Well, in London everybody asks you about your origins as the majority of us are foreigners, mixed, etc. I met people in London from countries I have never even heard about, and that applies to my students as well, having 57 different nationalities, most of them with more than 1 nationality (as me, their teacher). Regarding cultural and lifestyle offer, London is the same. There is always new places to visit, stuff to do, people to meet... I have been living here for almost 5 years and I can't get enough of this city, even I have been living in other 6 countries within different cities... London is quite expensive but we get paid much more than other teachers in the UK, specially if you work in what is called "inner London" as it is my case. I think it is more worth to ensure a good pension and you guy won't have that, unless you pay a private plan. London is not considered the safest place on earth but I feel pretty safe here and nothing ever happened to me, I go everywhere at any time, sometimes even alone... Nothing happens. About cameras and CCTV here in London is the same, there is cameras everywhere, when I moved here I thought this country was a Big Brother experience. It doesn't help to feel safer, crime happens anyway. In Spain, we are more into putting police in the streets and respond to calls from people, the opposite of here... There are other serious cons of living in Dubai I am not going to mention here, that I wouldn't accept willingly in any situation... Apart from that, taking into account that I hate hot weather, countries with a totalitarian regime where human rights are not in force, etc. I would never ever go there to live, and even less to work. London is best for me, I am staying here for now. At least here we have Jelly Babies, mate! Take care, kind regards.

London is safe? Including daily stabbings, car jacking and robbery? And police takes an hour to arrive or even days to solve the problem? You're having a laugh mate.

The tax free part is good not only from the mathematical standpoint but from a " book " standpoint, much easier to do business there than here in Italy .

The cons I feel you don't want to say it as it is, you are choosing your words carefully. People drive crazily and feel entitled EDP those that drives sports car and have money. They get away with bad bad driving

According to your work visa in UAE, are you able to work for more than one company or have side jobs? For example, if I work as a teacher, but want to tutor on the side for money, then can I legally?

The PROS: Very central to travel to another country. Emirates is VERY expensive from the UAE. Tax free but wages are very low. There is a GST/VAT which is a tax and now a plastic bag tax. It is very safe
There are a lot more CONS than PROS though

I adore Dubai and have been there many times.Even though I live in a hot country, the biggest con or should I say the only one, for me would be the extremely high temperatures in July and August. Also I have a phobia of cockroaches which are numerous there , I imagine ! Otherwise , I would love to live there.

      How is that incorrect english?

    • @huntergray3985

"We use amount of with uncountable nouns. Number of is used with countable nouns:
We use a huge amount of paper in the office every day.
The amount of time it took to finish the job was very frustrating.
A great number of students volunteer each year for environmental projects.
Not: A great amount of students volunteer …
I have a number of things I want to talk to you about."
      (Cambridge Dictionary.)
Or for US speakers of English:
"Number is regularly used with count nouns
      a large number of mistakes
      any number of times
while amount is mainly used with mass nouns.
      annual amount of rainfall
      a substantial amount of money
The use of amount with count nouns has been frequently criticized; it usually occurs when the number of things is thought of as a mass or collection
glad to furnish any amount of black pebbles
      -New Yorker
a substantial amount of film offers
      -Lily Tomlin
      or when money is involved.
      a substantial amount of loans
      -E. R. Black"
      (Merriam Webster Dictionary.)

@@huntergray3985 I see, I did not know this. But now that I do, you could make an argument that he did use it correctly. The things you could do in Dubai could be considered uncountable. By your own example of "amount of paper" technically speaking it is countable, you could count how much paper is used it's not infinite, yet it is ok because it is a lot of paper. The same thing could be said for activities in dubai. You could technically count every single thing you could do in a country but it's a lot so I don't see how he used it incorrectly

    • @BlitzMaul
      @BlitzMaul Год назад

@@huntergray3985 In fact, now that I thin about it, I would argue the things you could do in an entire country is a much bigger number than paper used in an office
