A custom hearing will as the microphones are in the ear vs on top, which gives a natural directionality effect like your ear did when hearing was normal. A completely in the canal hearing aid is going to give the best directionality as it goes deeper in the ear
I want to get the Genesis IIC to replace my old Sound Lens, but I need a new canal impression. I have to find someone who uses the 3D scan technology so I can get a really deep impression. Putting silicone that close to the ear drum is too dicey for me.
Hi have you called Starkey to see who does 3D impressions near you? Otherwise they can use you old scan from the sound lens. Whoever orders the new devices need the serial numbers from your current Starkey aids. If you have not had dramatic weight loss or injury to your ears they should work just fine!
@@siouxfallsaudiologyassocia7609 Thanks for replying. Yeah, I have the old impression (15 yrs now) and it works. I feel very lucky to have gotten a good, deep silicone impression the first time. It actually stung a little, that's how close it was. I hope these 3d devices get out there because IIC is so nice and for it to work you have to get that very deep impression. I had 2 impressions after that (both for Starkey IICs) and they were way off. The IICs were not invisible. No one seems to want to talk about the problem, but now that scanning tech exists, I hope companies like Starkey go full blast in making it inexpensive for audiologists to get. But again thanks, I appreciate the reply.
In your opinion Dr. Mandy, would an ITE hearing aid provide better wind noise relief than a BTE hearing aid? Thanks.

Does the va have them ? I’m 100 per cent disabled
I am guessing they will be on contract in September
it would be best to have a 312 battery
