So this one has a story for you viewers. I was aware about a fair majority of the changes as far back as early 2022 from Guard Crush Games' discord page. They were posting a teaser list on all the characters that had tweaks, I did some recordings of the July version to get a head start. The patch took a while to get an actual release and I think that was because of the console port teams trying to implement the newest update.
This big balance update finally arrived on March 10th 2023 and it took me over 40 days to produce this video simply because there were a lot more adjustments for each character to showcase. Not every hitbox change has been recorded usually because I couldn't notice the difference myself in a showcase point of view.
Even if you've seen the patch notes text from various websites, this video does show a fair amount of changes that were NOT mentioned from the PR documents.
This video is way, way ,way longer than the previous comparisons clocking in at over 2 hours and 40 minutes long. Please take at least a few breaks whilst watching this video.

Just wanted to add there are a few more changes to Blaze4's vanilla moves that weren't covered (understandably, as there was already a lot to cover - and it's not mentioned in the notes). No intention to discredit Greenalink, and his work here is amazing.
1) Tobi Kyaku's first hit doesn't launch as high as it used to. This impacts follow ups after air special 🔽
2) Kikosho has reduced hitstop (about 4 frames). This actually impacts wall combo stability 🔽
3) Original defensive has some unknown changes that cause it to behave a bit strangely. Enemies jumping at you now get flicked behind - this was a fix to some other odd behaviors during the beta (according to one of the testers). It could be argued this makes the move more dangerous to use. The move also seems to have a new recovery animation added to it, which is suspected to be intended to fix a problem where she could get anti-aired by Kevin. This also impacts combo follow ups 🔽
4) Third hit of the auto-combo now has a bit more hitstun, which makes it harder to jablock certain enemies (but is still possible) ⚖
5) There are a few other minute details which are less impactful (I can't remember off the top of my head)
Overall, the patch is great if you love alt moves, because they got buffed like crazy. Unfortunately the same can't be said if you enjoy vanilla styling. Anyway, hope you all enjoy the video!

I want to add to this video that in survival mode there are some changes: When you have a perk that needs full health or 50% or less, now your health bar will blink indicating that the buff is active. "Glass Cannon" now gives you 100% more damage and you recieve 60% more damage instead of July's update 100% and 100%. If I missed something or I have something wrong please let me know 😁

How were you able to enable/disable the percussion so freely? Interesting touch on the video that gave audio clues between patch footage, but I'm curious how you were able to do it!
So for the SoR4 tracks, there are loads of bgm music files, the main ones that were composed by Olivier Deriviere have 2 tracks each, the melody and the percussion. When video editing, I had to find a start & end loop to extend the track for a long time.
For the retro tracks, I had to:
1) Download vgz files from project2612
2) Convert vgz files into 11 individual instrument tracks by using MultidumperGUI
3) Put all 11 on Dark Audacity and mute some of the tracks to get an alternative version (used as BGM for old V7 footage).
Great excuse to play this amazing game again.
Not sure if it was the patch or if I got better, but I can finally enjoy playing SOR4 Max.
Still, it would be nice if all characters could run or dash (perhaps depending on character?). My biggest issue with Max and Axel is how slow they are, and it's not countered by larger reach, unlike Floyd for instance
at least max can use the slide to gap close
@@dorik0 true, although I tend to rely on air special for getting somewhere quickly on slow characters - it costs hp though. Slide doesn't really cut it for me, besides I'm using Blitz #2 :D
Axel seems really strong now with all these buffs. I wonder where he’s placed in the tier list now.

The retro characters (SoR1, SoR2 and SoR3) were given new colour palettes in the March 2023 update.

He still has rolling grab to atomic drop loops... with less i frames on his roll. Spinning knuckle bomb is the way to go.
