The nf Himalayan jkt must have changed, the one available now is a town jacket aimed at young people, it is classed as a lifestyle jkt

Maybe the camera over-enhances the sound but that is one crinkly jacket.

About not breathing, none of these expedition parkas breathe well. Remove the jacket while moving if you start to sweat, put it on when you stop.
I have owned MH Absolute zero ( 2 versions) TNF Himalaya parka, Eddie Bauer peak XV, Rab batura, Rab Expedition, Marmot 8000m parka. None breath well if you start to sweat.

How did the RAB Batura compare to the other jackets? And which did you like best?

@@cwschangThe batura is a notch below the others except the Peak XV in terms of insulation. But its built well and looks good enough to wear around town.
My favorite was the TNF himalayan parka windstopper version. Very warm, and looked good.
But for surviving in -40 in the middle of nowhere, anyone of the Rab Expedition, Absolute Zero or Marmot 8000m parka would be my top pick. All of them are extremly Lofty/bulky and packs 550-600g of down. The Rab Expedition (not the new 8000 expedition)has a bit less down but got 2 overlapping layers of down making it extremly warm, the loft is insane at 9 inches if you lay it down on the floor.
