Outside of the Last of Us, which is scaled down from 1080p, everything else performed reasonably well with that resolution. Yes the GTX 1050Ti had it's time in the sun, but it's fa from obsolete in my opinion!
trust me i got an optiplex 9020 with 16 gigs of ram and an i7 4770. Only difference is i got a used GTX 1080. got it used for $120 literally can run almost everything at ultra 1080p 60fps so far and im content. Shouldve gotten the GTX 1080TI for $150 used, the little bit of power bump was highkey worth the 20 bucks.
I would say yes, with the GTX 1050 Ti having a slight edge as it was designed for gaming. But I suppose it would really depend on what you are using the card for.

Old is not necessary a bad things. Old but gold, sometimes old can still a good things, such as rx 570/580 and gtx 1060.

The 1080 is an awesome card still. 1080 Ti even better. My 2016 PC had an i7-4770 & GTX 1070 combo.
Problem is that if your psu can able to handle it, cuz 1080 ti have 250w tdp and dell optiplex often dosen't have high power psu
1050ti is amazing, i use a 1660 ti still and its still able to run almost every game, apart from the not optimized games like ark survival acended.
I haven't tested a 1660 Ti yet, maybe I'll start taking a look for one!
