It's really not, if you pay attention. He has ample reason to believe that he stands a better chance than anyone else at beating Trump (who incidentally has promised to be a dictator on day 1, end birthright citizenship, and tried to do a coup when he lost the election). The irony of the “Trump is a liar” whataboutism spin is that Biden has been lying for about half a century. Recall that Biden first ran for president in 1987 and literally withdrew from the race after he was caught lying repeatedly. After that disastrous debate recently, CNN’s “fact checkers” went on for something like 3 straight minutes pointing out Biden’s “falsehoods,” so it’s pretty incredible that this is the route they’re taking. When you’re accusing your opponent of being a liar, it might be a good idea to not be one yourself.
