    I’m with you 100% on this one! Again I look at the Laws of Diminishing Returns and my Beliefs!🤣 The 90 is roughly twice the Price of the 70. I simply don’t believe the Sound Quality will double in Improvement. Does it Sound better? It’s truly Subjective! What I hear you may totally not agree! I remember going to a High End Stereo Store in the early 90s. One of the Salesman wanted me to listen to one of their $25,000 speakers. After I listened to them he beamingly look at me and asked,”How do they sound”? I replied,”They were Ok. I wasn’t too Thrilled”! He immediately turned off the equipment and left the Demo room and didn’t Utter a word! Clearly he heard a higher quality speaker than I! To me if I didn’t know the actual price I would have thought they cost $1200/$1500. Sorry about my long Thesis but hopefully you get my point! Quality of Sound is truly Subjective no matter how much it Cost!🤣👴🏽

      Thank you for bringing sanity to my world!🤣 Just when I thought I was the odd one out. I recently went for a listen at my local dealership, and they played me the Klipsch 8000 F, hooked to Anthem MRX1140… and I own a pair of Polk Audio S55’s🤓. They cranked the volume up to something like -12db, and it was loud yeah, but it was uhm… ok.🤷🏻‍♂️🤓 I guess what I’m trying to say is, why spend all that money if I’m not gonna notice the difference anyway, it’s a returnless investment.. if that’s the word.

    I currently own an avm 70 also and have been thinking of upgrading to the 90, but only because music is a big part of what I listen to. I’m with you, after waiting 6 months to get the 70 and now owning it for a while it’s hard to justify upgrading already… hard decision.

    Its a tough choice.. i went with the 90 but struggled with the price. The fact it is hdmi 2.1 ready and 4 subs did it for me. I think the pricegap will close a bit when they start selling the 70 with hdmi 2.1. All you youtubers convinced me to go for anthem😁

    • @Techthusiasm

      Love Anthem. Either model is an amazing call. If you have more subs and the cash, why not go 90!

  • @eliashabash7591
    @eliashabash7591 2 года назад +2

    The avm70 is coming out with the hdmi 2.1 board
    It will be $4k
    Feature wise the only difference between the two will be 2 individually managed subs vs 4
    But the main selling point isnt features
    If your looking for features and only features with 2 subs, get the 70
    But the 90 provides a huge bump in sound quality. It goes head to toe in this department with storm and trinnov and in some areas its even better.
    It’s not just different dacs, its how they are implemented in the avm90 with the output stages, shorter signal path, psu management, ext.
    The avm90 is so good its like using an external multithousand dollar Dac powering all your channels
    THATS the difference and thats why u buy the 90

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  2 года назад +3

      Yep, I expect to have an AVM90 in my future someday. :) In meantime, as soon as I can upgrade my 70 to the new board, I will and cover it on the channel with videos.

    Sure it is nice to be able calibrate 4 subs with ARC with the AVM90, but you can do it just as well (or better?) with a miniDSP together with an AVM70. I have had a lot of bugs and problems with my AVM70 and glad I didnt pay for the AVM90. As you say the AVM70 sounds amazing!

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  2 года назад +2

      A lot of people like them, for good reasons, but my goal is to keep a miniDSP out of my setup. I don’t need the added complexity, for me. ARC does it all for my system.

    • @HomeCinemaJunkie
      @HomeCinemaJunkie 2 года назад

      @@Techthusiasm Yes, if you only have two subs then ARC is enough on the AVM70. What I was saying was that you either need an AVM90 or a miniDSP if you are accuratly going to calibrate more than two subs.

    I thought similarly that the cinema would be a great solution for theater and music, but the only “music” I listen to in there is concert videos. The ‘2-channel’ listening is done in my office now. It’s just not quiet/calm enough in my house to do critical listening.

  • @noemontalvo2305

    I just view your video about the AVM 90. It seems that most people agree with you for double the price it's not all that, unless U got the room to add 4 subs and most people don't. I got the AVM 70 at a great price. It was very hard to decide which processor to buy. It needed to be upgradeable first of all things. My 2 choices was emotiva or anthem. I'm going to need to go back to your video on setting up the bass. It's not turning on my bass.

      The 60 was really nice, for sure. The 70 and 90 pack a lot more into them now though and will continue to be updated with fixes and features for a while to come. I'd strongly recommend trying to get into a 70/90 vs. a 60 if one was considering Anthem.

Can’t imagine the sonic improvement is worth the trade on the reliability and software bugs I’ve read about. With Audyssey MultEQ X, doubt there’s any sonic difference that can’t be tuned into or out of the system. Stick with your 8805…

    I’ll tell you flat out, don’t upgrade. I bought an AVM90 and ended up returning it because the auto update feature wiped the profile, rendering my entire system unusable because I didn’t know how to set it up from scratch. Also, Anthem’s software process seems not to have good quality control, as just this last Friday they tried to rollback update 73, which had issues, to update 68, and that rollback itself had issues. Seriously disappointed with Anthem.
