Please be aware if you having problems install Magiclatern…. If your camera's current firmware is an incompatible version, here's how to fix this... www.userdrivers.com/Digital-Camera/Canon-EOS-Rebel-T1i-Digital-SLR-Camera-Firmware-Update-1-1-1-for-Windows-XP-Vista-7/download/ I was searching up and down trying to get this MagicLatern to install on to this damn T1i and it kept refusing the current firmware but beware you cannot install Magiclatern unless your current firmware is this exact version unfortunately.
Do you know of any way to use Magic Lantern on the t1i with the 1.1.2 firmware? They don't offer it directly and I'd prefer to not roll my firmware back to 1.1.1
I don't. On the ML site, it seems that their latest version is for firmware 1.1.1. I've never tried the rollback on the firmware, but it might be worth it.
First, it's good that your camera is still turning on! Second, I think that I'd pay a visit to www.magiclantern.fm/forum. Are you doing this with the T1i?
Without some other info, I cannot be sure and I'm certainly no expert on the ML firmware. However, sometimes the firmware locks up and creates some significant processing which will drain the battery quickly. You have to remove the battery which is a hard reset of the camera.
Samething happened to my camera... I tried to install and it said the firmwire for the camera is not the firmware but I double confirmed that it is the correct firmware and it just says it's the incorrect firmware and to remove the battery
Your camera's current firmware is an incompatible version, fix this first! www.userdrivers.com/Digital-Camera/Canon-EOS-Rebel-T1i-Digital-SLR-Camera-Firmware-Update-1-1-1-for-Windows-XP-Vista-7/download/ I was searching up and down trying to get this MagicLatern to install on to this damn T1i and it kept refusing the current firmware but beware you cannot install Magiclatern unless your current firmware is this exact version unfortunately.
+Jon Ernstberger thanks I managed to get my hands on a updated copy. The things I can do with my T1i now are great. I reconsidered upgrading to a Full Frame.
+Sealab8991 I haven't updated my version in a while but one of the downsides was I periodically experience freeze of the camera. When this happens, it's best to pop out of the battery.
Since these are two separate pieces of software, the Canon firmware and the Magic Lantern firmware, I'd speculate that their version numbering is unrelated. However, there's a great forum in which you can ask this question. www.magiclantern.fm/forum/. Thank you for asking!
Okay, so try this link: www.userdrivers.com/Digital-Camera/Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-II-Digital-SLR-Camera-Firmware-Update-1-2-4/download/. As I mentioned on another post, your mileage may vary. I don't know if it's a trustworthy link (or not).
Try www.userdrivers.com/Digital-Camera/Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-II-Digital-SLR-Camera-Firmware-Update-1-2-4/download/ (ymmv). I downloaded this but it's for Mac.
Mac is what I needed (although I don't know if it really matters since it's the same file for both platforms read by the camera. I'll give it a try and post back. Thanks!
does that mean i need to set aside an SD card for every time i need to use magic lantern? or is it permanently on my camera after installation? thanks :) x
That's a good question. When you start the camera, it boots to the default firmware. You can choose to never use ML. So, you can keep using the same SD card for either usage (with or without ML firmware).
It definitely isn't flawless. If I loan the camera to someone else, I definitely don't loan them the card with the FW. It's kind of like rooting your phone and installing a custom ROM. If you're savvy enough to do that, then you're savvy enough to remedy the problems. But, it's not for novices.
How to settings Magic Lantern remove the 30min video recording limit on Canon 500D?
Thank u so much GJ
Thanks for watching!

my canon is 1.1.2 and the Magic Lantern sed " Make sure you are running Canon firmware 1.1.1 " is there problem if i install or not ?
I'm seeing some other commentary that perhaps it won't even work. Let me know how it goes!
With this installed it is possible to record in FULLHD with more than 20 FPS?
That's a great question. I don't have ML installed on that camera, currently, to test.
No.
i did all the steps but when i turn on the camera nothing happens its just normal

Are you doing this with the T1i?
thanks you so much!!!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Are you running ML?
yes I'm running now the ML only in my T1i, I have the 70D, but for now only use it in T1i.
Do you have any stability issues?
not for now, i'm only using it 2 days,
I can not install, and after I try it describes remove the battery. What do I do then?
Without some other info, I cannot be sure and I'm certainly no expert on the ML firmware. However, sometimes the firmware locks up and creates some significant processing which will drain the battery quickly. You have to remove the battery which is a hard reset of the camera.
Thanks for the question, btw!
Levente, you will need to format the SD card on the camera itself and then copy the ML files over to the root directory of the SD card.

Any issues running Canon's 1.1.2 firmware?
Haven't tried. But, the latest ML firmware seems to align with 1.1.1.
i have 1.1.2 firmware on my canon 500d . but magic lantern is 1.1.1 . it's ok to do it? (sorry for bad english)

Anyone know where I can find 1.1.1 firmware? ML won't install on 1.1.2
I'm out searching for it. Sorry for the bad advice earlier. :(

I see it in the URL.

Try this one.
Canon kissX3 ver1. 1.2 can install?
I can't say.
how to uninstall it?
I think deleting it from the card is enough.
does that mean i need to set aside an SD card for every time i need to use magic lantern?
or is it permanently on my camera after installation?
thanks :) x

ML on T1i is not worth it. It hangs way too much.
It definitely isn't flawless. If I loan the camera to someone else, I definitely don't loan them the card with the FW.
