  • First National Bank of Duncanville is happy to announce that women may now apply for a checking account in their own names. And anyone who opens a new account with us this month will receive a lovely gift. Please stop by my desk today!
    This video features lots of paperwork crinkles and shuffling, writing sounds, some rubber stamping, and very gentle, soft-spoken customer service throughout.
    Thank you for joining me!

    1. I ADORE the concept + execution of this channel.
    2. I’ve been hearing a lot of talk on social media recently from women my age about how our grandmothers didn’t have the ability to open a bank account without a husband or father and I was never taught that in history class(a shame in my opinion). This video can help people relate to what that time was like.
    3. Thanks for the video your work is appreciated!

      so true , i started work in Australia in 1974 , those days women had to give up their jobs if they got married , could not take out a mortgage for a house or business without their husband or fathers signature , couldnt obtain a passport for the same reason etc things have changed a lot thank goodness

      What a wonderful comment, Soulfoodsmama. You absolutely made my day. ☺️ I used to be a literature and women’s studies professor, so my channel lets me play around with some of the things I used to teach. Really appreciate your feedback. Means a lot. 💚💚

      Kim, it really is amazing isn’t it. I remember many of the things my mother went through. I didn’t get my first job until the late 70s, but even then, the sexual harassment was horrendous-and no one raised an eyebrow.

    Another relaxing video, as always! Random note, but your hands remind me of my mother's. She is a pianist and I've always thought she has the most graceful hands in the world. I think that's why your videos relax me so much, in part. Thank you for all the comfort you bring.

      What a wonderful comment, Shii. I actually played piano for years-started lessons when I was 8-but haven’t played in quite a while. I’m glad my hands remind me of your mother’s. 🌷

    I have been having so much fun going through your videos. Each one is a different scene without being so overly produced that it feels fake and unrelaxing for me. These videos literally just feel like you're having an UBER relaxing interaction while out and about. I appreciate how much you put into this, it's really incredible. Probably most underrated ASMRtist, and I've been watching asmr vids since like 2010!

    Just came across this and I must say, as a woman who works in banking i am so glad that my biggest and strongest relationships are with women and women entrepreneurs. We’ve got a long way to go as far as the treatment and equality for women, but it feels great to see and help women succeed! Also, I am so thankful account opening processes are done on computers now!

      Hi Tiffani! You work in banking today? How cool! I worked as a teller in the early 80s. Even then it was rather interesting. In the main lobby, all the female tellers had to wear dresses and high heels and stand up all day. Of course my feet were younger then; I absolutely could not do that today. My favorite part of being a teller? Counting the money.💵💵 Loved flipping it through my hands so fast. 😂

    Love your videos. Would you consider doing a fabric store employee measuring, cutting and folding fabrics, ribbon etc?

    • @MidModMeridianASMR
      @MidModMeridianASMR  Год назад +2

      Absolutely!! This is already on my list and I’m actively sourcing props. Funny thing-I used to work in a Jo Ann’s Fabrics when I was in high school in the late 70s. I looooved the sound of cutting fabric on the counter. Anyway, definitely coming soon, Brooke. 💚

    Continues to be one of my favorites of yours. Such good sounds and conversation. I wonder if it really was customary to ask how many children a woman had, their ages, and IF SHE PLANNED ON MORE! 😱 so intrusive! Doesn’t seem like pertinent info 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @MidModMeridianASMR
      @MidModMeridianASMR  8 месяцев назад

      Yup. Unbelievable. And what’s more unbelievable? The question about whether she planned on having more children wasn’t outlawed until 1974 (with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act). And the questions about number of children and their ages . . . STILL LEGAL.
