    After moving out here to the Rochester area 6 yrs ago from Sacramento CA I was worried. I grew up fishing the Delta, Folsom, Clear Lake, Bullards Bar, Comanche, New Melones and Berryesa my whole life where BASS is KING. I was worried I wouldn't find any good bass fishing this far north. I was worried it was all Trout or Pike fishing here....That's when I stumbled across your channel and thank god! I now fish Cayuga, Seneca and Keuka Lakes thanks to you! I even would stop the videos to see when you would launch from....LOL. There are definitely good bass in NY! Thank you again for the introduction. Also, love seeing the old locations in CA...

    How do you feel about the kayak tourney scoring system? Maybe im a bit old school but i prefer the boat tourney scoring system where they weigh the fish rather than measure its length. Really gives you a good idea of the sheer mass of a big fish.

    • @GregBlanchardFishing
      @GregBlanchardFishing  Год назад +2

      I think in a perfect world it would all go by weight but obviously super tough to do in kayak tournaments. The best part about Catch-photo-release imo is releasing the fish right then and there. I think it'll keep the fisheries healthy as its way less stress to the fish.

    • @clutch3shot
      @clutch3shot Год назад

      @@GregBlanchardFishing in a perfect world everyone would use the same scale and a picture of the fish being weighed would suffice but it seems there are too many variables for that too work right now. Hopefully technology will present a new way to measure fish in the future

We have some beds on a flat right behind our cottage and no activity yet. Some have moved in no doubt to pre spawn feed. It’s definitely been a colder spring compared to the last few. Try fishing some ledges. Where I’ve had my best luck so far

    Funny, seems from all the videos I've watched and some personal experience, when the fish are committing, but being timid about a bait that a color change can turn them on. It's like the bait has a lot of the traits they want but the color just isn't quite right. I suppose the presentation could have the same affect.
