I absolutely agree with all your points. Either way I will definately want to settle, I think my goals and lifestyles aligned so well. Where I live right now is not for me at all🤣🤣
UAE is one of the few countries that I am planning to retire in 8 years times as well as potentially Spain, Portugal, Greece, Indonesia, Thailand, Qatar and Malaysia. Been to Dubai many times and I'll fit in very well there and yes I'm from the UK too
We have an option to move to Dubai from Switzerland (we are from a non-eu country) and I’ve been to Dubai twice and I definitely liked, but have worries with moving. We are living in a fully natural environment and Dubai is artificial, but beautiful as well. And you don’t get citizenship in Dubai, just sponsorship from the companies and if they fire you, you need to turn back to your country immediately as far as I know. So coming with kids would be a risk. And driving in Switzerland is super easy, and most of the time we walk or cycle and in Dubai people drive fast and furious imo🙂 Just wondering about your comments on these. And lastly, climate, which are the hardest months? May to October probably. What would one do with kids? always indoors?
Love all your videos! You mentioned your boyfriend is a PE teacher. A Q&A with him would be super useful! I’m a teacher planning to work in Dubai at some point. I’d love to know about finding the right school to apply to, what school accommodation is like, salaries, work load, what best stage to move to Dubai in your career is, are there young teachers out in Dubai, comparison to working in UK schools etc . X
I am so happy to come across your channel. My family and I are planning to move there this year. Quick question though, how much would you say an American could make in an entry level job? Thanks, looking forward to your reply!
Hi Mabel. I'm a little late to your channel and stumbled on this great video of yours from 2022 - thanks for making it, and I apologize in advance for the lengthy comment. I live and grew up in Canada as a Lebanese Canadian and have thought about a possible move to Dubai in the past. However, I put the thought on hold once I landed my very last job as a Web Development and Content Coordinator for a local university. I thought I had found my place, but I was unfortunately let go very suddenly and unexpectedly, and that prompted me to start considering options outside of Canada - which brought me back to the thought of Dubai. I speak English and Arabic, have over 10 years of education (three undergraduate programs) in Business Insurance, Business Management/Finance, as well as Graphic Design. I worked in the corporate world for many years and in various positions ranging from sales, accounting, and analyst positions (IT/Finance related). I decided to make the career switch to Web Design/Development to pursue a lifelong passion. Aside from the three undergraduate programs I completed in Canada, I also received an International Learning Scholarship that presented me with an amazing opportunity to go to Belgium for a couple of weeks to complete a certificate in 3D Modeling & Printing. Currently, I've been taking downtime to reevaluate things. In the meantime, I do a lot of writing in the self-help space on social media (and have been doing this for about four years now with a highly engaged audience), and I'm in the process of writing my first book. In relation with my social media work, I'm also in the process of launching a Shopify merchandise store. I'd like to think my background and experience is pretty diverse. I just don't know if my background would position me well in a place like Dubai. Given the few details I've mentioned here, I'm wondering if you think there would be opportunities for someone like me in Dubai in 2023 or 2024. If so, where would you recommend I start looking? Also, what would you say is a "good" starting salary in Dubai for the digital/creative field that I'm in, and do employers provide any sort of assistance with the transition if you are successful in being offered a job? So much to consider and not enough room in the comment section lol. Thanks so much for any help you can extend.
