I can remember the days before the UAE got united. I collected postage stamps back then, and I had more stamps from the countries that now make up the UAE than from any other countries. There is no such language as "Pakistani." Since Hasham's language is so similar to Hindi, I'm guessing his native language is probably Urdu. The relationship between Urdu and Hindi is very similar to the relationship between Serbian and Croatian.
Hello friend I'm from Pakistan In Pakistan we have many languages just as in India there are many different languages But we are united by one language, which is Urdu In Pakistan we call it Urdu In India they call it Hindi
My nephew is a hotel manager in the Emerates. He rives motorcycles, him and his kids ride horses and they have an active look life. If you want to experience the soul you need to get out of the malls. Go to a desert picnic and discover the so many things there. I know my nephew loves it there. Enjoy your trip
The Grand Mosque was quite impressive, but the Starbucks kind of surprised me. One of the best things about the desert in the summer are the warm nights when you can relax, eat and drink outside, after the sun goes down. The desert can have its charm and serenity, but I try to schedule that for winter or spring. Camping in the California deserts in the winter and early spring is very memorable. The nights are cool and the days are perfect. You were very diplomatic at the end and put a nice spin on your visit. Who knows, maybe it will flourish... You're the best Eli! Is fascinating how such a desired place for people in reality has no soul. I was there, thanks Eli for speaking your mind and not only showing tourist places and how wonderful those cities are
Think about what you are saying. People have souls, places do not. Perhaps you mean that connection between people, which of course is more difficult when you don't know many people. And when you walked past a masjid, and heard the athan calling to prayer, it had no affect on you, so perhaps it is you that has no soul? It's just a perspective right? At least the government cares about it's people, and the leader has a vision, and has created a safe country. Now you can list all the other places that fulfill that criteria.
@@SA-cloud Whether you're a Muslim, or not, your thinking is very literal, like most Muslims. Of course, places don't have souls, but it seems that you don't understand figurative speech, (as in a figure of speech). When people talk about the soul of a country, or a city, it's more a figure of speech, than an actual soul, as for humans. But that might be too hard for your mind to imagine, isn't it? I'm not picking on you personally, since this's true for the 99% of Middle-easterners, of whom I'm one, myself, hence, Sci-Fi being the least popular form of entertainment here. As for the government that takes care of its people, yes, I agree with you 100%, because that's the only way that that form of government, as in the whole Middle East region, can actually justify its legitimacy, minus any form of a representative government. So, every Emir, or King, or even President, in this region, must act as father, who takes good care of his citizen-children, even treat them as little children, who must be rewarded for good behavior, and punished for misbehavior. And this probably explains why Middle-easterners in general are of the least emotionally mature people on earth, having the lowest EQ in the world. They live and die as some of the most emotionally retarded people in the world, live and die never knowing the true taste of freedom, live and die never knowing what personal sovereignty is, live and die never knowing what complete independence and self-sufficiency is, live and die never knowing what total self-responsibility, and live and die forever remaining the emotionally-retarded children of their Emir. A society without renewable wisdom, creativity, arts, invention, technology, without ever reaching its full human potential. Oh, but they're so good at recalling and remunerating their past accomplishments, as well as, in imitating Western culture to the extent of following them into the shaft of a lizard (as per the Hadith of the Prophet).
@@kauaimu Wha, so complicated! Don't be so crazy, because, yes democracy is wonderful, but do you really know what's behind it? Take the UK. The people really have little control over their elected representatives. They can walk into the parliament, and lie, you you know it's a lie, but they pretend it's the truth. I am not like others you may happen upon, not at all, for I know much more about this reality than most know is possible. And that isn't just some idol talk. For a moment, imagine what I am saying. Yes, you will meet very few people that really know. Oh, don't jump to conclusions, I'm simply a shadow, I hardly exist, only from time to time, I was made to understand things others do not. Humans can be the most noble of creatures or worst than animals. The race is the same for all, some have decided to understand more than what they eyes deceive them to understand. Some, were rewarded beyond what they deserve, but then, truly, He creates and chooses out of them. We are only here for a short while anyway. Oh, and my imagination is first rate 🙂- I will delete this post, you will not understand.
@@kauaimu you don’t speak for Muslims, Middle Eastern people, or anyone for that matter. You have a personal hatred you just projected on a stranger. Your opinions are very bias. Arabs in general are arguably the smartest people in the world. Just because you’re from ignorant people personally, doesn’t mean you have the authority to speak for all Arabs and or Middle Eastern people. Pathetic. And so very condescending. We are expats living in Abu Dhabi, UAE. We’ve lived here for over a year. Before we came, I watched some RUclips videos talking about how bad and fake this country was. After over a year living here, I fell in love with this place. It all depends on how you live and your perspective. The locals and expats are just normal human beings like you and me. In response to some negative comments, i want to say don’t diminish a country before you even live here for some time. We have a good life here, and my family is very happy to have moved from Switzerland to the UAE. Love UAE❤
4 days in the UAE is enough to expose the graft and sex slave trading ....it's a place of smoke and mirrors really .money hungry bastards are everywhere . The bloody rag head Arabs would sell there own mothers for $3 Tourists whom try to embrace the place are treated as shit with all thier 400 years out of date , Islamic bullshit laws bestowed upon them
At the end of it all, UAE is just a place, like everywhere else, with positive and negative, and people make out UAE has no soul, but everywhere else has a soul. 😒 Also complaining about seeing the sun everyday, whilst some, don't at all mind greeting the sun everyday after having lived in countries where it's grey and cold. So it just depends what you like, and what you are looking for. Every single country started from some point, the UAE is no different. Why do people expect in such a short space of time, it could grow to be perfect in their thinking?
Oh, please, do let's know if you're willing to live the rest of your lives in the UAE, and not move back to Switzerland after you saved all the money you possibly could!

Russia is my favorite country. Moscow is amazing and has nothing to envy to other world capitals such as Dubai, New York etc. Abu Dhabi is nice! If you like people go to Iran, they are amazing and so welcoming.
Dubai is not my cup of tea. It's secured and you can make a lot of money. But too much materialism and luxury. Even the Mosque looks like a piece of luxury. It's missing the spiritual elements. Go to IRAN and SYRIA if you can. You'll experience real culture that goes back thousands of years. And people are the nicest in those countries.
I worked in the UAE for a year back in 1985 and it was certainly a lot different then. No high rise buildings at all. Airports were small, although there was one main highway connecting Abu Dhabi City and Dubai. I was working there in oil exploration, with Geophysical Services Inc., an American company. I was out in the desert most of the time, but as I was the deputy manager, I got to drive the Range Rover we had that had a car phone in it. I remember calling my wife from it, parked on top of a hill to get good reception!
Hey Elii, just having lots of ressources in the ground doesnt mean that your country will become rich. In fact if you look around many countries that have lots of ressources are quite poor. Why that is? That happens when you do not spread the income you generate by selling those ressources to your whole population but a few people use this wealth to become super rich themself. The UAE is one example how to do it right, Norway is a better one. In Norway the profits from the oil and gas are put into a investment fund owned by the state and its population. This has made Norway one of the richest countries world wide. In Russia there are a handful of oligarchs that basically control all the wealth and so not your government can put this money to use. Yes it might have a trickle down effect of some sort, like when an oligrach wants to build a new villa and there is not a good road to the location then he may build a better road so he can go there more comfortably and of course the workers that build the stuff get paid too. But the largest part of his money does nothing to create more wealth in russia. I know for a fact that every € publicly invested in germany creates roughly 10 more €. Example: A new highway is being built. The workers who build it get their wages and buy food and clothing with it. The clothing company can buy new machines or hire more workers and the farmer too. Now the tractor company can do the same and so on. Second big problem of russia is most of the ressources are located in places nobody wants to live in like in the far north or in inaccessible mountains. This leads to increased extraction cost for those ressources and therefore a smaller profit. For example Norilsk Nickel exracts precious metals in Norilsk near the arctic ocean. Nobody would move there without some strong motivation in form of a much better pay. Also machines and infrastructure in those rather extreme locations tend to break down more easy as in warmer climates which all drives up the cost. But Norilsk Nickel cant raise the price for nickel as high as they would like but has to sell it for whatever the current world market price is. Which limits the profit. Add to that that the russian society is basically still in the early 20th century from its development for the largest part. Which is further amplified by the bad russian civil infrastructure (not many roads, no internet in many places) which leads to slow travelling news and only slow travelling people. Factor in that Moscow is basically the center of russia and the rest becomes gradually worse the farther away from Moscow you are means also that not that many people can come together in one place to protest against it. If we germans all would decide that the politcs in Berlin are shit and we want to protest there so they can see our anger for themself we could easily have like 10 million more people there within a day. Could you bring 10 million more people to Moscow if you wanted to protest against your government if you wanted to in 24 hours? I doubt it. All those things make it easier for your elite to control most of the population and also to make many people uninterested in politics cause they fell like they cant change a thing. So is russia responsible for where it is right now? I say yes, you cant control everything like market prices and stuff but if you have next to no will to develop your country and society into something more modern then you will be forever stuck in the past. Which is best represented by your victory parades each year. You are celebrating a victory that was 80 years ago cause you have nothing else to be proud of more recently, sad but true. Nobody else has parades for the victory over the nazis anymore, you know why? We have moved on, nobody really cares that much about something that happened 80 years ago. We usually have to much to do living our everyday life. But the russian backward mentality is what is limiting russia.
I fell asleep reading this diatribe mate, but what i read was sort of a passive aggressive BS attack on Eli. As for the riches of Germany, foreign workers are making the roads. Corporate owned stores foreign owned, are robbing the people who have the money, with extortionist food prices, most of the food stuffs are from overseas. The average German gets Sweet FA from your so called investments in country. Same here in Australia, we are rich, but we have nothing. The foreigners own it all..
I have very fond memories of the UAE. Back in the '90's we could not believe that there were Soft drink vending machines on street corners or how clean, laid back and relaxed it seemed. No idiot would try and Assault me, rob me or stab me because they were on drugs. I loved shopping, risking your life when crossing the Dubai River aboard the Water -Taxis and just the lifestyle. _ Happy Days.
I visit Dubai every year alone , for 8 days... Firstly - the safest country in the world , secondly - cool shopping and wonderful sea. But I would never want to live in UAE ...
You really do do excellent videos, Eli. I had a feeling you'd be going back there after your statement last time 😂 glad you did, really interesting seeing you trying the place out in more depth.
Greetings from the UAE! The UAE is full of history and local culture if you go to the right places. Your guide showed you his UAE through his culture of Pakistan. As he stated, the UAE comprises a wide range of nationalities who live peacefully within the Emirates, and that is attributed to the great government we have here. The UAE is welcoming to all and is probably the most generous nation on earth. There is a large Russian community here. It would have been fun if you went to a Russian restaurant here. The UAE may not be your cup of tea, but it is a nation of residents who thank God every day that they are privileged to live here.😊.

If I didn't tell you months ago, I will tell you now: you are an exceptional person. I hope for the sake of the world that you find a place where that talent is free to create and share.
When I visited Dubai in 2015 I didnt get to see or do anything bc I was sick and some other personal reasons but I too did not enjoy it. I also felt its only shopping malls and busy city buildings etc. Everything was far and had to walk alot or drive alot so it was really miserable. I am like you in that I prefer a place with nature and locals sharing their cultures not shiny new buildings
Having 2 such lovely friends in Dubai Eli puts back all the character that Dubai normally hasn't got, not lost, as it never has had character. Hasham's Urdu is entwined so much with Farsi, that being a Farsi speaker one can very basically communicate with a Urdu speaker. Depending on his accent Hasham may not agree with that, but I have no problem using Farsi when ordering food in a Pakistani restaurant. I'm Australian but learnt to speak Farsi in the South West of Iran (1970's), with heavy Kurdish overtones and an Aussie accent to add flavour😳 Eli you'd be surprised how many Russian, or Slavic words are in Farsi, but unfortunately not enough to communicate with. Dubai, the city, is sterility on steroids, ugh!! All that desert is where the character of Dubai (the UAE) lays, under the stars with the noises of the animals and birds of a night, such natural beauty. Hot of a day, yes, but so what. The desert people have so much traditional culture, however finding them in their traditional camps can be a problem but their hospitality is beyond reproach. Sharing a cup of tea with them is quite priceless. As usual with all your videos Eli, this video is factual and faultless.🙏🙏💗💯

I get the same feeling when there. People like their own community hubs there and get their sense of belonging. You can find locals if you stay there long enough and you will get invited in to their homes, that is where the magic is.
You've been very diplomatic Eli, but I think that the reason you don't like it is that it's fake or should I say not genuine. If you want the opposite of that, go to Sultanate of Oman, you'll be amazed.

There is no such language as "Pakistani." Since Hasham's language is so similar to Hindi, I'm guessing his native language is probably Urdu. The relationship between Urdu and Hindi is very similar to the relationship between Serbian and Croatian.
Yep hasham speaks Urdu , it’s very similar to Hindi
Hello friend
I'm from Pakistan
In Pakistan we have many languages just as in India there are many different languages
But we are united by one language, which is Urdu
In Pakistan we call it Urdu
In India they call it Hindi
Urdu and Hindi are the same language. One language was loaded with Arabic and Persian and the other with Sanskrit words. Grammar is 100% the same.
Yes, if you listen carefully he corrected her. I'm not sure if he was that happy when she suggested Urdu was like Hindi!

Is fascinating how such a desired place for people in reality has no soul. I was there, thanks Eli for speaking your mind and not only showing tourist places and how wonderful those cities are
I agree, I wouldn't travel there. Only if it was for work but I wouldn't go sightseeing or living there.

The bloody rag head Arabs would sell there own mothers for $3
Tourists whom try to embrace the place are treated as shit with all thier 400 years out of date , Islamic bullshit laws bestowed upon them
At the end of it all, UAE is just a place, like everywhere else, with positive and negative, and people make out UAE has no soul, but everywhere else has a soul.
Thanks for the boot-on-the-ground reality test.

Thank you for another very interesting video. And very informative as well. We get the opportunity to visit these places with you as you travel and share your experiences with us. I really appreciate that.
I spent some time in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait when I was younger and yes I agree, it can get very very hot there. But, the people always treated me with respect, so I cannot say anything bad. It is always very nice to experience different cultures and try their foods.
As always Eli, thank you for such a beautiful outlook on life, you are so refreshing, and gorgeous as well. ❤️
Russia is my favorite country. Moscow is amazing and has nothing to envy to other world capitals such as Dubai, New York etc. Abu Dhabi is nice! If you like people go to Iran, they are amazing and so welcoming.
Great video Eli as usual, you're a natural at this!
Welcome to UAE , I’m local guy watching ur videos. Great videos you’re making 😊. If you want to know more about UAE, let me know
Hey Elii, just having lots of ressources in the ground doesnt mean that your country will become rich.

I agree with you three when you say that the UAE is too distant from nature, it is as though the country has no soul. Nature, green fields and woods, are important for me. Your last comment is perfect!
The problem is UAE is a desert country and if they don't have nature its not their fault but still they did an amazing Job to develop it.
In this case, desert is nature. lot hidden beneath
I am from Pakistan good to see a Pakistani man in the video 😁😎
Thank you 😊 we recently visited Pakistan and video is in our channel
You should try Tel Aviv, the most Russian city in the world outside of Russia - 20% of the people from Russia or the former USSR - and a very hip and fun city on the sea.
You say you like raw, adventurous, real places. I would like for you to experience eastern Ukraine right now. Thanks to your countrymen, it is very raw and adventurous.
We will definitely come, after complete demilitarization and denazification
I always like your videos, the way you explain both sides of the story very well, without offending, its your gift in skill. You also speak your mind clearly, that comes through. Thankyou
Any language learnt between ages 6-12 is never forgotten. It is like learning another mother tongue.
"After age 12, both areas of growth fall off, which marks the end of the critical period for learning languages (i.e., if language is learned after age 12, the speaker will speak with an accent)."
there are people who successfully speak a second language with a native accent as adults
Like always you do it with respect and heart. So it´s fine to see warmhearted people again. Thank you!
