  • Brief update of winter projects on my 2004 C5 Corvette Z06 and my Formula Vee. A lot of progress has been made on the Z06, but I'm currently stuck waiting for the new clutch to arrive. The Formula Vee is getting close to being finished, big thing remaining is to install the rebuilt spindles and finish the nut and bolt checklist. Only 3 weeks remain to the first Formula Vee race at Carolina Motorsports Park. Unfortunately I'll probably miss the first autocross or two with the Z06 because of the backordered clutch.

That leak looks like it’s from the reverse inhibit solenoid cover on the top of the trans. They eventually leak and all you need is to clean it and apply RTV.

Curious why you didn't go with the Monster level 2 or 3 clutch? That's what I'm going with.

I searched through the forums and read all the owner reviews of each clutch I could find. The Mantic ER2 had very good reviews and no negative reviews, only one person had a failure they admitted was their fault. Monster had mixed reviews, some liked it and some didn’t. I think all the clutches out there are pretty good, the Mantic just seemed a step above the others. And it was only slightly more expensive than a LS7 clutch which I was also considering.
