  • I've been using a YGZ under-desk treadmill for the past several months to walk on while I work. Here's my experience with it so far as well as some tips for choosing and make the most of a walking pad while you work.
This is the treadmill I'm using: amzn.to/44ZTcIG (affiliate link)

When you're walking, your body receives a greater amount of oxygen, which increases your focus and allows you to concentrate much better. I use a treadmill while working, and I feel like I have greater focus when I'm walking. It's interesting that you mention you read better while walking-I'll definitely give it a try!

I would love to see a video of your full setup. I’m about to redo my home office. Thanks.

Q about noise: if you are in a meeting and unmute to answer any question, will attendees feel you are doing something else too? What is noise level?

The faster you're walking the louder it is. If you're just kind of casually strolling at a 1 or a 2, I don't think people would think anything of it-just normal background noise. But if you're walking fast, the noise of the machine and your steps is going to be a lot more noticeable. And if you're out of breath that a dead giveaway 🤣

Super helpful video! You mentioned the belt dimensions and height. How tall are you? I'm 6'2" and wanted to make sure the one I purchase feels wide and long enough...

Hey! I'm 6'0" and haven't had any issues with the length while walking. Haven't done much running on it, so couldn't speak to that.

How deep is your standing desk (front to back)? I have considered getting a treadmill but I worry that my standing desk is too shallow for me to stand close enough on the treadmill to be close enough to the keyboard.

My desk is 24" deep. But the treadmill only goes under about half of that. I'd say about 6" from the front of the desk to where the actual tread part of the treadmill starts (there's the screen and other stuff behind that, you have to account for of course, but that varies by model). I found that it doesn't have to go very far under the desk because when walking on a treadmill, your front foot doesn't extend very far with each new step because you are simultaneously being pulled backward at the same time-if that makes sense.

It's the Hendrickson's ESV Minister's Bible in calfskin. Unfortunately, they don't make them anymore :(
