Infuriatingly, she might not see the justice she deserves for this ordeal. It's not fair or right, it's a scam, and it happens all the time. I hope this story gets attention and gets the victim the support she may need to secure good representation and a hasty, positive resolution in her favor...And i hope there will be criminal charges for the lowlifes who did such damage to her life and her property.
I know their type because this happened to me, too. But I never signed anything authorizing what they did. They harassed me blatantly, threatened to destroy my reputation, slander my name and title, and steal my house. And they did! All my belongings are gone! I'd have to be out of my mind to sign up for any of that!
So I reckon they tricked her into thinking she had signed a document she had not actually signed... Maybe she thought she was signing for a package from a delivery guy? That's how I suspect they stole my signature. Never did get those shoes I ordered, that guy took off quick!...and everything spiraled afterwards...
After a protracted legal fight for 2 years, I lost and was evicted from my paid off house. Now I'm homeless. I Wish I had words of wisdom, tips to help others from befalling the same fate. But I don't. As of now, I'm just a victim of a catastrophic property crime.
But I'm not giving up. Texas homesteads are forever!
Good news time: incapacity voids contracts. Illegality voids contracts. Drastically unfair and one sided terms will void a contract. All voidable scenarios apply in her case, likely.
Any judge who reviews it would be obliged to strike void contracts upon hearing her arguments, including liens, and deeds, and remove the entire lot from county records!
....someone please reach out to let her know!?
These terrorists shouldn't have tampered with her property! Don't they know better? Any changes made are improvements she gets to keep...
It's kinda a terrible wish, but I hope they did a good job on the work done and she loves how they changed it... I would not trust them to fix it back to how it was!

She’s had her home since 1977, so i can only imagine how old & outdated it actually is an how much it would cost to really fix it up to par. The new owner has clearly gutted the place and freshly putting it back together but taking their time. HPD says the case could take about a year… which i think is about how long the complete renovations on her home will take including re-landscaping her property. WATCH her get her home back w/ everything renovated & brand new. The devil is always workin but god is always workin harder!

Seems to me senior homeowners should get a reverse mortgage and put the funds in an account with auto draft to continuallymake payments. That way they never have full ownership of their home which apparently makes it easy for scammers.
Crazy that squatters can live in a stolen home for years but legal residents have no recourse for scammers.
