Same, I'd play BF3 on and off when I got bored of Cod. Even though the console version was limited compared to PC at the time, man it was still insanely fun.

BF3 is easily the best BF game imo. I re installed the other day, the only active servers were EU though, which for me being in OCE is 370 ping, but still had a blast regardless. I also tried playing on Xbox a few weeks ago, there were 2 NA servers so it is still active, but 30fps nowadays is unplayable imo. Hope the next BF takes a lot of inspo from BF3, DICE need a good comeback.

The problem with these unlock systems is that they punish those without a lot of time to play (and those that take longer to unlock because they're not good at the game). Grinding weapons can be a nice change of pace when you play a lot, but having to grind when you only have an hour here or there can really dampen the experience, especially when some of the unlocks are considerably better than defaults.
When I was younger I may have agreed with you, but these days I see it pretty much as with micro transactions: Anything beyond cosmetics in a competitive-ish multiplayer game has to be accessible to everyone.

Very good point tbh. There should be a middle ground in this so people who play a lot have something to play for.

@@Maxiq I think having actually cool and distinct cosmetics to unlock could work. The cooler the skin, the harder the challenge.
One advantage of making it cosmetics only would be that you could make harder challenges than usual. It'd be a bit of a flex if you had the "100 kills in one life" hat or whatever.
But I guess that's in conflict with micro transactions.

Im ok with the suppression and glare. I also think lack of visibility is ok because it adds some realism, in a real ware-zone you wouldn't see anyone until its too late.

The graphic look and style, the voice lines, the gunplay... BF at it's prime. Single player was fun as well. I'm downloading this again. Thanks for grinding mnk for us ❤
