This by far is one of the better videos to follow for fixing Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working in W 7 or 8. Frequently these problems are caused by 'add-ons', usually put there when another program, usually something free like a coupon or gaming or gambling type website, where the user is unaware that an additional tool bar has been added. The only other possibility not mentioned in this video, is under 'Advanced' the very first item under Accelerated Graphics, you can try clicking "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering", this may help. Also, you can get to the options mentioned in this video if you have the toolbar showing on Internet Explorer. If it is not showing, right-click on just below the URL address box (Where it reads www.abc.com or whatever) and then left click on Menu Bar. Then click on tools and go down to "Manage add-ons", then go to the bottom Internet Options and click on Advanced for the other items, including the Reset.... However, if you reset your browser you will lose a lot of things you have saved on your browser, but that may be very necessary in order to get IE to work properly, and you can always put them back as you go.
Thank you thank you thank you, I have been struggling with my explorer crashing for the past 4 months, after watching your video and installing the adwcleaner, my problem is fixed :) I was so close to perform a complete system reformat and risk loosing all my data. Thanks Again. Cheers,,,
Thank you. I have noticed my laptop being faster after the fix you suggested. The only problem I have now, is that Internet Explorer browser keeps on opening by itself, nomatter how many times I close it. This is the address that shows in the search bar: res://aaResources.dll/104 and this is what it says: This page can’t be displayed: •Make sure the web address res://aaResources.dll is correct. •Look for the page with your search engine. •Refresh the page in a few minutes. Any idea what this is and how to stop it for good? I use Chrome.
You can also access that area utilizing the "Internet Options" short cut in your control panel. Just make sure you set your "View By" to either Large or Small Icons first.
Thank you so much! This problem had been driving me mad for months and nothing I tried seemed to work. Your video fixed it in 10 mins. Cheers.
