this video I will show how I make a viking age glue stick.
A simple form of glue based on pine resin mixed with charcoal and organic fibres.
This glue works great both as an adhesive but also as a black filler on bone or antler carvings. In the video you see me making one gluestick. But the fact is I made several that day by the shore. I experimented with different ammounts in the recipe and also tried adding beeswax to the glue. This makes it even more flexible but its not what I needed for the upcoming project.
I was very fortunate to get to see 3 of the wolf pups from this years litter. They were very aware of my presence but for a few minutes they seemed to accept me before they dissapeared into the bushes. Distance 150 meters.
I hope you enjoy the video. As always feel free to ask questions in the comments below and I will happily answer them.

Thank you Ramuni for sharing another beautiful Viking video, educational, and a pleasure to watch in the beautiful nature where you live. And what an experience that you were able to meet those 3 wolves. Beautiful film work and music again, so much better than many other channels, I don't understand why you don't have many more subscribers, you are the best. I think it's because you don't go commercial on your channel, which I really like, stick to yourself. I have already watched all your videos 3 times and I enjoy them so much. 🙏

Thank you so much Rein. Im really happy that you see it this way and to hear you appreciate the videos and my work. And it is sometimes frustrating that growing the RUclips audience is Such a slow proces and its tempting to advertise more, sell out and let the creative process be oriented into views, clickbates and Cliffhangers. But in the meantime i really like making Viking projects and editing Film work and I am blessed with really faithfull and kind viewers like yourself Who genuinely appreciate what i do. And that makes it totally worth it. So thank you. Although I would not mind hundred of thousands of viewers and the possibillity of making a Living from this:) not lying:) All the best my friend.

@@RAMUNI-Viking It may be a slow process, you may want things to move faster, but you will definitely get your desired followers, but please be/stay with yourself. In the long run, it will pay you back double. Once you have lost your self, you will get it never back, no success justifies this, stay authentic, it will reward you in return, but of course you do what you want, after all it is your choice, I am not there to teach you, it is just a well-intentioned idea, my opinion.
I wish you everything you want, you deserve it !!!

Hello Gabrielle. Great to hear from you. Pine resin is addictive:) luckily the Wolves have come back to Denmark since the last 12 years. And they Are doing good. So the population is slowly growing. But still its very rare to see them. Even though i spend a lot of time and energy in being in the right place at the right time. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. All the best

Great video, interesting and educational! I’m off to go and stab an innocent pine tree and come back to check on it a few weeks later😂 I’m joking but at least now I know how to get the resin! Those wolves at the end were beautiful-seeing the enchantment of Mother Nature’s children at work with that music playing almost made my eyes well up🙌🏻

Wow, I loved seeing the wolves! I'm still always a little spellbound just seeing the deer and the boars you so often encounter, but the wolves must be a rare treat!
Thank you for sharing the glue recipe. There are pine trees in the forest next to my house, I think I will go resin-hunting this weekend! 😄
I'm very much looking forward to seeing the knife you're going to use the glue on. How is your blacksmithing going? Are you planning on forging the blade yourself?
Beautiful work as always my friend! 😃

Im happy that you liked seeing the wolfes. I have some more good footage for the next video for you. Blacksmithing had been paused. I fixed up the bellows but never got to se up the simple forge the second time yet. I think a knifeblade is a long short for now. Hoping to make nails and simple hinges for a wooden chest or maybe forge a spoon auger bit. Thanks alot for your comment and for staying in touch my friend. Stay safe.

Thats great to hear. Best of luck with your own glue. I didnt make the pot. The clay pot was bought from a great potter specialised on Hedeby stuff and the metal one is some old reenactment Thing i bought second hand. Not specificly Viking. But its Nice to have something for these messy and non food projects. Good luck with your pottery also. I want to give it a try at some point too
