It's pretty obvious why, if you were a young Christian and a metalhead in the early 90s, Tourniquet was the most exciting thing around.

After a quick google search as to what "psychosurgery" was, the lyrics have become far more clear to me, which makes me appreciate this song even more. I'll definitely have to check out this album. Thanks for sharing! 😄

Lol I honestly wasn't completely sure what psychosurgery meant either, but now it does make a lot more sense in the song. Glad you enjoyed the song!

It's great seeing a new generation discover the classics. I was 20 when this came out & played this album & the previous cd constantly for months. As good as any secular thrash.

One of the best pinochle christian metal bands from the early 90's. You all know the drummer Ted Kirkpatrick passed away a few months ago he is now in heaven with JESUS.
He was the best christian drummer that ever lived. Can't wait to see Ted Kirkpatrick in heaven.
Blessings family of GOD I love you all in JESUS name.
Keep 🎸🥁🎤🎼🎵🎶🤘🙏☝️👑 Maranatha come quickly LORD JESUS.

They put on a crazy show. Perfect sound and excellent tight drums guitar and vocals live. Sounded like the albums. Seen them once with about 100 other bands in the California Mountains back in the day. Too bad back then the shows didn't have many concert goers as far as Christian metal went. Still was allot of fun though. The remnent that did come got to see bands for 3 days which was epic. We were able to camp at super cheap cabins at Mt Hope 😍

Broken Chromosomes, the song, is very touching with what it is about. It is very powerful with the topic it addresses.

The beginning of the song is like an orchestra tuning up. Ted, the drummer, likes classical music. Ted's dad was a doctor. You heard a cranial drill.

I went to high school in Philadelphia in the mid-late 1990s. Some big dude in my Spanish class, named Josh, had this band name written on his bookbag in black marker. I always remembered him telling me it was a Christian Metal band. Then the Manson song came out. 🧐

Bands like Tourniquet and Believer were not just great Christian Metal, their musical ability stood atop the entire music industry. Same with even the more commercial Metal like Stryper. The stuff these guys played was technically better than almost anything the secular industry had to offer.

TourniqueT = Psycho Surgery album and Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance album. They never made anything better than those 2 albums. Those 2 albums are the best of that band. Those 2 albums are their greatest hits.

Hey man, I have a thought for you. Bloodgood did 2 songs; "Crucify" and "Messiah". They tie directly into one another. Years ago they did a long form concert video.
I have enclosed a youtube link for the 2 songs back to back. I've a couple of thoughts for you. Do a first time reaction with just you. Either play video or just song. This would be perfect around Easter. My other thought would be with your youth group playing the video. Definitely it will minister without a doubt. The lyrics and video are haunting.

Ted was a genius writing every instrument pieces. He just needed musicians to play what he wrote.
