I last tested it on January 2024 on a Samsung Galaxy S7 phone. It seems the quick-shortcut app is not in the playstore anymore. But this is no problem just download an older apk. For my S7 the version 2.4.0 worked I downloaded it from apkmirror. Then I type in the search field of QuickShortcutMaker the word "GearVR" or scrool to the list as shown in the video and in the list click on one of the shown GearVR Services (for me it was the one before the last one in the list) it opens the GearVR installer. Then just follow the steps in the video. www.apkmirror.com/apk/sika524/quickshortcutmaker/quickshortcutmaker-2-4-0-release/quickshortcutmaker-2-4-0-android-apk-download/download/?key=2fff8e73316e7dfffcafcd96a3c5818c4e8fe15c However after doing this I can not login to my GearVR account anymore. I can still start Samsung's VR Internet browser and gallery just fine. This means as long as you can find the Apk's you should be able to run them, just like the Samsung GearVR apps which come preinstalled. This reddit post shows how to get all the apk files installed on your phone www.reddit.com/r/QuestPiracy/comments/jcvfzo/the_definitive_quest_piracy_guide/ I haven't tested it since I am already on Quest 3 and dont need it but it ciukd be a work around to gett al the apks i stalled without the need to login into facebook. Would apreciate if someone who wants to test it out writes a comment below this pinned message and tells us if it works out.
@@-IWatchShorts- Great question. Currently I think the biggest issue is to get the apps to run since suppprt has been droped and login to the GearVR might not be possible anymore. But if you get the GearVr apps to run on your device often they can be controlled by head movement and taping or looking at the button you want to interact with. When in GearVR development mode taping the screen is recognised as taping the touchpat or controller and many apps can be controlled this way by taping the screen. When the phone is in the GearVR it is normaly not possible to tap the screen. But on Google Cardboard V2 they used a little lever to touch the screen. You could do this as well DIY style drilling a hole in the Gear VR to allow you to access the screen to tap it. Maybe using a spring from a pen or somthing to retract the tapping tool.
Thanks for sharing. Just note that the SM-R322 adapter does not remove by snapping off. There are a ton of tiny screw you will need to carefully remove. I was able to find here: ruclips.net/video/3hzZqkYHxEA/видео.html; However, in his video he missed 2 screws that also need to be removed which are behind the black sticker opposite the focus knob. I'm glad I was able to find all the pieces to make this work so Thanks again!
Cool video. Just FYI I tried this on Gear VR Model SM-R322 and I had to rip the Micro-USB adaptor cable out. It is not as easy to take it out like it is in this video. Also learned that My Galaxy S9+ does not properly fit in the Gear VR after I removed the USB adaptor.
Interesting. Have you removed some ot the plastic of the case to fit the phone in? Also are the lenses and the distance to the phone correct so the image is sharp?
@@VR_Wizard I haven't actually tested the image yet. I've ordered the remote controller now to test it out. I'll have to figure out a way to securely fit the phone in it. I've removed the removable plastic part like you did in the video but that wasn't enough to fit the S9+
@@VR_Wizard I was actually able to fit my S9 plus into the Gear VR without breaking it haha. The image quality is fine with some adjustment. Thx for your video man. Inspired me to make some use of my old gear VR with the new phone :D

GearVR has lost all suppport expect it to break in multiple ways. Currently it is not even guaranteed that phones who had support in the past work at.all with gear Vr. You can still use chardboard VR which is not very good. I recommemd looking at Quest 2 if you want to get into stand alone VR on a budget.
@@VR_Wizard I want to use RiftCat with the Samsung GearVR, but the USB connection it´s not a pass-through, so I can't connect the Smartphone directly to my PC. Sry if I can't explain myself very well I'm not a native english speaker xD
The old headsets dont have switchable connectors. Here taking out the micro usb port and using the method shown in the video would work to make the compatible with new usb c devices. But the old VR Glasses where build for smaler phones so your new device might not fit. You can always cut away the plastic to make it fit if you realy want to use the old headsets.
Thanks a lot you are a genius you realy save me. I bought a secend hand gear vr 3 that came with only usb type c adapter and my phone galaxy s7 is micro usb and i cant find it here in morocco. Im very happy now thanks again
I have some questions, 1) What's the purpose of micro usb in gear vr 2) will track pad of gear vr works fine with non samsung device ? 3) how trackpad is actually working ?
1) older devices came with micro usb new devices switched to usb-c leading to compatibility issues 2) without a compatible device and the right android firmware noting will work. 3) it wont but you can use the controller which is the prefered input anyways.
Thank you for the video. I just got me a gear vr where I will have to make this surgery :) It's good to get high on DIY !!! Greetings from BAVARiA; Yours ART FLY
Have you solved your issue. Most often the issue I see here is that people try to get it to work with an unsupported phone. Which doesn't work and I haven't seen a solution to make it work on unsupported phones.
I am sorry guys but nope. I am using just the goggle itself without gear right support and the usual means to make the mobile phone receive stream from the PC. If you want to know how you'll have to search YT there are several tutorials about apps which provide that service. Stay Safe folks & Greetings from BAVARiA, Yours ART FLY []-)
Yes GearVR works with some game pads. The gear vr controller however is the best input device not many apps benefit from a game pad. I think minecraft is one of the few games that works best with a gamepad.
Should work if the phone still runs the gear vr software and you can login to access the gear vr software on your phone. Software support is the problem nowdays modefying the headset is the easy part.
Yes it still works on all supported devices. Its no longer updated so bugs are not getting fixed. One bug I see all the time is that when you want to install apps in the GearVR Oculus store you need to search them in the search bar you cant install them via the Oculus App main page.
Wow, thank you! That is a great solution because my phone doesn't react when I connect through USB, so I was upset that I can't use Gear VR anymore. Now I'm happy that I still can!
Friend, can you use that control to control the volume of the cell phone and to go back in any application? That is, it can be used as a kind of mouse to control a cell phone currently? i have a s20 fe
That's a good question, it works for sure if you are running a vr game but I am not sure if it still works when you put the VR software in the background. Maybe you can put the app in the background but keep it running using an other app. Unfortenatly I cant test it myself since my Gear compatible phone is gone.
I never tried iVRy but you probably play the pc games with a bloothoth controller connected to the PC or with mouse and keyboard. When running GearVr in developer mode you can touch the screen which is recognised as if it where a touchped click or a click with the gear vr controller so even without connecting or having the gearvr controller you can interact with the apps by touching the screen. Of course touching the schreen is not a good option if the phone is inserted in the headset but as long as you only need to interact with the gear vr to set it up you dont need a controller or a connection to the gearvr headset and you can controll everything by touching the screen in when the gear vr apps run in developer mode.
The S20 has no GearVr support the S9+ should have all the gearvr apps shown in the video installed and the trick should work (if your s9 hasn't got an A droid update that removed GearVR supoort). I am not sure of all the dimensions and phone size combinations m possible maybe you find the answear online. But you can always remove some plastic to make it fit. There should be no problem with the lense spacings I belive they stayed the same so to support all the different phone combinations, but I am not 100% sure about that.
Yes but if your phone is to large for the old model you might need to remove some plastic. You can check the size of your phone and compare it to the phones which are listet as compatible with the headset you found for little money
@@VR_Wizard thx for answer. Have one extra question: with this method buttons and touchpad of gear vr still working, or it can be only achivable by usb connection?
@@Boi-ud3dk The buttons will no longer work. But the GearVr Controller is the better input device anyway and many games require the GearVR controller. Without the controller the Hack is not very helpful since you don't have a good input method. Maybe some Controller emulators or a Bluetooth game-pad could also be used as an input device but I haven't tested that.

I'm using my old galaxy S8 with gear vr sm-r325. It won't let me connect using Facebook saying my password is incorrect... is it because I don't have a sim card in the s8 anymore?
Simcard should not be the problem seems to be an issue with the facebook / oculus account that you try to use to log in. There where changes made to switch from Oculus to meta accounts but I am not sure if they break the gearvr login. Unfortenatly I cant test this and give you a better answear since my only gearvr capable phone was stolen and I am only using Quest 2 for vr at the moment.
The s21 ultra is not supported by the GearVR. You can only ise Chardboard VR which is not very good. I recommemd looking at Quest 2 if you want to get into stand alone VR on a budget.
There is a problem i couldn't find gear vr setup wizard in quick shortcut maker app on my phone Samsung Galaxy note 9 and my vr is SMR - 322 . What should I do? Please help
Might be that the latest firmware update removed GearVR Support for you phone. Android 12 for the Galaxy S10, S10+ S10e and S10 5G will begin rolling out in December, 2021, and Gear VR will no longer be supported on devices that update to Android 12. if you are not in android 12 and note 9 is gear vr compatible it should work.
Is this possible if I haven't installed the software on my phone previously? I can't find gear VR in the quickshortcut app.. I was given it by my friend but he lost the controller..
Not sure what you mean exactly. But by using the developer mode as shown in the video the usb port is free to be used for what ever you want it for. For example charge the phone while being in vr or connect your pc to it and read out the device or stream the vr content via the cable to your connected pc.
Wow thats amazing! Thanks to that tutorial i can put my Gear VR model 2016 (the most oldest) to my s8+ (its a biggest phone and i use the A-B support open it to stuck the phone haha, and thanks to developer mode i can run the app... just i take over the usb port for make more space , also now im reading how i can control them cause the magnet doesnt work idk why (i can understand the buttons not works cause the usb are not pluged in but anyways) i try to control them with a ps4 joystick haha
I used the seperate GearVR controller which is needed for many of the good games anyway. True the touchpad wont work after removing the connector. Not sure which magnet you mean? Google Cardboard used a macnet but not GearVr as far as I know.
No the trackpad wont work, therefore a controller is importend. You can also tab the screen simulating the touchpad action but with the phone plugged in that's not a good way to interact with the content 😉
Hello! Is it possible to lead through an external usb cable to the attached phone? I would like to use the VR but the phone must be also connected to a device through USB. As I see there is no place to plug in a cable to the Gear VR.
Can you tell me what you trying to do, I don't realy understand the question since the idea of this hack is to use GearVR without the need to plug it into anything. You dont even need a GearVR headset for this to work.
@@VR_Wizard my guess is that he wants the usb port on his phone to be accessible while the phone is mounted in this way, is it possible, I'd like to know too
The Note 10 is not a GearVR ready device. So the short answear is no. Longer answear: My trick works since Samsung preinstalled the GearVR software on GearVR ready devices. This means here we just activade the hidden installer, but we do not install the installer itself, that was done by Samsung in the factory. Maybe rooting your phone and installing a custom ROM from a GearVR compatible device would work but I haven't looked into it and rooting the phone has some drawbacks as well. So I wouldn't put to much hope in ever getting GearVR running on your phone. You can still run Cardboard apps, but currently they are not very good.
I never saw this error before. And it makes not much sense because the headset is not getzing any updates ant the whole idea of the video is how to run GearVR apps without connecting to the headset. So not sure what all this means. Unfortenatly I have no good answear for this issue if you find an answear please post it here so others can benefit from your findings.
Hi, i have note 9, i already try to download the gearvr setup wizard but it says network error ocured so i cant install it, is note 9 not compatible with the program? I have the sn r322 series from my note5 days
The Note 9 is compatible so it should work. Which GearVR model you use is not so important as long as the phone fits. Not sure where the network error comes from. In the short cut maker app there are a few Gear VR programs to choose from like the "Gear VR Service" and in my case there are multiple "Gear VR SetupWizard" Buttons since I repeated the step while making the video. try around with the different option and see if one of them works. Let us know if you found a solution, because I am not sure what else to do than to follow the steps in the video.
@@VR_Wizard nice, one of the gear vr service list can do the magic trick too lol, thanks alot for the heads up, finally i can use it after 3 years neglected it
If you have the USB-C adapter build in there are no adventages. Only if you have one of the older GearVR which comes with a micro-USB adapter you can use the trick shown and you dont need to buy the adaptor to use the phone with one of the newer phones which have a USB-C adaptor.
@@VR_Wizard Got it. Thanks a lot Christoph. I was wondering if it might drastically improve battery life.. perhaps it would by still bypassing? Does the remote still work as normal when in developer mode?
@@VR_Wizard hi, just wondering if you can help me. I just got the Samsung Ultra s22 and want to play VR. Is there a VR headset that will fit and could I use the same set up you've used in this video? @@titmusspaultpaul5 Most modern phones have more than enough power to run VR especially the S22 but as you said there is no support by Oculus anymore and GearVR wont work. Chardboard VR works but is much less polished and optimized as Gear VR was. So I fear there is no good phone VR option avaiailable on the market anymore. Getting a Quest 2 for amazing VR is my recommendation
I am not so familiar with the custom ROM scene and what it can do. I think in principle it is possible to get it work by simulationg a supported device. I used Custom ROMs in the past to get Daydream Running on my phone which did not support Daydream but the results where not very good. So I don's expect it to be easy. But to be honest I don't know maybe someone found a workaround to get it work with other phones but I never heard about a working solution
That's a question I asked myself too. I don't have a S20 so I could only look for peoples records online, but it seems like people tryed the step I showed in the video with an S20 or other Android phones and nobody seemed to have got it working. I don't know what's missing and why this doesn't work, seems like Samsung has set up the phone to be compatible via its software. I know this sucks and is just sad. Maybe rooting your phone and installing a S10 custom ROM would help but that is a lot of work and no guarantee to be a success. I think Google Cardboard is your only option left to experience some VR on this great phone right now. But I might have something interesting for you to try. Some time ago I developed a demo VR app to showcase 6DoF positional headtracking on Chardboard using ARCore and the phone camera. You can just download the apk and see how much potential is hidden in Cardboard VR. It is just a demo and might be buggy sometimes so don't expect to much but I think it is very interesting. github.com/ChristophGeske/ARCoreInsideOutTrackingGearVr/raw/master/BoxyRoomCardboard.apk
@@gregoryvlachos4944 The market value of the GearVR is around 25$. It's outdatet technology by now. You can still use Cardboard Apps with it but they are not very good in my opinion. The Quest 2 is the new VR Standard nothing comes even close in terms of price and performance.
since keeping your Galaxy phone charged while plugged into the GearVR isnt possible because Samsung disabled it due to the exploding s7 debacle, does this trick open up the possibility of being able to charge your phone while using GearVR in any way? battery case? modified adapter?
Yes charging the phone while in VR is possible but you need to modify the GearVR headset a bit more than what I did in the video so you get the cable to your phone. Maybe an angled cable end would make it easier, but haven't tested it. I didn't even know that charging via the GearVR was disabled. For my S7 it worked, last time I used it. So if you are right this must have be introduced after the Note 9 exploding debacle and possibly only some models have disabled charging or it came via a software update that my S7 never recived.
Should fit it is compatible with most Samsung phones execpt the very large note models. But I am not 100% sure maybe google it quickly before placing the final order.
I got a C adaptor for £5 from ebay and it works perfectly with my S10+ even though Samsung told me that generation of Goggles would not work with the S10+!
The S20 series is no longer supported I don't think there is a way to get it running on your phone. There might be a slight chance by rooting the phone and installing a S10 ROM but I would not go that route. Instead I would recommend looking at a real vr headset like the Quest 2.
@@benniemeiring4165 For smartphone VR I would recomend the S8 it is compatible with Daydream and GearVr and has enough processing power to not overheat. But it gets harder to recommend with the Quest 1 getting very cheap on the second hand markets and being so much better than smartphone VR in terms of software and hardware.
Yes that should work. Google Cardboard has a QR code scanner build in, you can google the qr code for gearvr and cardboard will adjust the screen image to gearvr lenses. But it should also work well out of the box without a qr code. Remember that cardboard is not as good as gearvr the tracking is worse, there are not many apps and most are very experimental and you don't have the option to add a 3dof controller.
@@Tachikomaster yeah, it fits. I've just tested it. But you'll need to do some adaptations, for example, the connector can't be placed because the S20 FE is too big and the phone will fall off.

Max size left to right border of you phone 7.7cm but in principle you can always make it bigger using some tools to remove the plastic. Max size top to bottom 15cm. Hi. When do you experience the network error? Starting the GearVR/Facebook app or running a VR app/game? It should not have anything to do with the set up method presented in the video. At least I dont see how a network error could be caused by not plugging the phone into the VR headset.

The controller helps you interact with the virtual world it is 3DoF only. Newer Devices like the Quest 2 have 2 controllers for booth hands and they are better tracked in 6DoF so they are much more versitile.

Your phone is not supported and even the supported phones lost support so installing anything and tunning it got much harder. Try cardboard. Its free but not very good. Have a look at the Quest 2 on the used marked or even the Quest 3 for the best mobile VR experiance
Sorry to hear that. Have you looked into the Oculus Quest 2 it's so much better than smartphone VR and quite affordable. Maybe you can give it a try in a electronic store.
I think it will fit my S10 fits and there is lots of space in horizontal and vertical direction, but better double check online. Since the 323 comes with a micro-usb connector you need an usb-c adapter or simply follow the steps in the video.
You don’t need the sensor since the phones have high quality IMUs build in. I compared the performance with and without the headset plugged in and could not percive a difference, but I haven't measured it. Have you measured it to proof your claim? I can only speak of my experience. Also check out the Google Daydream headset it only uses the phone sensor and works fine too.
Should be installed on your GearVr Compatible device. With the exception of the S10 whith the latest update, because one of the 2021 Android Firmware Updates removed GearVR support which removed the app from all the phones accepting the update.
@Haga Mahardika Samsung phones got an Update that removed GearVR support, so it might not work if you installest the latest updates. You might be able to roll back to an old firmware update but I havent tested it so no garanty it works and i am not sure how easy it is to install an older firmware. You can still run any Google Chardboard apps and put your phone in the GearVr googles, for watching 360 and vr videos. The youtube android app has a vr button in the settings. Look for a vr 180 video and ther will be a vr button shown on the bottom of the video. Other videos that are not vr can also be watched in vr by enable the VR mode in the video settings.

I have some questions,
1) What's the purpose of micro usb in gear vr
2) will track pad of gear vr works fine with non samsung device ?
3) how trackpad is actually working ?
No, trackpad wont work, the proximity sensor when taking the headset off wont work...its basically a cardboard without usb connection
1) older devices came with micro usb new devices switched to usb-c leading to compatibility issues
2) without a compatible device and the right android firmware noting will work.
3) it wont but you can use the controller which is the prefered input anyways.

Maybe you can put the app in the background but keep it running using an other app. Unfortenatly I cant test it myself since my Gear compatible phone is gone.
So, i could use the gear vr without needing to connect it ? I want to use for pcvr with ivry but the controller part really concerns me,
I never tried iVRy but you probably play the pc games with a bloothoth controller connected to the PC or with mouse and keyboard.

Might be that the latest firmware update removed GearVR Support for you phone.
Android 12 for the Galaxy S10, S10+ S10e and S10 5G will begin rolling out in December, 2021, and Gear VR will no longer be supported on devices that update to Android 12.

Sounds to me as if you have the wrong phone model. Is it a GearVR compatible Samsung galaxy or note phone you are using?
Is it possible somehow the USB still to be used without triggering the oculus app?
Not sure what you mean exactly. But by using the developer mode as shown in the video the usb port is free to be used for what ever you want it for. For example charge the phone while being in vr or connect your pc to it and read out the device or stream the vr content via the cable to your connected pc.
If you remove the adapter does it work with any phone
unfortenatly not. only the supported phones will work

Can you tell me what you trying to do, I don't realy understand the question since the idea of this hack is to use GearVR without the need to plug it into anything. You dont even need a GearVR headset for this to work.
@@VR_Wizard my guess is that he wants the usb port on his phone to be accessible while the phone is mounted in this way, is it possible, I'd like to know too
Amazing. I'm wondering if this would work on my note10 ! Any idea ?
The Note 10 is not a GearVR ready device.
So the short answear is no.
Longer answear:
My trick works since Samsung preinstalled the GearVR software on GearVR ready devices.

I'm thinking about adapting my old Gear VR to use it as a fancy Google Cardboard for my S20 FE. Is this possible?
Yes that should work. Google Cardboard has a QR code scanner build in, you can google the qr code for gearvr and cardboard will adjust the screen image to gearvr lenses. But it should also work well out of the box without a qr code.
Remember that cardboard is not as good as gearvr the tracking is worse, there are not many apps and most are very experimental and you don't have the option to add a 3dof controller.
Hi! Im thinking about getting GearVR for my S20FE and doing surgery on it.
Does it physically fit?
@@Tachikomaster yeah, it fits. I've just tested it. But you'll need to do some adaptations, for example, the connector can't be placed because the S20 FE is too big and the phone will fall off.
@@Vitor3dx Thank you for the info!
I'm currently looking for a headset to fit my phone to get some experience with VR for cheap. There are a lot of aftermarket options, but I think that the GearVR is the best buy for the price that I can get a second-hand unit. And I'm not afraid to do some modifications :)
What version of GearVR do you have?
Does it work with A models? I just cant use with my A90 5g
No only some of the Samsung Galaxy S and Note models. Have a look at Oculus Quest 2 instead for a great start into VR.

You can check here which phone fits in which GearVR model. www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/which-galaxy-smartphones-are-compatible-with-which-gear-vrs/
The biggest phone that fit without modifications is the note 9.
Modifing the GearVR in the area of hight and with is possible but you will need to cut away some plastic.
You cant connect the gearvr controller to an unsupported device. Also you wont be able to run gearvr apps on an unsuported device. Only option that always work is google cardboard VR which is not very enjoyable.
The daydream controller would work in combination with the daydream app you found but your phone needs to be daydream ready otherwise you are out of luck and cant start the game and can't connect the daydream controller. --> there are some rare exceptions where people got daydream apps run on their unsupported phones but I would not count on it to work.
@@jamalasalat3660 I am not sure why that is. Are there any other entries mentioning gearVR in the QuickShortCutMaker? Also importend to mention the Galaxy S10e does not support GearVR only the normal S10 models do.
With the S-R325, can I watch vidoes which i have downloaded locally without any need for an app
You can use your gear vr headset in combination with any phone when using a carboard movie player. RUclips has this mode build in under setting watch in VR then put the ohne in the headset without connecting. However if you wanna play your own videos you need an app to create the image for booth eyes. You cozkd also upload them to youtube and then use the watch in VR mode as a garanteed way to make it work but getting a vr video player app seems to be the best option.
@VR_Wizard thanks dude, what would be a good vr video player and where do I find them?
@@flyinghorse2739 I only know Skybox was once great but that was a gearvr player i am not sure if that one is compatible with your phone. can we use controller with any version?
Yes the controller is not dependant on the headset and works with all versions.
Where can I get an adapter for iPhone?
Unfortunately iPhone only support Google Cardboard which is not worth installing if you ask me. I would recommend you to get an Oculus Quest 2 which is currently the best VR headset you can get for little money.
How do I prompt the Oculus app to pair my Samsung remote?
Frecal from my memory that you connect the controller via bluetooth to your phone first. To pair the controller hold the menu button untill the lED flashes. Then the GearVR app on your phone should recognise the controller.
Where can I get one of these adapters
Maybe you find one online google Samsung Gear VR SM-R325 Type C Adapter. Find one for your gearvr model like SM-R325. But not all gearvr models have replaceable adaptors so cjeck your model first.
Does that app u download no longer exist?
It has the same name but a new design play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shortcutq.maker
Havent tested if it wotks the same way as with the old versuon but you can always google for the apk file and download the old version.
I tried it with my Samsung A34 phone the android not allowing to download the software
That is expected because the Samsung A34 was never GearVR supported. Smartphone VR is very broken currently its hard to get it to work even on the phones that once where supported. I recommemd Quest 2 (very cheap on the used marked) it is so much better then smartpohe VR. Or get a Quest 3 if you have the money.

I havent tested if it still works as shown in the video but if it doesnt work with the new version you can always google for the apk file and download the old version again.
Can you use the Samsung controller?
Yes it was possible when I did the i itial tests. I even recommend it since the touch pad doesn't work if the headset is not physically connected to the phone. Not sure if all this still works in 2024 though especialy the login with facebook and phone updates removing GearVR support might be an unsolvable issue.
Did it work with redmi not 9s(6.6)
No only some Samsung flagship phones got support.
Can use this on note 20 ultra?
No, Galaxy S10 Series was the last to support GearVR. I would recommend going for a Quest 2 instead.
hi will this work with my galaxy A70 phone ?
No unfortenatly not only the older Galaxy S and Note phones are supportet which is a shame because the underling technology could run on most phones today. That's the problem with Software that is not open source. Google Cardboard works on all phones but the software is not as great and I can not recommend Cardboard.

I can tell you the dimensions that fit in my GearVR model Nr.SM-R323. Max size left to right border of you phone 7.7cm but in principle you can always make it bigger using some tools to remove the plastic.
Max size top to bottom 15cm.
No you can't connect the gear vr controller to non gearVR compatible phones. Someone hacked the controller but that wont help you in this situation, so dont bother with the gearvr controller.
Make sure your phone supports google daydream otherwise the apk will not work. When your phone is listed as daydream ready the daydream controller will work with it.. So idealy you get a daydream headset and a daydream controller for your phone but only if it supports daydream. Otherwise you are out of luck and only Cardboard apps will run on your phone which are really bad in my opinion.
@@VR_Wizard But I can play Daydream apk apps like The Arcslinger,it works on my phone even though it is not supported
@@mlbbshorts3548 That is very unusual. I installed a daydream apk just to check and I get the warning by the app that my phone is not Daydream-ready and the app won't start. I have an S9. I followed these steps, but it won't let me get any of the games in Oculus.
It should work on the S9. Is it an issue with the store?
I also have an issue with downloading games in the Oculus store, the issue is that I can purchase them but not install them. When clicking on an app in the store it only shows purchased but there is no way to install it. To install them I have to click on the magnifying glass in the top right corner and type in the name of the app I am interested in. Then I suddenly get the option to install.
I thought this is a bug unique to me since this bug is so bad it should have been fixed long ago but maybe Oculus doesn't care anymore since the quest 1 and 2 are selling well.

Since the 323 comes with a micro-usb connector you need an usb-c adapter or simply follow the steps in the video.
Noo this is not good couse the sensor of the glasses and everything will not work
You don’t need the sensor since the phones have high quality IMUs build in. I compared the performance with and without the headset plugged in and could not percive a difference, but I haven't measured it. Have you measured it to proof your claim? I can only speak of my experience.
Also check out the Google Daydream headset it only uses the phone sensor and works fine too.
How do get the gear vr app?
