      Thanks. It was a good day out and, unlike most things I planned to film this year, the rain added to it!

    Seeing the Ford 6600 brought back some memories! We had those and 7600's on the farm when I was a teenager in the early 80's

      My grandad had a 4000, which i learned to drive on, a 6600 which I learned to subsoil on and a 7700 dual power for ploughing 😍

      @Steeps1969 8 месяцев назад

      @@davebroster8930 We got the dual power ones eventually. I learned on the 6600. We had a Roadless with 4 full size wheels - no idea the model now. My Mum drove, when she worked on the farm, a Belarus from the 70's! "My" tractor was a Universal 55. No heater, basic cab. Happy days!

    The water splash brought a smile to my face.
    The first road run I ever did was a millennium run in a TVO Fergie my dad had.
    I hooked a car trailer on behind & mounted a seat in it for my 7yr old son to sit on. We forded a river on the run & halfway across I looked vs k to see him standing up on the seat. The water had half filled the trailer. He’s 30 now & we still laugh about it. 😆

    Would have to be the Massey Ferguson 3095, great tractor to drive, to work, to repair but mainly it’s red with a shed attached 😝
    Great video again and well done to organisers, not an easy task!!!

    Great video 👍 really nice to see mostly vintage or Classic tractors taking part, as no sign of my favourite B series International tractors there my choice would be the MF 590 4WD 💪have heard from a few people up here 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 that they took their vintage tractors on a road run but gave up because all the guys on new 50k tractors just disappeared in the distance on a clear road 😕 I understand that these new tractors raise lots of money for charity but in my humble opinion a vintage tractor road run should be just that Vintage 👌

    • @calumanderson5617
      @calumanderson5617 8 месяцев назад +1

      Agreed there Bob👍, even when I'm driving the oldest one on a farm a John Deere 2030 with the sheep hurdle race I've had my fare share of misses, but in my case is driving my International 956 on the busiest road, the near misses I've had, trucks, tractors (50/60k), but what gets me really p!$$ed off is boy racers, FFS !! some of their over take Stunts!!! That's why I drive slower tractors at dawn to avoid them.🙄

    • @Casterton-Vintage
      @Casterton-Vintage  8 месяцев назад +2

      I see the problem and I prefer the vintage. Hopefully we can get young guys to see the light 😊

    • @bobpaterson1845
      @bobpaterson1845 8 месяцев назад +1

      I'm not saying ban them because they do raise a lot of money for charity but get a crowd of young farmers out with 50k tractors and many of them seem to leave their brain at home 😞 and if not careful then could possibly put the future of road runs in jeopardy unfortunately 🤔

    Great video. That’s one way to wash the tractor. I kinda like the smaller tractors more so. I didn’t see a TEA20 Ferguson or a Ford 8N in the line up, I don’t think.
    Have a great day.
