An unimaginable loss. Farewell my amazing friend.
This video started my exploration of trad music. So inspiring.
There are people who play guitar and those that play real music - Steve is one of the rare ones who do both sublimely. Onya Steve!
Cooney plays and looks like a wizard casting spells left and right.
I love his playing. As original as any guitarist you’ll hear, and on a Strat!
Steve gave me a lift from Kilcar to Killybegs one time. Great man with great stories.
What a 🌟. Music oozes from every pore in his body and he becomes one with the instrument. Has only six strings but it sounds like a harp. As Dolly said "Wow ! That man sure can play."
Fingerpicking, lifted up to the heights of Trad. Impossible but real.
Greatly appreciate Steve playing an electric
Totally brilliant in every musical way. And not for the first time 😂 Thanks Steve.
I have always loved to watch an Irish dancer do a slip jig.Its a step that not many can do well.It takes agility and poise.Beautiful dance.
Liam O'Flynn's rendition brought me to tears when I first heard him play it....Happy New Year from Austin !!
Astounding playing. He makes it sound like an acoustic guitar!
Nice use of a Stratocaster ... I love it !
Stunning how this lovely man has adapted to understand our music .
Absolutely brilliant. A clean sound of a strat for Gaelic music! Just gorgeous.
Farhad T Yes, very cool and smooth.

#OdedFriedGaon #OdedMusic #Audioded
Reminds me of Malian trad as they alot use electric guitars now shows where music came from
Very nice indeed, I love a good slip jig but I do wish those pesky Irish would not confuse people like me by having multiple names for the same tune...I have always know this as An Phis Fliuch or O'Farrells Return to Limerick. But I guess that's the beauty of Irish music... and the Irish. Well done you!
Gorgeous
Outstanding!!! Full of heart and soul!!! Irish music with a beautiful difference! Thank you, Steve!
Presente da música irlandesa.
Teelin Ábú!........... ha!
Never heard Steve on electric before, subtle. What is another name for this slip jig?
It's also known by the name An Phis Fhluich, as well as a number of euphemistic translations... beware, translation is NSFW
Thx. Just read the translation. ;) I know I had played the tune myself years ago.
The choice wife.
Does anyone know what guitar tuning is used ? DADGAD? Thanks
definitely dropped D, regular pitch, capo 3
@@SuperMaskedcucumber do u mean drop D on top and bottom string with the rest standard? Thanks a mill
@@xntricity6446 not double dropped D, just the 6th string down to D
@@SuperMaskedcucumber interesting, thanks for the info👍
Playing in DADGAD?
Don't think so. 6th string is in D but I can't work out the other strings...
It works fine in DADGAD on my Lakewood acoustic. I can play it, only just... but there's a lot of practicing to do!
go raibh maith agat
Every . Stopped others form makings there way. No
No again
nice playing but weird key
