Super-Sized 3D Printed Barbie Knee Pads
Using an STL from Thingiverse meant for Barbie-sized knee pads, I resized the file, played with the infill and got it just right to fit my Fjallraven trousers designed to hold knee pads. After 2 years they're still going strong!
The STL is no longer available, however, there are many different free files online, take your pick!

Working on My Polaris RMK 550
Просмотров 23814 дней назад
I bought a 2010 Polaris RMK 550 last year and slowly fixed it up over the summer. These are a few tips I learned along the way. This video touches on: - Replacing the starter, hyfax, speedometer cable and square key, as well as specing a few things like track tension, chain tension and the correct settings for the oil sending unit. These are the parts I bought which were all available on Amazon...
Rab Batura 800FP Men’s Down Jacket - Arctic Tested (NOT an Expedition Jacket)
Просмотров 29514 дней назад
These are my impressions of the Rab Batura after spending multiple days wearing it in frigid Arctic temperatures and high winds. (-50C /-59F windchill) Something I didn't mention in the video: this jacket does NOT breathe. So after 30 minutes of walking I am soaked and in the frigid cold, that is a serious issue. This jacket would be best suited for a low exertion activity. As advertised on Rab...

my favorite part of this video is the short pause at "PLA Sparkle" when you're explaining the need for the proper material.

Amazing, have you developed the plans yourself? It looks like skin on frame construction or like a stitch and glue version. Which printer did you use? What filament did you use for the print and what type of glue did you apply?

About not breathing, none of these expedition parkas breathe well. Remove the jacket while moving if you start to sweat, put it on when you stop. I have owned MH Absolute zero ( 2 versions) TNF Himalaya parka, Eddie Bauer peak XV, Rab batura, Rab Expedition, Marmot 8000m parka. None breath well if you start to sweat.

Type of plastic? ABS? It doesn’t look like Nylon. How long you use it and how it going now?

Hey, this was printed with ASA. The part lasted me 4 months till it finally failed in a crease. I was impressed how long it lasted considering the extreme temperature swings (-30 to 70C). I replaced it with the actual OEM part. If I need to print another part I will try something different and more durable like: Bambulab's PPA-CF.

@ Thank you for answering. Indeed, four months in cooling system for ASA is impressive. I did tested 100% inifill nylon on 100-120 Celsius and it’s good, solid. But polypropylene with fibres more common in automotive.

What’s the heat rating on that plastic?… if it can survive the temperatures it’s going to face then 3d printing can’t save a lot of trouble with finding the right parts

ASA will do find in most automotive applications -even under the hood-. i would't rely on it completely to contain hot fluids the way I did.
