    Roma immigrants to the area are doing this and the long established Pakistani community are not happy and are having to put up with it. There is a lot of tension in the area and it's nothing to do with whites.

    I grew up there in the 50's and 60's. A wonderful civilised place. With a civic pride - the world famous 'City of Steel'.
    A child could go in to the Town Hall on a Saturday morning [because everyone was working in the week] and request a free a very high quality paper print of the coat of arms to cherish. It had a tissue overlay to preserve it. I still have mine. Alas in 2022 it would seem the City has not fared so well.
    Sad to see the state of it, what the hell has happend ? [Excuse spellings]

      I don’t think Page Hall is necessarily the worst place in Sheffield, let alone England. It’s pretty bad at Hemsworth, Gleadless Valley. I used to have to deliver to the flats at the shopping centre there, and it was appalling. I always expected to find a body in the stairwells.

    Its a video showing litter on the floor and empty bins. Let's digest. The litter is ingrained from weeks months years. The only cleaning that happens are the bins are emptied. This goes for a lot of areas, particularly poorer working class areas, just the bins are emptied, nothing else. The resources are directed to more affluent influential areas and the rest ignored. The posh areas are looked after and the rest forgotten. Let's take an example, I'll walk anyone around the Wybourn, down Cricket Inn Rd onto Broad Street and show them litter that must have accumulated over decades in bushes and roadside shrubbery. All it needs is a good litter pick, a mini sweeper on the path and a road sweeper on the road. A week before you do it, you put no parking notices up so the sweeper does a total clean 👍

    • @snm_nendra
      @snm_nendra  Год назад +4

      The city council cleaners work very hard here, even twice a day. I had spoken to them. Unfortunately, the people in the neighbourhoods do not respect these cleaners.

    • @richardburns5925
      @richardburns5925 Год назад +5

      @@snm_nendra nonsense. I repeat, the litter is ingrained old litter. The council never litter pick on foot or send a road sweeper through poor areas. They might see a road sweeper once a year. Endcliff park is vacuumed clean every day, in summer all the posh kids leave litter and spent barbeques like you've never seen, you can't see any grass any where for rubbish. Its cleaned up daily by a team of cleaners because it's S11. If you want I'll take you, let me see, to Hartley Brook, Parsons Cross then we'll go round the Wybourn, down Cricket Inn rd onto Broad Street then I'll take you to Queens Rd, the back rd where Evans cycles rear entrance is. In fact I can take you all over Sheffield and show you old litter and unswept gutters everywhere. How can I tell it's old litter? Its faded and we will pick some up and look at the best before date 👍

      @@JimmyMars666 I'm just glad I moved away. It was bad 20 years ago, I remember a young lass got gang raреd in the late 90s down near where Dahiwal supermarket was (I think it's called Hamza now) and the little goвsнite drug dealers made people's lives a misery. There was rubbish everywhere and the local imam said he was ashamed of some of the young people in the community because they were completely out of control. People were from all over: Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan. Of course there were plenty of decent people in the neighborhood but it wasn't what I'd call a safe place to live either. There was this creepy Pakistani man lived along Firth Park Road near Addison and he'd always be trying to kiss the young girls. He was known locally as "Gimme a kiss" or "wanna sweet", because he'd start out by asking girls if they wanted a sweet and progress to trying to grab them and saying "gimme a kiss"! Well at least he was brazen about it and hopefully didn't rаре anyone...

      I worry for the kids too, house prices and rent are unaffordable, you could rent a whole 3 bedroom terrace down Page Hall Road for £30 a week, buy the same for £20,000 20 years ago...

      If the bin is full.......take your litter home! If the bins full and overflowing, why throw your rubbish on the floor? It looks shocking. Its not just this area either, walk around the Wybourn, then walk down Cricket Inn Rd onto Broad Street. Ingrained litter. Sheffield is a shit tip. Resources are not evenly distributed, there is council litter pickers that sit mob handed playing on phones in a redundant bus shelter on Leopold St with nothing to do in the middle of the day. I see many areas and think it just needs a road sweeper driving through here, brushes angled into the gutter and a mini sweeper on the path. Their excuse is they can't sweep because of parked cars but when they wanted to chop trees down or surface a road, they soon put signs up saying no parking and notices threatening removal on car windscreens.

      @Xio Xia yes, used to live there, go there a lot, worked all round there for Sheffield City council since the 90s, friends still live there, Horninglow rd, Firth Park Crescent, Kirton Rd etc, I'm a big Wednesday fan, know all that side of town inside out, I used to fish in Crabtree pond!

    "The Tories"?

      Out of the 6 MPs representing Sheffield, 5 of them are Labour. Out of the 84 councillors 39 are Labour and 1 is conservative.
      The Labour party has done this to Sheffield.

    Someone should organise litter pick-ups once a month, get the local schools involved then maybe the next generation will have some pride in their town/ neighbourhood….🫤

      It’s critical to get children involved so they can grow with more respect for the environment and their communities. When I was young we went on school litter programs and had educational lectures in the schools about the environment. What do people expect when people are learning how to take care of their iPads more than their environments
