Because these trucks are so versatile, I can imagine loads of people have different approaches to make them work well. Let me know what your Katanas setup is :)
*3:22 - At the limit, they don't feel as aggressive, but also feel a bit harder to kickout. They don't want to slide all that much. But they will scrub.
*3:38 - And they def aren't as directional in the slide, but you CAN get used to it and adjust your riding with time ... but yes also depends on how you have them setup.
*4:00 - They do have feedback, BUT they don't bump you around as much over road imperfections as sllaom dh trucks do with their super stiff rear.
Should have written a script. My words weren't as accurate as I'd have liked them to be.
Document of some Ronin setups I tried and ended up enjoy quite a bit -
    docs.google.com/document/d/1rU9dleNNoLQjhkku44PpU8QLalH_tFftfGEVMTGk51s/edit#
DIdn't end up including any of the ones I DIDN'T like much so ... yeah

There's also a lot of stuff I missed that may or may not affect you when you setup the trucks.
      1. Sometimes the support pin doesn't go into the support pin cup. This usually happens if you run the boardside washer. Happens with the thin washer too. I solved it by cutting a thin slice of an old support pin bushings and sticking it in the support pin hole. Now it sits ok.
      2. Flipping the roadside washer in the front truck might give you the front biased turning you need in some setups.
      3. Sometimes the Hpf bsuhign would sit so tight on the kingpin. I'd wax it before hand for easier removal.
      4. Ill add more as it comes to mind.

Definitely a good call with waxing the bushings. I’m always getting mine stuck on the kingpin especially on the back truck 🙌🏻

Back when Riot bushings existed those were hands down the best fit for Ronins in terms of response. The old Abec 11 Relfex bushings were also great for them. Ronins really feel like they extract a unique feel from bushings so they often demand some deviation from usual setup habits.

Very nice review Abuga, super tech infos about the Ronins... By the way I had ridden a lot with 50 plate ( 45 + 5 Raisers ) and never had some issues, feels different, but 45 is still better for me.

🤙🏼 *Colour really pops in this video* 🤙🏼
    Great review, great edit.
Sometimes people don't put in the time to get trucks set up right for themself before givin up and choosin other trucks. Really good to experiment.
    Appreciate the detailed info/explanations!

I like the fruit punch best, I haven’t tried a lemonade mainly because I’m 225 lbs but I’d like to try them because softer bushings just work better with ronins unless you’re pushing it over 50 mph. But even for faster, roads I would use a fruit punch and a lime.

I’ve been testing out the seismic bushing and really like them. Might be worth a try. The compression feels smoother and has a good amount of rebound.

Tried them and they felt the same as all the other bushings I’ve tried. I have no idea how tf people like these trucks so much. Not for me

You can further change the feel of those trucks by flipping the ronin bushings. If you put the flat side towards the hanger you’ll have a more defined center and a bit more rebound. I used them like that on the rear but kept the rounded side towards the hanger in the front for more flowy turning

I tried tonnes of bushings too...on my casts....and all now have the Ronin fruit punch that they came with and I really love them. I just wish their bushings and their trucks were easier to get hold of....but I have spoken with the guys there and they are coming back to strength after loosing Fred. We love ya Fred!!!

i used ronin katana 154-144 mm adjustable hanger 45° baseplate front with a of 90a HPF tall barrel venom and 25° baseplate rear with a pair of 97a HPF tall barrel venom, at rear trucks im using a cap washer for more stability and the front trucks im using sleeve flat washer to steer easily. ronin works best for me in terms of racing and freeride it gives me the stability i want at the same time the quick dive response in turns i can actually do a tuck turn.

Have you tried the krank formula bushings from riptide? I’m running Valkyries and kranks, they the best feeling bushing for valks and that high rebound prolly works well in ronins

I bought cast ronins for 90 bucks back in the day and I'm still so sad that board got stolen. The deck was a landyatchts switchblade with some cloudrides

Yoo been on ronins for a long ass time. They're so.. tasty.
But I do prefer my ronins with flat washers roadside. It'll just lean for days. I tend to ride 88a bs 90a rs with 40* on both sides.
