I told my wife it took me longer to get the cap than it did to change the hose. I felt all your pain. I finally pushed down with enough pressure to lock it. Same cap you had. Thanks for the vid!
The cap was ridiculously irritating! 😂😂
Great video! Thank you for doing this, REALLY! It’s much appreciated and I love the way you put the needed parts in the description. Absolutely perfect!!!
Thank you gentlemen, had to do this job under a tree just a few miles from my garage. This was an easy way in and out.
my daughter is in the hospital and my pump went out in parking lot. bearings are grinding and metal dust every where. thank you for video. gonna get mine changed asasp.
Glad this helped! Hope your daughter is alright!
@@CaswellCustoms she is recovering thank you
Best upload to this procedure ever! Thanks 🤜🤛🦅🇺🇸
What was the torque specs for the 13mm bolts?
Well, you failed to mention to bleed air out of the Hydro boost also. Recently changed out my steering box and found that out as I was bleeding the system so do what you said the pressure off from one end to the other and then step on the brakes so that the Hydro boost can bleed itself also.
Hey I'm doing my power steering pump for the second time now the first replacement didn't go well and it's been practically without power steering since, can you run me through the bleeding process just so it goes smoothly this go around
Can’t find a video where they show how to drain these assholes don’t bother showing us
Good afternoon! Just a quick question to see if you guys flushed the lines and cooler? If so any info on how to do that? Thanks for the great video!
Should have used a ZF style pump like in the new trucks.. oreillys has it, it’s a cardone select brand. Got it on my 06 and you never want to hit a press fit on like that. There is a tool for pressing the pulley back on. The original pumps are junk.
Do you have more info (part number or anything) for this pump? Thanks
I know this may be a long shot, but do you remember where you got the ditch light mounts?
Brent got them off of Amazon but they aren’t available anymore
Better to install a power steering pump from a 2013+ Ram. I used a 2012 high pressure line from pump to hydro boost for factory fit and finish. The remote reservoir that the 2013 pump uses fits beside the wash fluid. The 2013 pump has more flow and higher pressure to properly operate the upgraded 6 bolt steering gear
What size wrench is used to takeoff the high-pressure hose on the bottom of the power steering pump
Thank you, I'm not crazy! That stupid cap doesn't go on!
Can you just pull the reservoir and change the bad oring causing the leak?
I don't know, possibly.
Yes, if that's were your leak is coming from.
@@scottcpan68 you have to pull the whole pump. The pully gets in the way and you can't get out the bolts holding the reservoir to the pump.
@@Mantis858585I’d have to disagree with you. I have done mine 3 times. Last time (3rd time I pulled the reservoir off) I replaced the o-ring and rtv siliconed it on. No more leaky leaky.
un believable. You probably just ruined the new pump, while you had the correct tool to install the pulley the correct way, and used a hammer instead??
Informative, especially the removal. However, you used the puller in the wrong order. And missed a step. The stud you used in the removal isn't actually used until you are reinstalling the old pulley on the new shaft. Tapping the pulley on is not recommended. I have done many of these over the past 30 years, so I know how easily pumps are damaged by a install done with one or two steps missed. Thankfully nothing was damaged in your case, so all good!
So... how do you get the stud out? We kinda followed this guy's instructions, now we are stuck
How long would it take a guy do do by himself?
have replaced the Mopar PS pump about 6-7 times over the last 5 years. A shop replaced steering box twice. I replaced hydro boost throughout process. I just replaced pump with new FZ pump for newer dodges with new pulley. Haven’t went 500 miles an after it warms up. It starts to wine like PS pump is going out. Any suggestions?!….I’m wondering if master cylinder is bad if it could cause this. Dodge, and 2 local shops have not helped in 5 yrs. 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L. Original owner, so not sure what else could be causing PS failure. Thank
you
What was the problem?
Do you by chance remember the torque spec for the line on the bottom of the pump?
We don’t remember.
What is the part number to the pump
52106842AE, 52106842AG, 52113925AB, 52113925AE, 52113925AI, 68034330AB, 720-01125, 96-70268, 20-70268, 720-01125
The part we have linked in the description that is out of stock is #OS04007
What head lights are those?
amzn.to/42nSrbg
whats the music clip ?
Uses the installer to remove the pulley and then hammers the pulley back on🤦🏻♂️
My truck has 315k 😬😬
Remember the real reason for this video: Get a Chevy next time
So go from pump to ball joints, and ac conditioner replacement. They all have their problems
@@sxykia problems aside, doge turning radius is horrendous compared to chevy. All of them apparently.
@pr0xytv942 Agreed! My GMC turns on a dime, my ram needs the countryside
