- Persona 5 is a game about the internal and external conflicts of a group of troubled youth who live dual lives. They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a Tokyo high-schooler - attending class, after school activities and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people. Their power comes from the Persona, the Jungian concept of the “self;” the game’s heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective mask and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and use it to strive to help those in need. Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern-day society wears.

Prometheus it’s in my top 15 or 20 (and that ain’t nothing to scoff at because my top 15 contains both mario galaxys and odyssey, breath of the wild, smash bro’s, mario 64, ocarina of time, god of war ps4, sonic mania, SAN Andreas, Red Dead Redemption, as well as a few others that I can’t think of off the top of my head)

So, I really highly recommend this game. I haven't even played any other persona games. And bought it anyways. But the plot and story and character development is amazing. The jazz music is fantastic, just the overall soundtrack is gold 👏 I don't think I would play any of the other persona games. Since it's for older PlayStations and I only have PS3 and PS4. But worth the money and probably would've payed even more because of the amazing artwork and animations. Completed in 76 hours. 10000 percent recommend for anyone! Even non anime fans it's amazing.

Also FYI..you can say something is the greatest (film, movie, game) ever, and still have another favourite (film, movie, game) ever. The two doesn't go hand in hand. For example I can say: Persona 5 is objectively the greatest game... but my favourite is persona 4.
The thing thats so great about this game is I never want the story to end, the bond of these characters was so great to watch come together this game is a gem

They did make it pretty obvious, looking back on it.
Ever since the trailer came out (before the game came out) I was confused why Igor had a sinister voice, he's supposed to have a cocky old man voice, and he would never say he is the master of the velvet room, so I had suspicions, and it turns out he was the final boss
One of the greatest games I'm glad to have experienced from the amazing soundtracks to great characters im definitely gonna miss this game but now I'll move on to the rest of the personas since I haven't played them yet

Just started playing this game last weekend...I already have 40 hours on it. I was never a fan of turn based jrpgs. I could never finish the older final fantasies growing up but this game is insanely good an addicting

I was beginning high school when this game came out it was my very first Persona game, and I absolutely loved it one of my favorite games of all time now. Now Persona 3 Reload is about to be out it's crazy how fast time flies.

I wish I could go back in time and just feel how the hype for this game. I’m sad I only heard of the persona series like 2 years ago because I missed out on so much!
I bought the ps4 for Persona 5. I must say that the game is exactly what i wanted. I was waiting for a long time. Hoping that it will make an appearance on the pc but as of now it has not. Anyway now that i have the ps4 i can play other games that are for the ps4 only. Getting back on track Persona 5 is that game that i was looking for a long time. One that makes you choose small things and together make a bigger one, you choose to deepen a bound , in the evening you choose to go and buy weapons and then read a book to make your character exceed in passing thru the ranks of your "stats". The next day you choose to go in mementos and complete requests.And after some time you eventually finish a palace. And so on.even the "Distorted Desires" differ 1 of them is for a false art master the other is for a mafia boss and so on. i like the ideas that they went for i never expected an art master that would do such things.Compare to other games that i know and that i have played Persona 5 stands out for all the good reasons.It is a good Jrpg.I wish that we get persona 3 and 4 on the ps4. And i`d like to see those games on the pc too. But that's up to Atlus.

It's amazing how they manage to make it so beautiful on the ps3. This has the style of beautiful joe on gamecube, the story telling of naruto ultimate ninja 3 on ps2 and the gameplay mechanics of ni no kuni plus the dialogue options of the tales series. This game has it all. Just finished the first boss and I still can't wait to keep going

@@mrsaintscream Iv'e played many other Persona games and am really looking forward to the Royal and plan on reviewing it on my channel as soon as it comes out. I'm not sure if it will top the original but we will have to see. I think I will just view it as a different way to experience the story instead of the definitive version.

Yeah, this game is too good. I am playing this as my first Persona game, 7 years after it's launch, and I am in love.
This appears in my recommended just before Royal releases and I’m OK with it.
I recently finished Persona 5 Royal, just wow. Now i have experienced new palace and unlocked platinum trophy. Totally worth it because i enjoyed every single moment of it!

They are both RPGs though
You are right, but not all the JRPGs/RPGs are similar.
An example:
Fire Emblem, is a JRPG. Octopath Traveler is a JRPG too. But they are VERY differents from Persona.
So it's quite unusual to compare such different games.
There are some strong similarities, Both are JRPGs where you collect and train monsters to battle other monsters in turn based battles. Personas battles remind me of pokemons and is def better in my opinion

Shin Megami Tensei franchise is seriously a hidden gem, not just Persona. Yeah They are not well known because they're not marketed that well yet this whole franchise is consistently great & they just keep getting better, best JRPG franchise.

C_Cole 96 the combat definately just got better. Persona 3 used AI as party members, Persona 4 had direct commands. And Persona 5 added baton passes.
Was the first game I platinumed and I had the urge to play every persona that came before it. Persona 3 fes is golden, can't wait to see what P4G is about.

This is freakin' awsome game, which combines unique, but kinda perfect anime graphics style, addicting, again! so unique storyline, mix of dungeon crawler & dating simulator. It has funny moments like the superhuman student (yeah-yeah, the Trickster), which finally managing (in my ending) to make justice prevail is being forced to go to sleep by his own cat.
According to my bad English level, its not too hard to guess, how hard was this 160 hours-long walkthrough for me - 16 years old Russian student. It was really hard, half of the time I had to pause dialogs to translate unknown phraseologisms (yeah I know: phraseologisms at Russian, modal verbs at English), but I was so inspired by game plot, so cannot even think about it's too hard just for playing game. After 3 real months I finished this game and beaten the god of control. Finally I can say, that this game is not jusy so unique and perfect at the same time, but the best game I ever played. It will be better if this piece of art may be available from PC (PC port! please, release PC port! I wanna I wanna run useless walkthrough streams from my PC and dont wanna pay for capture card for PS3), and Russian translation. Even just text translation will be perfect..
