Got this as a first printer a few months ago and it has been a good time. I’ve made some useful things and haven’t had to be a hobbyist. It was cheap too. Took me no time to get going with TinkerCAD and print a custom display stand for a plate my great uncle acquired in Egypt when he was stationed there in WWII.
holy crow i never saw that little button in the back, I was spending hours trying to get my printer working but it wouldnt turn on, but i watched this video and managed to get the printer working, thanks a ton!
1st thing i did with my ender was find a spool roller to replace the static tube on the default spool holder, then i found the right print in place bearings for the model of roller and i printed/reprinted the bearings as torture test models until i got my ender dialed in well enough that printing the extreme tolerance bearings actually worked [with only a little coaxing to get the actual bearings moving] then i printed a new lo-profile roller to fit spools with smaller interior openings and its been working like a charm ever since
Very cool! I did something similar in one of my other videos but I don't think what I did there will work on this printer because of the placement of the spool holder. Is your spool still on top of the printer or to the side isolated from the printer itself?
@@cktechcheckwhile i was dialing the print part in i moved the spool to the side for ease of troubleshooting but when finished i put it right back to the top
PIcked up the SE, ordered a PEI plate, now I've not been able to get a single print done due to adhesion issues. Any thoughts? I've reset the machine, cleaned the plate and used alcohol to clean, I've set z with a paper, I've adjusted the z while printing, I've slowed the print speed down to 25, I've turned up bed temp, nothing but fails due to adhesion. Suggestions? It would be nice to just use the PEI plate like I see others doing. My old standby for the past 4 years has been blue tape. I'd rather this printer act like it should.
Tackle Z-seam and string issue is nr.1 priority list for me. my first print was a lambo, it was smooth but because of spool shaking it come out wave ish,.
No worries, you got this! Luckily this printer makes it a whole lot easier than others. If you watch some of my other videos you'll see just trying to level other prints is a nightmare. If you need some help with Cura I have a playlist all about it. Good luck!
I've had one for about a week, the 5th printer of my collection. Easy to setup up. and start printing in an hour. Leveling works great. BUT the thing I hate the most is that it doesn't display xyz coordinates on the display. Every Ender 3 displays this info Except this on. Will probably send it back

Happy it helped! I have to admit I missed that step too. Luckily you only have to use it once ;)

At my job we are using Ender V2, an older model, but for our needs it's enough. Great presentation, by the way!
9:51 that SD card is for updates only and the screen is not made to have that SD card in all the time
Thanks for the clarification! Still curious why there and not just on the other side below the full side SD card reader?

I use Cura but there are a lot of options out there that do a great job. I've always used Cura so that's my go to.
