannot just vote in this election. I have time and the means that I can help. I just have no idea where to begin. I’m from Ohio and do not like the direction my state is going and scared to death of Trump being reelected. I have this idea, I don’t know if it’s silly or it will even matter. Project 2025 reads to me like a dystopian nightmare. I read recently that 75% of American voters haven’t even heard of it. Obviously I can’t print the entire thing, but I had chat gpt4 give me a summery of it. It actually did a nice job. It was not biased about it, it just summarized it. To me, the summary was scary enough. My thought is that I could print the summary, provide a link and also include the questionnaire you have to answer before you can enter your resume. If you’ve read the questionnaire you’ll understand why I think it important to add it. Anyway, so I was thinking about printing a crazy amount of the summaries and walking my town putting them on people’s doorknobs or porch. I wouldn’t push anything to one side or the other, I’m not about to get into arguments with right wingers. I would be just giving them information I think everyone who plans on voting should know. So they either read it and they think it sounds wonderful or read it as a George Orwell novel as I did. It would be two pages max a very simple easy read and simple for people to understand. I just don’t know if this is a stupid idea, would it move anyone’s needle? I checked with the city to see if it was legal for me to do this or if I need a license. It is legal and I don’t need a license. All I need to do is let the city police know when I’ll be out just in case anyone calls the police, they’ll know why I’m there. Any thoughts on this or any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

When my dental hygienist argued for parent rights in schools against the homosexual agenda, I asked her what she thought we teachers were doing in schools, why she thought we were trying to turn children gay. We're teaching anti-bullying, not try-out-homosexuality. We're teaching that it's bad to throw someone down the stairs or into oncoming traffic for being gay. We're not sexualizing students. If there were even a whiff of that coming from a concerned student, the admins could pull the levers to get rid of that teacher--not easily, but with enough lying they can do it.

It's important to show conservatives how this will *directly* negatively affect their daily lives, it's the only thing that ever makes them change their minds! They're mostly very simple thinkers and lack a real sense of morality, so the messages have to be very blunt and scary. If anyone has the stomach for it, the messages can be straight up dishonest scare tactics (like a graphic meme). They definitely respond to those!
I was born in Germany in 1942. I am so blessed to have become an Australian in my early teens. Here we have compulsory elections and even in the remotest communities we can vote at the nearest local schools. As in your country, many Australians are ill informed through lack of interest or a sense of complacency. I never spoke with my children about politics and I don’t know how my husband voted, though we divorced because we discovered we had very different leanings in most areas. He was a very good human, believing in the rightness of his perspective. I am feeling with you and my heart is just going out to you and your rather awesome challenges. My love flows to you and my prayers are with you all, the ‘good’ the ‘bad’ and the ‘ugly’. We’ve all been both. I know that I have. 🤗🙏🏼🌈
It is wonderful to hear such a calm person as Ruth Ben-Ghiat speak about a horrifying future in which fewer and fewer people in America will hold the reins of power. Panicking here is not recommended, in my opinion, and I believe that Prof. Ben Ghiat feels the same way. That said, complacency is the least productive option, and thus voters' participation, after hearing dire warnings, is as Ruth Ben Ghiat had said, our best hope. My optimism leads me to believe that, in politics as in life, "one can lead a horse to a fountain of water, but one a cannot make the horse drink." In other words, authoritarian regimes need the means to enforce their orders, and that is a near-impossible task. Civil disobedience is a marvelous tool available to all of us. In Italy, many years ago (and quite possibly, today as well) postal workers did not go on strike, when they wanted pay raises. They simply sorted snail-mail at a snail's pace. It worked. BTW, tens of millions of pieces of mail found their way to the ash can too. I think that it's a universal truth that one cannot have a country of any size where 50% of the population watch the remainder 50% by means of coercion, punishment, jailing, and intimidation. If you will, this is a classic case of 'Who's watching the watchers?' Thanks for a great interview.

I read the Dept of Treasury chapter of P25. One of the features of P25 is to remake health insurance. Of course the ACA will be repealed. But there won’t be allowed a deduction to your paycheck for health insurance. Also the business won’t be allowed to deduct health insurance. Surely if it’s not a business deduction a large swath of businesses won’t offer health insurance. With the ACA gone so will protections for pre existing conditions. Just like car insurance factors in risk, so will health insurance companies. Good luck if you have pre existing conditions. Good luck if you are older. Good luck if you are a woman. Whatever savings you have on taxes from lower tax rates will pale in comparison to the cost of health insurance.
Conservatives have always been fascinated by thinking that health care should cost the same as a mechanic fixing your car!! They think the market would reduce the cost of health care! Like a surgeon would take your appendix out for 25/hr!!

Ruth Ben-Ghiat, I have been following Trump since he came down that escalator years ago. I could see the danger in him from the very beginning. But I have never heard of you. Writing may be your profession, but nobody reads articles any more. Especially the younger people. I don't mean teenagers I mean people in their 30's and 40's. I am in my 60's and I do not read articles. If you want to get your message out you need a U-tube channel or get on talk shows that are popular with the public. That's the truth Ruth. Times change.

Decriminalizing domestic violence means men will resort to stalking and gang (organized/anonymous) stalking with impunity. Stalking can easily result in physical harm and just as importantly it can easily result in psychiatric holds because the women report being fallowed and harassed by strangers. This is very useful in custody battles. He movie Changling shows how psychiatry was weaponized in California in the 1940s.
I keep sharing about this on Facebook but it's not getting any traction with my 'friends.' I'll keep pushing though.
