@Floating Lizard yes and no. Iphone is only one way satellite communication. Also only in supported countries. inreach is 2 way + worldwide + can stay almost a month on battery(while tracking)

Although i hate the fact that the Anytone AT-D878UV II Plus does not have a decent UI for the APRS RX Weather reports, prints the data in plaintext and does not even provides the ability to change from Fahreneit to celcius. It needs a quick fix in its firmware.
