Having lived in Dubai for well over a decade, I can guarantee Dubai is a resourceful city to live in. You will need to immerse yourself in the town and meet people who can put you on, depending on the area you specialise in. I love the magic city!
First clip i saw where the ad has more soul than the destination. Thanks for the other ones, pretty good. The islands btw. are made of local sand. Fine sand, very very fine sand.
I've never been in UAE but I watched a lot of videos. I agree it's very artificial and not suited for life. The only one exception is Masdar City - it's the only well thought out project built for people and not just because they can. I hope it will be a great success and show the world how cities should be designed.
I have been to Dubai many many times since my company had an office there. It's ok just to visit malls for shopping. I really can't find a reason to visit Dubai for tourism, unless one loves sand and heat.
As someone that’s been to nearly 80 countries you could do WAY better….pick any continent and I’ll at least give you a couple better options Although going from Dubai to Kathmandu is one hell of a wealth disparity shock, funny how much more enjoyable the much poorer country is though (as a traveler at least) Also looking at the breakfast buffet at burj Al arab and other similar places….it’s very obvious how a lot of Russian/Eastern European women of a certain age are there, and it’s quite off putting….many promised a certain life and became stuck in various positions along a spectrum that can be very troubling and off putting
You two girls are truly fun. Katusha is a beautiful girl. Hope you´ve turned the page on the fake Russian display episode. Your face was a poem! The Yemeni stands caught my attention though the clip was brief. Nuts and fruit make for an extraordinary combination. The artificial feeling you percieved in Dubai is becoming prevalent in many Western cities. Noise, posters masking the sites, abnoxious illumination, zombie-like people and lack of natural harmony. Given your experience, you´ve become a great quasi-neutral observeress. Cheers, Eli!
I really enjoyed this video Eli. I totally agree with your opinions of Dubai. My cousin worked in Dubai and I went to visit him for 3 days. I think it was the hot season, so I did not enjoy the city of Dubai. I did not see as many things as you did. I just found Dubai too commercial and artificial. I don't think I would like to visit Dubai again.
A city that arose from the desert in 2 decades of real estate speculation run amok is not worth visiting, no matter how pretty the skyline is. The main factor, THE HEAT&HUMIDITY. you mentioned. UGH !

I love Dubai for its multi nationality. Had a chance to meet and interacting with people from various nationality and tribes. It's quite a life experience. Other than that, it sucks tbh. For vacation or adventure, well ok. But to actually live there is quite tough imo, unless you're rich or have a big salary. One thing for sure that you will always be a second or third class resident. Have you ever live in a place that you always feel you don't belong there? Well, that 😊
Eli, I worked in the ME and do not miss it at all. I do live in Dude I, better known as Texas that is hot too, but at least most places identify as Mexican here. We did have a Russian open an Italian food restaurant here in town.
I have not been to Dubai, but for various reasons I never wanted to go there. Although the warm weather like in South America would suit me. As an original European, I would like the climate, quality of life, etc. in Sochi and Krasnodar better. If I wanted to change, I would choose these two cities in Russia. Greetings from Ecuador.
I go to Dubai every few months for leisure travel and there is no other place like it on Earth. I live in Los Angeles, but I would trade that for Dubai any day of the week and twice on Sunday. The cost of living in Dubai is so much cheaper than L.A. and the weather is better, though hard to believe but it is. I like HOT and Dubai in the summer months is boiling. NICE!! Without a doubt, the most beautiful city on the planet.

very interesting and personal point of view video about Dubai; yes, Dubai is very modern but seems to me kind of artificial and you coming from the cold can't tolerate that heat, me neither. By the way, you need a sun tan Eli.
I live in Dubai since 36 years , I have studied and lived in Germany and France and i intensively travelled the world during my career and let me tell you Dubai is way more interesting in many aspects ! First aspect is" Safety " Dubai is probably the safest place on earth , second aspect there is no income Tax , third aspect despite World Depression going on there are still so many opportunities to make money in Dubai . Yes the weather is Hot in summer but one can get use to after all Air conditioning is everywhere, YES I would easily trade Weather and nature for Dubai positive aspects and for Nature and weather Dubai allows me to visit and enjoy many countries worldwide .Dubai ❤Dubai
I live in Dubai too. Yes it's safe.. ..but it is also becouse: bad news are not coming out, shown. Press is not free, it is anyway a monarchy. And there are other places safe in the world, not many, but we have them. Taxes.. true but they get back money from "micro taxing" a lot of stuff from everyday life. So, or u have an high salary, or u have to be very cautious. Middle - low salaries get you access to a lifestyle that can be poor... crowded sharing apartments, or very far districts in the desert. Unless you don't work for a big (international) company, you get tricked on your salary specs.. example: basic salary / other voices RATIO. So when fired, settlement conditions are poor. Middle-low salaries don't allow good self retirement plans.. ..and in Dubai nobody is paying for your retirement.. ..and not everybody is a millionaire. Mostly the opposite. Regarding money.. ..it's a perfect place if you make a lot of money. From an ethical POV it's a city mostly built from dxrty money and MADE for dxrty money. Everybody knows it, but nobody knows it.😉 Weather and air... Yeah. Sun all over the year, mostly. Sometimes the government make it rains on purpose, so they say, using special tech. Many people from April/May, till ~ Sept can't stay outside for more than 2/3 mins. Let's say that you breathe 18-20hrs/day A/C. When you go to sit on your balcony (JBR, Marina) if you are lucky to have a nice view, you always have this 'ground noise' from the MASSIVE A/C systems, from the roofs.. Visiting many countries worldwide... yes. If you are "western born" (Europe, North America, etc). If not.. you might risk to have tricks that only allows you to go back home on your maybe 30 days vacations. Sometimes not to go at all. It's a system built on the skin of 'slxaves' (pakistan, india, iran, etc) that allows you to visit countries worldwide. Everybody knows it, but nobody knows it😉. If tomorrow you have only westerns and Locals in Dubai, will it remain the same, improve... ...or would it collapse down? (this is kinda of the Elephant in the room) If they die, no newspaper, nor internet site, is writing about. When it was mandatory for the companies to give, at least, a basic medical insurance for the slxaves employee, somebody complained. If you are western you might have never seen what they call an "hospital" that covers the poors medical insurance deals. Let's say, something not far from a room with tables and chairs. Veeery different from the hospitals that only rich ppl can access. And thx to this u r allowed to your beautiful life, travelling and go fxcking through tinderx etc. If you are a western, you know that schools quality is super poor, and veeeery expensive. Better to have enough money to send ur kids to study somewhere else, in the world. And yes, there are a lot of lights, watergames, desert activities, drugxs are mostly forbidden. Dubai is amazing.
Living and working in Abu Dhabi for almost 2 years and it’s absolutely amazing: work is great, salary beyond anything you can earn in Europe, mesmerizing cosmopolitan vibe with 200 nationalities , super value for money if you know your way around, lots of nature ( such as mangrove forests) around almost all of the many Abu Dhabi islands (and even in the middle of the city) , wonderful culture and fascinating history, beautiful desert and mountain sceneries and an absolute dream climate (even in summer) with blue skies and sun every single day of the year …which is wonderful if you originate ( like me) from depressing cold, dull, grey, rainy and frosty Nortwestern Europe 🥶. So happy to be here. Only one small disadvantage…..too many Russians find their way down here 😅 even though I’ve got some wonderful Russian friends in Abu Dhabi
Hello, thank-you for your feedback. I am from Canada where it's cold 6 months of the year. Can you outline the expenses ( higher end) for a family of 4( mortgage/ rentals, travel, schooling, entertainment etc). Thank-you again.
I agree with you been living in dubai for 20 yrs.. those who says it ‘s all artificial have not seen the whole of dubai with it’s nature desserts & mountains & oasis and most of all the cleanliness because discipline is practice here, peacefulness with less crime & safety of all where you can walk even in the middle of the night, leave your cars anywhere without being smash or carnap, bags, celphones without the worrries of being stolen.. that’s it .. i just so love living in dubai
You forgot to mention there is no street fights . No drunkards, can leave your car running in the streets with keys on. No racial abuse. Night life. Safety. This girl has no clue what she is talking. She say it's very hot. So what we can still move around 24/7 365 days unlike in Europe in winters you can't hardly go outside
You are amazing and very honest in your opinion sad to hear that they don’t let u film amazing Russian food stalls you should visit Pakistan north Hunza valley
Love Dubai. Called it home for 5 years. However, the moist level and especially the FUNGUS and MOLDS inside buildings (from Deira all the way to Marina)is disastrous . Only brand new and recently finished buildings are exempt from the over growing molds - basically anywhere in the apartment or the office or the shop. The worst is Dubai Mall - I catch more and more shops there covering the smell by spraying scents… even on the main passages of the mall. Another thing - the air quality is poor. If you have even a slightly bad sinusitis or anything with lungs… this is not your place to go. Another thing is : be aware you could get cheated wherever you go (except inside the malls). And last but not least: Covid and Russia-Ukraine war made the prices in Dubai skyrocketing which is not a thing I can accept having on mind the service level did not improve. One thing which is nice is: people are generally kind and polite - the foreign labor are kind and polite as they are forced to be. The majority of them are coming from quite poor countries so they do not want to make ANY mistakes and being sent back home (not just fired from work). This being said - I prefer fake polite than genuine and rude people. As a tourist place Dubai is maybe quite nice. But living there… a few things must improve before I return.
There is some irony in your comment about foreign labor. People who travel to Dubai help keep the kafala system in place. It seems that on the surface, you know about it but you don't care as long as you have a good time in Dubai.
I’m living and still living in Dubai for more than 10 years….just be open minded, Dubai was built for a specific purpose, just enjoy your time and live your life.
I have been to Dubai a few times. Unless you are travelling here on a budget pre plan what you what to see. Also there is a hostel out by the airport if you are travelling on a budget. Only about a hundred meters to the metro train system. If you hav an early flight to the airport just walk out of the hostel and flag down a taxi if you have a flight out. Also if you want to experience a bit more culture travel to some of the smaller communities which have some hostels
Incorrect comment about 'everything opens at 4 pm'. It applies to Global village as its totally outdoors and not suitable to roam about during the day when its very hot. There are tons of activities to do during the day which can start as early as you want. If you want outdoor activities, there are beautiful beaches and parks. All malls are open from 10 am till midnight. There are places which open even earlier and open past midnight. There are also lots of places to eat at pocket friendly prices all around UAE and open beyond midnight and all the cuisines from around the globe. And its the most safest city in the world.
Now i'm curious to hear about how you almost got kidnapped in India. 😅 Seems like many women who visit there have a scary story to tell. Did you travel alone or with a friend?
I would love to buy an apartment in Dubai and visit there often. It’s safe, clean and there are no harsh winters or flooding like in many places today. If it’s too hot every place has air conditioning. There are restaurants with foods from all over the world, there’s every single designer shop and if you want local markets theres souqs everywhere. You meet people from all corners of the world in one place and make lots of cool new friends. And the nightclubs are just next level. You won’t find those pickpockets and bag snatchers like you do in Paris, London, Italy etc either.

Enjoy the beautiful beaches of Boracay, Siargao, Bohol, el Nido , Coron , etc. scenic and cool places like Tagaytay and Baguio. Rent a condo and Stay at the modern and secure location at BGC area in Manila. Lots of expats and people are friendly and hospitable. Cost of rent is around $500-700 a month at the BGC area. $300-500 a month around makati and Quezon City area. Cost if living is very affordable. Hope to see some of your blogs here.
You have 7000+ Islands to explore. Russians don't need a visa to travel to the Philippines.
Hi, you're video are really good, this one or you're in Dubai I love it, you speak English very well and also French congratulations
Having lived in Dubai for well over a decade, I can guarantee Dubai is a resourceful city to live in. You will need to immerse yourself in the town and meet people who can put you on, depending on the area you specialise in. I love the magic city!
That's some honest review i love it 🙌🏼🔥
❤️ From Bangladesh 🇧🇩
You must visit Malaysia. It has all the combination of city life and enjoying the nature. The cost of living there is quite cheap and manageable.
I hope it will be a great success and show the world how cities should be designed.
might be artificial , but it looks fun, clean and quite beautiful.

Eli that was fascinating and a beautiful video, thank you Xx

Ditto!
My dream also.
I think you all should hire a gang to kill Dubai so you may live a happy life 😂😂😂😂
As someone that’s been to nearly 80 countries you could do WAY better….pick any continent and I’ll at least give you a couple better options
Although going from Dubai to Kathmandu is one hell of a wealth disparity shock, funny how much more enjoyable the much poorer country is though (as a traveler at least)
Also looking at the breakfast buffet at burj Al arab and other similar places….it’s very obvious how a lot of Russian/Eastern European women of a certain age are there, and it’s quite off putting….many promised a certain life and became stuck in various positions along a spectrum that can be very troubling and off putting
@André so is nyc and L.A
I always watching your videos, I hope to see you soon here in dubai I have been working here in almost 4 years

Others like more natural settings.
Thanks for the honest feedback, I would have same experience like you. Nature is very important for my travel so ….
That was very joyful. Thank you foruploading:)

Las Vegas has desert as well and cheaper than LA so why flying across the globe for heat.

Hi I am visit Russia next month. Your channel is good. I want to meet next month. Always I love with you ❤️
very interesting and personal point of view video about Dubai; yes, Dubai is very modern but seems to me kind of artificial and you coming from the cold can't tolerate that heat, me neither.
Everybody knows it, but nobody knows it.😉
Weather and air...
Yeah. Sun all over the year, mostly. Sometimes the government make it rains on purpose,
so they say, using special tech.
(this is kinda of the Elephant in the room)
If they die, no newspaper, nor internet site, is writing about.
Very interesting documentation about Dubai. Thank you
I love it! ❤

Еще одно отличное видео Эли.

Which country are you from?
